5. An opportunity to nurture. While I know food shouldnโt replace other signs of love, I find the act of feeding my family and friends allows me to feel like Iโm taking care of them. Itโs a little gift I give them every day. I also love knowing theyโre eating as well as they deserve.
6. The praise! OK so Iโll really come clean now. As much as Iโd like to think that all these lofty benefits were what first got me into cooking, really, it was the praise. Hearing the words โThis is amazing!โ was a huge motivator for me to keep spending time in the kitchen when I was learning to cook. And still is.
How do you feel about these last two items? Does it ring true for you?
How did you do this week with your goal?
Although I haven't really thought about this, I do enjoy making nice meals for my family when they are here. It doesn't happen often enough these days, as they all live too far away, except for my oldest son. I do also admit that I like the praise when someone says that something I've made tastes especially good.
I haven't done all that well with my exercise goal this week. I've done some part of the time and have resolved to do better, to just get up and do it.

How do you feel about these last two items? Does it ring true for you? I know that when the children were at home it was a chance to nurture - not only by choosing healthy foods but also to speak with them while eating. I took up cake decorating and enjoyed the praise from that. When I fix a good meal that is new or especially tasty it is nice to have positive reinforcement.
How did you do this week with your goal? My goal till the 9th is to hang on and try not to gain weight. When my daughter leaves on the 9th then that will change and I will be back OP again - looking forward to it!
Thank you, Cherry, for a wonderful week!

Neither one rings true for me. And although I overdid things last month, I'm back on plan, eating mostly SF foods. I went a smidgeon over goal, but am back (barely; like .1 below!) as of this morning (on my scale at home). My monthly weigh in is this morning, so I hope I don't gain between now and an hour and a half from now...
I enjoyed this week. I think I may have to become a regular on the 7 in 7... Thanks, everyone, for letting me post without being an official challenger here.

I love making family recipes that have memories, especially mom. I love using these special recipes during the holidays. It filled me with joy and brought joy to others, especially mom. What fun!

I enjoy making meals for company to enjoy and have done so many times in the past.
I do enjoy the praise, but I don't necessarily need it.
Thanks, Cherry for hosting....

I enjoy making meals for my family. I am a very nurturing person, guess it is the Mommy in me. After 3 kids & 2 grandkids, it is my pleasure to care for others.

Thanks Cherry, for hosting. I'm ready to start tomorrow (or, possibly in the evenings before - work has been "walk in the door and start running" busy lately.)
I have to admit, I hadn't considered either of these aspects. I do know, as I think about it, that it really does matter for my husband. His health would suffer if doesn't eat properly. It makes me happy when I can make recipes that fit his needs and are tasty and he enjoys.
Praise - not so much out loud, but I do know he appreciates what I do.
*edit* Forgot to add. My goals are going OK. I have not met the water goal on all days. I realized that my goal to reflect could take an unanticipated turn if I let the negative events of a day into my thoughts. Learned to pay attention to the many good and positive events of the days.
