Hi all,
So what are we supposed to do with Connect? I am inspired by scrolling through and seeing the before and after pictures, but other than that it seems useless. Such a shame they did away with the message boards, but thanks to those who got this site going.

I keep trying to like connect. I have a few friends over there. So, I skip all the posts about cancer, divorce, etc. that people share and go to the following tab. I do like the before and after photos. I don't like Connect on the web site, can't figure out how to post, not that I post a lot!

Since I'm using WebConnect (not on smartphone) all I can do is "like" and comment on existing posts, or click on a hashtag if a side-trip seems interesting.
Occasionally I'll cruise, and I do have a couple of posters whom I "follow" - but I can't FIND anything or anyone - if they don't wander in front of me, I can't look anyone up to follow.

I try to check in there daily but find little appealing about it. It is an off form of communication for me. There are some people that I follow who share pics and good tidbits and some folks there that are not here. I could live without it though. Just don't get the idea of it. I really don't like all the selfies.

On the app you can search by hashtag or by user name. I wish the web version was more full featured since I prefer to do writing on the computer.
The best way to think about Connect is that it is Twitter for WW. If you just look at trending stuff you get overwhelmed and may find things that aren't that interesting to you. That is how I felt about Twitter for a long time. But I found a bunch of people I follow on Twitter. It is actually the first place I go every morning. The key is that I am only seeing the posts of those that I follow.
I haven't done much on Connect mostly because of the limitations of the web version of it. But, if it was more full featured on the web I would use it like I do Twitter. One day I will just go through posts and start following people who are good. Anyone have any recommendations (I am catspell on Connect, not that I post much thus far).

Oh my gosh, Kitty, I had not figured out you were Catspell, LOL; your hair grew out! Nice to see you. There are a group of us from the boards and new fold from Connect that post every day under #maintenanceaccountability, although everyone there is not in maintenance. I think we all learn from one another and the dynamic is nice and positive. I think expecting Connect to be like the boards is a lesson in futility, kindof like trying to make an apple an orange. I wasn't excited at all when, in July, I was asked to take our old board Maintenance Accountability thread over there, but I was going on a trip and immediately loved being able to post photos, so that was my first hook. As time has passed, I love seeing some people that left the boards and some of the current friends, but I have also made new friends. I also only check the posts of friends I follow; I am not willing to go down the rabbit hole of looking at everything, and I have made new friends from reading the posts on friend's threads. Even though I haven't known most of the people as long, I enjoy enormously some of the new friends I have made since July. I don't have many IRL relationships with moving so much, and being with like-minded people every day is my *meeting*. It takes time and energy to find a small *tribe* but I have found it to be worth the effort.

I rarely look at before and after pictures but use Connect daily. I start discussions just like message board questions, post to Kathy's thread and connect with many who were on our old boards as well as new people I've met through Connect. I share photos of meals and things I see on my morning walks. If you post, you find people to follow and you also acquire a lot of followers. I get new recipe ideas as well as inspiration from those I'm following who are doing so well with their weight loss. Today I posted a picture of my feet but it wasn't a scale photo. I was showing off my cool rain boots because it is finally raining enough in California to wear them.

I like Connect now that I've learned how to use it to support my interests and needs. I never look at Trending😮 I go to Following where I follow my selected regular posters. I use # or @ to respond or comment to specific people. I've followed some people and then stopped if the content of their posts didn't resonate with me. Sometimes I check out New. I scroll past lots of stuff. I mean some pics are awful, some info incorrect, some people have excuse after excuse, but not my job to deal with that.

I’ve tried Connect repeatedly since it was introduced but simply cannot get into it. I do follow a few folks and check in on their content occasionally, but I burned out on before/after photos, those cutesy word images with platitudes, and hard luck stories very early on.
I’m sure Connect is very popular with folks who live on Facebook, but I’m not a big Facebook fan, either (and yet I’m a shareholder!).

I look at connect a few times a day but don't really like it. Occasionally I'll look at the new posts, but I'm annoyed if I take the time to comment (like with a recipe or something) and then never hear back from the poster. And there's no way to find that post again. I follow a few people, mostly from here, but the format just doesn't click for me.
I avoid the trending section for the most part!

I've tried to like Connect... honest! Have posted occasionally and follow a few folks from here. I prefer the message board format. I do Facebook and only do twitter when something is going on in the world.
