Good morning. Our local morning show is showing 6* on the tv screen, but my weather bug is saying -1*!! Whatever, it is still cold, then there is the wind chill..but still warmer than tomorrow is supposed to be!
Marlene, the thing about Lowe's and senior citizens...I can't say for Lowe's since we don't have one in Green Bay, but I tell ya...Home Depot, at least in Green Bay (the west side store) is HORRIBLE, for having a sales clerk in a dept! We were shopping for a hot water heater, about 2 years ago, and went there first. Needless to say, that is one of those things that you would have a lot of questions about, as you are shopping for it. There was not 1 clerk ANYWHERE even close to the hot water heaters in the store! So we walked all the way back to the front desk and asked for one to be sent there...walked all the way back to the heaters, and WAITED. Nope...nobody came. So we left, really ticked and went to Fleet Farm...needless to say, there was a sales clerk handy, by the water heaters...answered all of our questions and we went home with our purchase. Otherwise, I have not seen any kind of discrimination towards our age group. In fact, since we usually shop on off hours, I think we get more attention. The one thing I keep forgetting to do is, ask for a senior citizens discount. So many places give it, but you have to ask.
I am so sad that football is basically done, especially the Badgers!!! They had an excellent season, they were so much fun to watch! I can't stand basketball, so I will wait till NASCAR comes back, the end of Feb.
Phyl, good luck with your diabetes, and that is great that you got into the class! I am very grateful that that is one thing I don't have to worry about. Us seniors have so many issues to deal with, we don't need more.
Funny story: you all know how we had to get new insurance for the new year....well yesterday, being the 1st business day of the new year, DH got on the phone to call his new insurance company, since it would not let him register online for all the stuff you can do online. The recording said it would be a 15 minute wait. Which turned into a 45 minute wait. So he hung up. He tried calling in the afternoon, when we got home from our errands...the recording was different, and it said they apologize, but with the high demand in the morning, of everyone calling, and all the people trying to sign up online, their computer system crashed!!! The company is Anthem Blue Cross. HAHAHAHA!!!! We sure got a laugh over that!!!
Time for coffee...have a good day!
