Okay, so I have finally come back to WW. I fought a long battle with my thyroid which caused me to gain no matter what I did. I think that I finally (cross fingers, knock on wood etc) have that under control so I'm coming back to WW. This time with about 100lbs more to lose than when I first started years ago. However, it is all water under the bridge. Nothing to do about the past. Only thing to do is look forward. And so here I am. I used to be active on the WW Veggie Forum years ago and went to look for it, but it seems like the WW Forums are gone and now it is Connect? I'm not sure that I'm going to love Connect as it reminds me a lot of Instagram. Plus I couldn't figure out how to post on it. So now it is dead to me. LOL I have a service dog named, Esme who is my constant companion. Her vet fat shamed her and put her on a restrictive diet. I figured that if she had to weigh in every week then I might as well join WW and weigh in each week as well. That way when we do our 5 mile hikes both of us might lose weight. I'm feeling slightly superior to her this week as I lost 2.5lbs where she lost nada.

Welcome, crocus. A little over a year ago WW closed the Community portion of the website (including the message boards) and replaced it with Connect. A group of us formed this board so we could stay in touch with the friends we had made on the WW boards. I'm not sure who is here from the Vegetarian board - I don't think it was very active toward the end. Look around here, many people are using the same name/avatar that they had on WW, so you might find some old friends, and hopefully you will make some new ones. Make yourself at home!

Thanks!! I'll be making my home here then instead of Connect (which I tried to navigate through again and don't like it). I'm old school. I like forums! I quit smoking years ago using a forum and darn it I'll lose weight using one too! And I love meeting new friends.

Welcome! I like forums, too. Hated when they get rid of the official forums, but glad to have this one.

crocus, I rejoined today after a 3 year absence. I too was disappointed that they got rid of the WW community boards. Connect is just another Instagram to me. Seriously doubt I'll ever use it. I'm looking forward to WW tips on these boards. The program is basically all new to me. A lot to learn !

HI Everybody- I came looking for a forum bc I remember them from 10-15 years ago when I was last a member. I too find Connect a bit to "stream of consciousness," so I hope to find a regular group here. I'm 56, have "joined" WW 3X, made lifetime, and then again, and now I'm back again; I even worked for WW for a while. I have ~40 lbs to lose (ugh), and I even had to buy a bathroom scale...I learned the program with points and don't find the smart points too intuitive -- I also don't have my starter kit so I'm hoping there is a an easy calculator included that I can use in the grocery store. This time I'm doing online-- which didn't exist back in the day.
I'm on day 3 and so far I have not been able to eat all my points...does anyone else have this problem? I also haven't had that end of day glass of wine (or 2) that I usually do, and I'm nervous about using my points for that.
Does this ring a bell with anyone? I wondering what to expect when I weigh in on Sat...

HI Gata. Welcome to the message board. Look around and make yourself at home. You'll find many welcoming groups, and some ongoing discussions in the General Discussion board.
I urge you to register (top right). It is a simple process, and will allow you to create a profile, adjust your settings, and make full use of the features of this board including messaging, tagging, bookmarks, and privacy controls.
