This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Good morning. It's DS1's birthday! My almost-New-Year-baby; missed out by 34 minutes, beat out by a c-section after being in labor all night. He was the most wonderful start to 1989. DH and I will be leaving this morning to attend DMIL's care conference. There are about 5 other errands I could run while we are there, but since he's closing to attend this meeting, I'll make it another day. Subzero wind chill here again and our kids go back to school today. I wouldn't go out if I had a choice! BBL

Quick hello. I can't believe I had not read posts for three days. I'm scrambling right now to handle classes, a new course, admin add-ons, and daily exercise again. Yesterday I attempted 30 minutes of Pilates. Other days I've been doing power walking videos. I told DH we are going out tonight, unless he wants to cook.
Sorry I can't linger. You are all in my heart. Good luck with your interview, Martha. Happy Mommy Day, Nancy. I hope to pop in later.

I'll be sure to look for you later, T, as well as anyone else who gets a chance to stop by.
DMIL is doing so well! The staff really loves her. I'm so happy my DH takes after her. His DDad (and the D is NOT for dear) was a nightmare.
A stack of boxes arrived, giving me something to open and distribute in my home. I'll need to make a quick jaunt to the grocery store, as well.
Later...

Good Morning, CATs!
Had a phone message and email from person that I was to phone interview with today. Needed to reschedule as her son was to have emergency surgery. Not a problem, I rescheduled for Monday. She did have openings for on Friday but felt that Monday would be better.
Current weather conditions for me: 28* feels like -2*. I'm not leaving the house.
Nancy - Glad care conference went well. Hope that those packages are your long awaited amazon. T - Good job on the Pilates. Hoping that classes, new course and admin add-ons mesh well.
I need to head to my dvd player. Not sure if will do Jillian or Rodney Yee. Feeling more like a Rodney day.
Hot Shower, hot drink & warm comfy clothes (think I'll put them in dryer for a few minutes) are in the offing...
Warm Thoughts to all~

Happy day CATs, Nancy, congrats to you and happy bday to DS. Travel safely to the care conference. It's great to hear she's doing so well! T, sounds like you were bombarded with your return to the little red schoolhouse. Hope you get it all wrangled into a manageable routine. Martha, egads, that's cold! I hope you have all the perfect responses for your Monday interview. Susan, cruise is only one week away? How fun! Frieda, glad you have some space to be in this week.
I'm getting back into the routine at the office after our long break. It is excruciatingly slow right now but if they want to pay me to be here I'm all in. We are supposed to hit quite low temps tonight/tomorrow and then begin to inch back up to unseasonable highs. Apparently we are just going to have that kind of winter, with constantly bouncing temps.
Not much else to report but I'm looking forward to my first long weekend already. Especially since we have a road trip next Friday.
See y'all later.

Hi There! N: I was told two things regarding the TM. You have to be slightly uncomfortable on it (fast enough to break a sweat) and to add intervals. So say you enjoy walking. Find your pace,do that for a period of time, then either quicken it OR maintain pace and increase incline and do that for a shorter period of time. off and on for between 30 and 60 minutes each session. I do 3 min walk, 2 min slow jog for 60 minutes. When I started, I had a base line and have increased the speed lightly in some weeks. For as slow as I go, I am pretty drenched when done. Do that as often as you can in a week.
GTG Cats.

Hi CaTs, short hi from me. Immersed in WeWa today. Busy mtg this morning, another (my local one) in a couple hours. Plus one piano lesson. Hope bodies turn out locally to embrace change and healthy living. We'll see!
Currently about 20° here with a chilling wind. Wouldn't go out if I had a choice. Mick was frisky when we walked. He didn't mind cold, still could sniff for deer and turkeys.
Off to address a chore or two. More tea. Reading over WW materials for new year (no plan change). Sending warm greetings to each of you.

Hi there! Cold here - waiting for snow starting tomorrow night. Everyone here is treating it as impending doom with a forecast of 4-6 inches. It took MM nearly an hour to check out at Costco early afternoon. That's the south for you! Shari, you will chuckle when you experience a southern snow for the first time.
Crazy busy here at work too today and everyone seems to be a bit on edge. I'm leaving a bit early to head to see a Broadway touring show tonight with pizza and wine before. Send me vibes for restraint please!
Got to dash for now . . . .

Howdy! DH and I are just relaxing in our clean house (thank you, DHK!) with the heat on, temps dropping, and a mild prospect of snow tomorrow. I brought enough work home to keep me busy if the sky begins to fall. DS is off galavanting and told us to go on to dinner without him.
Martha, just keep plugging away at that interview and pin it down! You are right that if Mama Bear's cub is in surgery today, you shouldn't expect her to be in the den the next day, ready for visitors. To quote a line from Jane Austen, "Save your breath to cool your porridge."
I gave myself permission to let my sore muscles recover tonight. I'll report in on exercise progress tomorrow.
