My nephew is visiting my sister and her husband and in one of her emails she mentioned feeling like her son is now in the position we used to be when our mom was our age - the time when we worried about her and found that suddenly we were more of the carer than the one being cared for. Although a mom never stops caring or being a mom there is a time when a mom's children start thinking they know better than the mom does...I found that happening a bit when my son was here with his wife and children. So...I am definitely moving into the white haired eventually being cared for person at some DISTANT time in the future As for the body - it is aging but I want to make it stronger & healthier - won't be doing the games of childhood but can do more than I am As for the mind & spirit - it is that of a much younger woman - never feel "old" till I look in the mirror Daily Affirmation: I don't worry about the things I can't controlFitness Goal or report: Walk outside later this afternoonHealth Goal: Fruit and Veg at every mealSpiritual Goal: Breathing meditation morning and eveningGratitude: For good friends

Good Day! Cathy, thank you for giving us something to reflect on. I was thinking about this earlier this morning. I remember witnessing the shift in roles between my mother and grandmother. And now I am watching and noting the ever-so-subtle shift I feel between me and my parents. For me, I see my 'shell' aging but, inside, feel as young as I did decades ago. Spiritually, I've grown in the last 7-8 years. This growth changes how I live my life each day, although I find it easy to fall into old patterns.
Pat, congratulations on passing your exam! Daily Affirmation: Uncontrollable aspects of my life, along with negativity, will pass thru me like clouds in the sky Fitness Goal: Get up from my desk for 10-15 minutes ever hour (Use a timer!) Loooong desk-days and deadlines, these days. Health Goal: Resist those (edible) temptations placed before me. Spiritual Goal: Take time out to really 'feel' spiritually; but, first, discover how to feel it. Gratitude: A forecast for a warm sunny day.

Cathy, I ignore my age. Words to a song "Age ain't nothing but a number". Not so sure I am a work in progress. More like a classic car that has been renovated and still needs work. When I gave up striving and acquiring more and more mental knowledge about spirituality etc it was a good day for me. Just work on using what I have read etc. which is a lot. I strive for being simple, less complicated, more sleek, less bells and whistles. Just chopping wood and carrying water, Zening my life away. Uni-tasking. Have reached shopping nirvana and have a black belt in shopping.
Suzanne, I thought your comments were interesting.
Affirmation: Get something done!!!
H & F Goal: Already took a much needed nap
Spiritual goal: In the zone again at the moment.
Gratitude: The wildfire smoke blew out of my valley while I was asleep. Hooray for that!!!
