My daughter is in the path to see the solar eclipse where she lives in Missouri and says the city is expecting hundreds of thousands of people to be in town. I remember one that was partial in Lebanon (sometime in the past) and people driving to Syria to see the full deal. Anyway...are any of you in the path and plan to observe? If so, do you have approved glasses? I hope so! Don't go blind!!!
Daily Affirmation: I am able to remain positive even when negative things happen around me Fitness Goal or report: to be active for at least ten minutes today Health Goal: Making healthy food choices and recording them on MFP Gratitude: It is cooler today and I am grateful the laundry is all folded and upstairs rather than waiting to be done.

Good morning and afternoon: The day has not started out very well. Between the overcast skies, family-issues, and client-issues, I'm ready to take a walk for relief. A long one! And every thing is just hitting me a certain (negative) way.
Yes, I had intended to watch the eclipse but, despite the weatherguy's forecast for clear skies, it is now overcast. I am so bummed. Cathy, I did not get special glasses. I checked out what Amazon had a couple weeks ago and what they had were crazy-expensive. Something like $80 for 3 pair. For a one-shot deal for a partial eclipse that I may not even be able to see (because it is so often cloudy here), I could not justify the expense. I figured I'd find a safe way to watch; I also learned last evening that you can use your smartphone in camera-selfie-mode. I'll let you know how it goes. (Sorry I'm sounding so negative today.)
FYI. Lisa's posted. (Its on Friday's thread.)
Daily Affirmation: My day will improve. (Inhaling deeply. Exhaling. Breathe in. Breathe out.) Fitness and Health Goal: Earn extra Activity-points. Spiritual Goal: Lift my spirits, today. Gratitude: The Russian Sage waving in the breeze outside my window.
Namaste, Suzanne

Good afternoon and happy eclipse day! Cathy I imagine your daughter's home is swamped with viewers. Quite a few friends of mine have taken trips to see the event - one of them is a college teacher and her students chipped in to charter a bus down to SC to view it with all their gear.
When I was a little girl and lived in NYC, we just barely missed the "path of totality" which ran through central Maine. All day there was coverage and live footage of it. But - I could not resist the temptation - I went out on my aunt's fire escape and looked at it. Fortunately I did it at the time of almost 100% coverage, which they now say is the only safe time to look at it. Where I live now we will only have partial coverage - maybe about 1/3. It's going to be hard not to test my luck a second time.
Daily Affirmation - I value my eyesight and will not act like a foolish five year old!
Fitness Report - Began garden clean up in earnest; stretches for back and an after dinner walk.
Health Goal - Start day with a green smoothie (done) and take a lunch walk (done).
Spiritual Goal - reflect on the glory of our Universe (ongoing).
Gratitude - being alive to experience at least part of another solar eclipse.
