linda72,Thanks for posting this link.It does make a lot of sense. I have been so restrictive about my own eating while losing that I don't think I can restrict any more than I already have.It is an excellent idea to watch your carbs if a person is diabetic or is gaining b/c of too many carbs.I don't understand myself why some people can lose eating carbs and others can't.I think I will always be some restrictive of myself and carbs b/c I am a former diabetic but I'm not giving up my 1 Ole spinach wrap for my scrambled eggs in the mornings.LOL. That's the good thing about this board. We are all unique individuals and can figure out what works for each of us.

@beckyw2016 I may be over simplifying what Dr. Berkeley says but she thinks people should concentrate on proteins, fruits and vegetables and not rely on rice, pasta, breads, etc. to fill up on. I think these are the carbs she wants to limit but not eliminate. I think you've found the balance you need. Her postings have good ideas to think about but I don't follow any one thing 100%. Including WW.

I just have such a history of dis-ordered eating; I have changed so much and hope I will change more, but when I feel restricted it's not a good thing. Kathy,You have done so well.I don't see any reason you should restrict yourself anymore. There is no one diet fits all or how one person maintains may not fit another person.I think Dr B has the basics down and I definitely agree with not regaining but I don't think any of us want to give up carbs completely. Haha, no, I really don't restrict myself...I wish I would more!, I still make plenty of unhealthy choices. When SP came out, I was definitely eating less sugars, still a lot of carbs, but not so many simple ones, but that has shifted as the time has passed. I have bloodwork in a month and that will tell the tale. But, thank you and the feeling is mutual!

I agree with Linda and Kathy.I don't follow anything 100% but I do thank Linda for posting the link. The article is great and pretty much covers what most diets do.It is better to eat protein, veggies and fruit.I'm thinking the Dr may be saying to limit simple carbs but not to cut out complex carbs that can be good for us.
Again,Thanks linda72 for providing the link.

Thanks for, posting Linda. While in my heart I know she's right, she is pretty black& white. And I disagree that calorie counting doesn't work. It actually worked better for me than any other WW plan I ever did. When I saw how many calories I was consuming on SP without reaching my daily point total I was quite surprised. I think it's because I can, for,the most part, eat low carb because I'm a big protein eater & protein was "rewarded" on SP. I am not a big fruit or veggie eater and therein lies a big part of my personal, problem. However, the one thing I consistently crave is pasta, but not the paltry 2 oz. I swear I could be happy alternating every night between pasta and/or steak, roast beef. Now I'm even sick of chicken. I really really really need a plan.

Thanks, Linda. I don't necessarily agree with the carb attack either but I found most of the article very useful. I saved it.

WHY am I seeing an add for a $6 Footlong Steak & Cheese at Subway at the top of this discussion thread??? Seems almost like a diabolical plot by somebody…perhaps the carb producers of America!
