We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

Just waving and getting us started for the day. I'm going to be out of the house for most of the day, but will check back in this afternoon.

I truly don't understand JA taunting Kim Jung-Un this way. It's like he's just trying to provoke him to do something in order to have an excuse for military action. Do his foreign affairs advisers give him any advice at all? If they do, does he ever listen to it? What do his generals say? I can't imagine any intelligent person with a knowledge of foreign affairs, diplomacy, and/or the military thinks it is a good idea to try and provoke this man or to challenge him to a game of chicken. He's a bully through and through. The problem is this bully will be hiding under the resolute desk while other people's sons and daughters are having to back up his taunts. Jared, Ivanka, Don Jr and Eric will all be off somewhere skiing and drinking buttered rum by the fireplace, while someone else's child will be bleeding out on the battlefield.

"You know, I could maybe give you 10 reasons why this bill shouldn't be considered," the Iowa Republican said. "But Republicans campaigned on this so often that you have a responsibility to carry out what you said in the campaign. That's pretty much as much of a reason as the substance of the bill." -- Republican Chuck Grassley So in other words, it doesn't matter that the bill is cr*ap. All that matters is that they're trying to save face by passing any bill regardless of how bad it is.

In addition to my own senators, I have been busily contacting other key senators urging them to stand strong against Graham-Cassidy. It may not do any good, but at least I will know I did everything I could. Any senator who votes for a bill they already KNOW is a bad bill, as evidenced by Senator Grassley's statement as well as the statements from other GOP senators, simply to pass "something" should be voted out of the Senate never to be allowed inside its hallowed halls again, IMHO. Can you tell I feel very strongly about this?!
