Good Morning
KOKO It started to rain at 3 p.m. yesterday and has continued. We may have the wettest week in many years, which is a good thing except the drains get clogged and streets flood. The developers did not do the best job with the land in planning the area where we live. We are on higher ground and the rain water goes south so the street on the south side of the development often gets flooded. This morning I have my Happy New Year mammogram across town. I will have fruit and coffee before I go so I can stop at the best local pancake house for a brunch on my way home. I just order a special of one large fluffy pancake with one scrambled egg and a piece of bacon with coffee and that keeps me happy till my next trip to that part of town which could be 6 months from now. I have tracked since Monday and last night DH agreed that I should throw away the extra sweets he won't eat and I shouldn't eat. I saved a small bag of See's chocolate balls because it is good to have chocolate available when needed. Still working on the water but I haven't had diet sodas drinking mostly tea during the day. If I can't walk outdoors today, I will ride the stationary bike. Dinner will be grilled chicken kabobs with rice and a kale salad. The kale variety we planted this year is excellent.
Have a wonderful day.

Audrey, may your mammogram go well. We have flooding in some towns in my state this week from all the rain over the weekend. Yes, it is good to have chocolate for when needed --- SRE --- Snack, Ready to Eat. What variety of kale did y'all plant? If you said before, I missed it.
Anyone here ever cook Savoy cabbage? A neighbor grew some, and it is good. There is no strong cabbage taste. Last night I did a stir fry with butternut squash, a diced apple and the cabbage. Just made a bunch of it, and it was supper.
The only think I know this morning is what I am having for supper --- 2 eggs baked in a butternut squash bowl and some salad. I have the bowl of a small butternut squash to use up.
How - will continue to drink the water, water, water, --- even though I ate nothing yesterday that was too salty. Nothing on the snack line looked good. LOL
Hope AWF have a great day!
I have the news playing in the background, and they just announced the Phorty Phunny Phellows will ride down St. Charles St. in New Orleans to kick off the Mardi Gras Season, on 12th Night or January 6th.

Today is here, awaiting me to give it meaning and purpose. What will my day be? What will I do to become healthie, lose weight, and maintain my WWer focus? How I'll I accomplish my goals to realize my dreams?
Today: I never made my grocery run or had a bubble bath yesterday, because of work chaos. I wanted to sleep on my thoughts regarding the work and the curricular changes.
How: I am, however, giving myself a time limit for how much of the morning that this task will consume. Will my health related goals the priorities for the afternoon.
will stop back later to "chat." Waving hi to Audrey, Bee, and all who follow!

Good morning Audrey Bee June Naomi and AWF.
Wishing you good results on your mammogram, Audrey. Enjoy your breakfast out. Sounds great. I agree, always good to have chocolate. I have a few of the dark chocolate lindt balls in the freezer for that time when I need them the most!
Bee I've never had savoy cabbage. I do love butternut squash, though. Enjoy
June I hear you on making plans and not being able to get them accomplished. Great idea to put a time limit on things. I need to adapt that mind set.
Naomi I'll add that family to my prayer list. How tragic! I also hear you on the portion control. I'm half arsed using my journal and that has GOT to stop. My mind just isn't 'with it'.
Wishing all that follow a wonderful day.
I need to sit and reflect, so if I'm not back, you'll know why!

I need to sit and reflect, so if I'm not back, you'll know why! Ann, I had to chuckle on this one, as I can absolutely waste a day just reflecting. Each reflected thought or idea leads to something else and before I know it --- it's supper time ... Enjoy your reflections!

Audrey β Good luck with your mammogram. Sounds like a nice treat for brunch! Hope the rain eases up for you. Bee β Thatβs my kind of dinner, or breakfast. I am using up lo baked sweet potatoes this week as potato boats for baked eggs. I usually just buy cole slaw mix but when I want it from scratch, I use the savoy. I love the crunchiness. June β Sorry you ended up with chaos at work. Making time for you is important and I hope you get the time you need today. Naomi β That is so horrible and happening more and more, sadly. I hope they are pleasant reflections, Ann. WI was right at goal. Now I start working on wiggle room. I have my new 84 oz. water jug sitting on my desk. My day is planned, prepped and pretracked.

Good morning, all!
We got up late and while Toots got out the door for work on time, I'VE been runnin' behind all morning.
DayJob's a bit more active today too <bleckh>.
WHAT: Gray day here. Need comfort food.
HOW: I'm making pumpkin/banana "pie" for lunch, and dinner will be roast chicken with mashed potato and corn. There's plenty o' comfort in those foods <smile>.
Will have to go back and read over lunch (will have to ignore the work'Puter at lunchtime...).

Checking back....
Audrey- hope that your mammogram went smoothly. Navigating roads and dealing w/ flooded yards and basements is no fun. Be careful and stay warm. There is something liberating in tossing some less enjoyable holiday goodies. Hope that the pancake breakfast was scrumptious!
Bee- love that you can whip up something interesting for this or that. Have never had Savoy cabbage. Being part Ukrainian though, I love cooked cabbage. Nice when you aren't tempted by what is offered at Bible study.
Ann- have a peaceful day. Always a nice gift to allow yourself to create moments of quiet and peace in your day.
Naomi- you'll get reconnected to your routine and it will be lights out, game over in no time. So so sad--I saw that news story and sent a prayer out to his loved ones, friends, & coworkers. Heartbreaking...
Susi- yaaaaay for WI as a free lifetime member! Good for you! Once you are feeling better, you will probably be more active and that wiggle room will increase.
Mj- hope that your hectic morning gave way to a more reasonable pace this afternoon. Your lunch & dinner sounds delicious. Enjoy!

Ha ha ha.... so my plans for today were unrealized. Took me until early afternoon to get my school "stuff" situated. Then I had to head home for lunch. And I wanted to talk w/ you all. So will head to the store shortly.

Decided not to bake the butternut squash --- instead will cut two rings, and cook on one side, then turn over cook for a few and add an egg to each one. Will serve with some salad. When I checked my squash bowl it was bigger than I thought. Will let y'all know how it works.
