We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

A beautiful dream, Linda, and then we wake up to find we're really still in the nightmare. This morning I am being thankful that I do not live in Alabama, and fervently planning never to do so. Could they have possibly made a worse choice for their GOP senate nominee? I think if this is a signal for the GOP of what is to come, that these sort of candidates will ultimately be the end of their party. But then, what do I know? I thought there was no way the JA would ever be sitting in the Oval. I didn't even think he could get their nomination. So clearly I am woefully inadequate in judging these political scenarios. Yesterday I did take the day off and went with DH out of town. It was nice, and we enjoyed the time together even though I did get two calls while we were gone, and I had to make one call to the doctor's office. Things are not going at all well here. It's a long story, and much too depressing to repeat. Linda, you are right that I am going to have to make some hard decisions, and I fear that time is coming closer and closer. At least it's giving me exercise because I am walking, and walking, and walking some more trying to push the stress out of my mind.

nashville11 , {hugs}} Sorry the stress and decision making is so difficult. Glad you were able to take some time to decompress---so important ! The JA is out of control today with his tweets. These 2 show how delusion he is...

A chuckle for the day:
"WASHINGTON - Paul Ryan urged Republicans to move on from health care to other Republican agenda items, like tax reform: “We may not be able to keep the poor from living longer, but we can still make them poorer." -- Andy Borowitz

Sources say, " he (JA) was embarrassed & pissed" about his candidate losing in AL. So, for heaven's sake, please keep him far away from the nuclear code button!...I would imagine all kinds of delusional tweets will be coming out today & beyond! I also hope Twitter DOES NOT decide to go from 140 characters to 280 like they are test marketing. JA would be in Twitter Heaven ...UGH! One wonders if their decsion is based on the JA use of Twitter.

pbnj , he gets more delusional every day! There is something so unbalanced about that man, how he ever got elected still floors me. You look at Hillary's qualifications and yes back story, then you look at JA's. Why would there have ever been a question among intelligent well informed voters. There were two choices.....what a mess. He couldn't even get into the NFL owners "club"... They knew he was a hustler and a shyster and his word was worth naught. (((((((Joyce)))))))))) this is all so very tough for you. My parents passed early so I can only imagine what you are going through. Keep meaning to tell you how pleased I am for you that you found a home in a perfect location. Being near the kids, or at least a drive away is everything that is important in life.

The words to a Cyndi Lauper song comes to mind, "Money! Money changes everything." There, I said it!
It's as if America was on the auction block and the highest bidder, briber won. Reasonably sane people were worried about the dumbing down of America while liars, thieves, and opportunists were plotting and planning their victory.
Anne, I love your signature quote too. I have to start looking at those more often. Congrats on your 50th!

Anne...CONGRATS on your 50th...Our 50th is Saturday, September 30th, but celebrated in July when the boys threw us a small 50th party with family, close friends & original wedding party. It was really nice even tho I'm so not a party person.

I posted it on my RL FB page... wonder if I'll get any comments. (I've blocked so many trumpsters and/or their links from my page!)
