The Mind☯Body☯Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Good Morning, one and all:
Lisa, yes, I am very lucky that DM shares my passion for plants (of all sizes) and gardening. Had it not been for her, I would not have discovered Michael Dirr. I haven't told her yet that you live so close to the Ball Seed Co. Wow! A field trip to their test gardens would be awesome for both of us. We're meeting later this afternoon to discuss seeds which includes browsing catalogs, discussing what to repeat from last year, checking our seed inventory, and when to order our seeds. We've found that if we wait too long, they sell out of what we want (i.e. Wave petunias).
Pat: Has your sister gone to her doctor? You know, my IBD came on SO suddenly, I was sure it was a muscle or a hernia or a tear because it started after a couple hours of hard exercise. It was after 2 months of the nonsense, that I called the doc. Indeed, your sister may be dealing with a food insensitivity. But, if it could be her appendix, she certainly doesn't want to wait. That's what made me call the doctor. Whats crazy to me, is that mine was not only sudden, but it wasn't as if I was eating a lot foods that were really different. At that point, I'd been on WW for 6 months, eating virtually the same foods, day after day.
Anetta: I imagine you're busy sewing Valentines Day delights! That sounds like so much fun. You can be creative as you want. I always thought I'd like to go into jewelry design. I made a few pairs of earrings and a couple necklaces but then I stopped.
Hello to all who pass by today.
Peace out. (Anetta, I believe it was you that said that yesterday and it cracked me up. I haven't heard the term since the 60's, 70's? Love. It. Suzanne
Daily Affirmation: Cherish these moments I have with my family Fitness Goal: TBD (busy day) Health Goal: take stress and throw it out the window Gratitude: For not being attached to my cell phone or social media. Two habits I am happy I never took on. I wouldn't even have a phone had it not been for a hand-me-down. As it is, I can't figure out what I do with my time!

Greetings from snow CT. It is coming down fast. I had plans to attend my meeting, hit the organic co-op and the gym, but when I left WW my car was covered and roads were filling up so home I went. Suzanne best wishes with the low FODMAPS. It does seem quite restrictive - I think you can't even have pepper? I hope it is something you only need to follow until your symptoms are under control, and then start adding back in selective items. Alas, my sister refuses to see a doctor about her GI problems. She has been hospitalized for it and they told her "suspected C-Diff" or "chronic colitis" but my niece and I both see the Celiac symptoms. She will. Not. Hear. Of. It. I don't know why they didn't test her for it in the hospital. Michelle how awesome that you went hang gliding! When we visited the Alps we came upon an outcropping and guys with hang gliders were soaring off right into the mist and clouds. You couldn't see your hand if you extended an arm yet off they went in the void. It was magical and scary at the same time. Hello to all! ♥ Daily Affirmation - I will use my snowed in time productively. Fitness Report - restorative yoga and spine stretches. Health Goal - avoid "snow snacking" Gratitude - being home safe.

Good afternoon from rainy CA! Several big systems carrying lots of precipitation are in the forecast through later tomorrow so it will be a stay-put weekend. Thanks for today's start up, Suzanne. Suzanne, when you mentioned that you and your DM share a love of gardening, I often wonder of that things like a love of nature are encoded in our genes. My mom loved flowers and had one of the greenest thumbs I've ever seen and I seem to have inherited her passion for all growing things. It must be fun planning out what you'll be growing this year. Do you actually create a design or sort of let it create itself? I tend to do the latter and have never been disappointed with the end result. Enjoy! Yes, I've been happily sewing, although nothing for the past couple of days while accomplishing other tasks, and love that the heart pouches are easily and quickly made. Pat, I'm glad you were able to at least get to your WW meeting before the snow starting coming down heavily. I can just imagine the winter wonderland you must be enjoying right now...all warm and snug inside! It's sad that your sister is so resistant to accepting what her body is clearly trying to tell her. Perhaps she is so used to being uncomfortable that she has forgotten what the comfort of normal digestion feels like. All you can do is hold hope that something in her attitude will shift and enable her to be open to proper diagnosis and/or treatment. Michelle, I use gloves when working on large quilting projects because they make it easier to move the fabric evenly through my machine, especially when doing free-motion quilting (not following a particular pattern). Wow, I'm amazed at anyone who is brave enough to try hang gliding!! It made me think what deep trust in the Universe one has to have to literally leap off the edge of a cliff! Weekend waves to Lisa and Carol! Daily Affirmation - I am my own wise witness to everything unfolding as it should. (Linda Hall) Fitness Goal - Functional fitness day because of the rain. Health Goal - Eat meals as planned and already tracked. Drink plenty of water. Gratitude - My Foodsaver and how convenient it makes preparation for future meals quick and easy. Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Happy Sunday!
Anetta, I think it's interesting you brought up some passions as seeming genetic. I do believe this! My mother's family were farmers in Austria, and still live on the same farm in the mountains, 4 generations! My great Aunt, mother, all my sisters and one brother all share the love of gardening. Strangely, we never grew vegetables as children, but all love it now. My mother used to go to the prairie path near our house and dig up all the wildflowers. Illegal now.
Pat and Suzanne, looks like you are well into winter bliss with all the snow up NE. We are frigid, but dry here. It doesn't even seem like winter from the inside ... until you leave the house. HaHa!
affirmation - I don't even like carbs! health goal - veggies and lots of tea! fitness goal - stretching. I am so sore from all the shoulder and ab work I did the other day in small increments, yowza! gratitude - time to sew. I'm having a blast!
Hello to Michelle and Carol and anyone else lurking!

Lisa, Those aren't lurkers, they're fans!
Anetta, I think driving on chain controlled roads shows a greater trust in the Universe. Especially since around here all the little commuter cars ignore the mandate and slip and slide endlessly.
The dog wants something. Her body language indicates "Play with me now, or else"!
Affirmation: Dogs are great!!!
Goal goal: Get my chores done so that I can spend the rest of the day funning. Funning does not seem to be a word. Hmmm....says something about our goal oriented society.
Gratitude: It is raining on the 10 inches of snow melting it. Hooray!! I guess. This storm system is called "The Pineapple Express" and it is so much warmer I do feel like I am in an Artic kind of Hawaii. However may not be able to get out of this valley tomorrow morning if the water from the stream goes up over the main road. However I have an emergency funning plan for that.
Onward>>>>>>>

Good Afternoon:
Anetta: I do think there must be genetic component to my passion for gardening, coming from both sides of my family. DM is an avid gardener. DF was when he could get around better. He even did the county’s Master Gardener program. His uncle owned greenhouses and a florist shop on their hometown. And one of DF’s ancestors taught horticulture in Germany. My sister attended Cornell for horticulture. My maternal great-grandmother loved gardening. My maternal Grandmother didn’t garden at all, but she had a love and appreciation of nature that she passed on to me. She and DGF did a lot of walking of the state parks where they lived (in and among the Appalachian Mountains). She had always wanted to do that train excursion thru the Western Canadian Rockies.
Pat: I can have peppers with the FODMAP restrictions. Its a very interesting list and I intend to do more reading. Strange stuff: I can eat raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. But not blackberries. Just strange. I do hope that the restrictions allow my gut to heal and then I’ll be back to normal and can reintroduce foods. At least I can have peanut butter (natural)! And good quality rice!
Pat: how is Celiac disease tested?
I’ve decided to wait for the Virtual Reality technology to bring hang-gliding to me. Wish I could afford a pair of those VR goggles. So incredible!!
Off this afternoon to one of our local wineries to meet family and friends. Should be a fun reunion.
Daily Affirmation: Be as present as I can be today. Who knows when this group will gather again. Life can be so unpredictable.
Fitness report card: “F” Health Goal: To get an A in fitness goals as of tomorrow.
Gratitude: For my grandmother, who taught me how to love nature and respect it.
Namaste. Suzanne

Good Afternoon, dear ones!
Daily Affirmation - I can accomplish so much when I set my mind to it!
Fitness Goal or report - feed my Fitbit. (It went hungry yesterday...)
Health Goal - choose to nourish my body, mind & spirit (I'll be starting a 10 day "detox" program Tuesday, going to the info session tomorrow night....wish me luck!)
Gratitude - for the beauty and power of nature! (15° and snowy today! Purrrty!)
Oh my gosh, you all have given me some good laughs today with your witticism! Suzanne, I so relate to the "wait for VR technology to bring hang-gliding to me." Michelle, I also am aiming to get my chores done so I can enjoy funning the rest of the day. I have a couple monthly chores for my volunteer gig, a computer user group, which are time consuming and hanging over my head, so to speak. Off I go to do my chores!
Be well! Carol
