Good Afternoon, Dear Ones!
Daily Affirmation: I live with love rather than fear Fitness report: Barre class…intense Health Goal: a healthy relationship with food Gratitude: some precious, like-minded people to remind me I’m not alone
I’m feeling good today…not about food, as I have gone off-the-rails with too many things this week, but because of two things: first of all, I made myself get up early and go to Barre class. I don’t love it, but I go. Now that is a big deal for me because, fortunately, I actually enjoy and look forward to every other exercise activity I do. But I’m not “good at” barre exercise: not flexible, not the greatest sense of balance, bad knees, not much of a turnout at the hips, and being on my tippy toes looks lame. But I make myself do this class because I know it is “good FOR” me. (And it feels so good when it’s over, LOL!)
The second thing I feel good about is that I have rediscovered pals at this stage of my life, who are good company, including retiree pals from a previous job and college alum who were not my closest buddies back then but who were friends-of-friends. It’s nice, I feel fortunate:)

Thank you for starting us Carol! I was going to ask why you put yourself through barre if you don't like it ... but then I saw how good you feel afterward. Sometimes finishing the workout is the best part. I had lunch out with co-workers but took half home in a box. Now I'm hoping I didn't eat something that will trigger anything. It shouldn't - I don't have any rash at all right now since that freak thing. Lisa, good to see you pop in. I know you will get right back on track! Hello to Suzanne, Michelle, Cathy and anyone who joins us today! Daily Affirmation - I'm soaking up the beauty of this day. ] Fitness Report - lunch walk, Margaret for chest, triceps, glutes and outer thighs; 20 minutes spine alignment yoga. Spiritual goal - do some Kundalini yoga and enjoy my garden tonight. Health Goal - Think up something healthy for dinner. Gratitude - a glorious day and squeezing in a quick walk before our lunch.
