We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

I'm just so pissed at JA morning tweets. Puerto Rico is suffering you moron. And all you can do is tell everyone what a great job you are doing and then question whether Puerto Rico should be rebuilt?
My blood pressure is rising... grrrr!

Well, that's certainly Patriotic & Respectful to say about Puerto Rico & its citizens who are a part of the United States ! Good Grief! Jeez, if just Price, Mnuchin, & Trump family would pay back travel expenses for their ripping off the tax payers that would be a good start & , would go a long way in the recovery of getting people back on their feet & start the rebuilding.

The JA response to the situation in Puerto Rico is appalling, and just continues to show what a bigot and racist he is at heart. He cares nothing about their suffering, and could care less that they are American citizens. Their situation is dire, but according to him it shows an "amazing" response by his administration. I suspect he wants the situation to continue, to stay in the news cycle, because it keeps some of the pressure off what is going on with the WH. He knows his base doesn't really care about Puerto Rico that much. After all, if they had any humanitarian feelings they wouldn't have put him into office in the first place. For those who voted for him solely because they didn't like Hillary, I hope they are sick with buyer's remorse. Save

Dadgum it! That word "Save" is showing up at the bottom of my post again. What's going on? Do the rest of you see it, or am I only seeing it on my computer?

Did you know that Puerto Ruco is an "island surrounded by water, big water, an ocean" ...from the mouth of the JA in the WH. đ

Yes, I see the save word. Check your settings, maybe something got changed or needs resetting.
Go to Edit Profile & Settings & scroll down to Enable Drafts which saves posts during creation...Make sure it's checked No...might be the problem....or ask Administration. Hope this helps. đ

From Verified Politics...... During a speech today to the National Association of Manufacturers, Trump made some of his most embarrassing comments yet about the unfolding crisis in Puerto Rico.
In his typical rambling, stilted cadence he explained that Puerto Rico is âan island, surrounded by water, big water, ocean water.â Islands are, of course, surrounded by water. Every island in the world is surrounded by water. Thatâs what makes it an island.
Equally nonsensical is the motivation behind Trumpâs childish pronouncement. He seems to think that people will accept the fact that Puerto Rico is an island as a viable excuse for his failure to adequately deliver personnel and relief supplies to the Americans living there.
Itâs as if Trump expects us to forget that he controls the most powerful navy and air force in the world, two resources which excel at crossing âbig water.â If he really wanted to help, he could so easily. Heâs just lazy and racist.

Thanks for the tip Linda, but that wasn't it. I think it may have something to do with the fact that I went back in and edited the post after first posting since it didn't appear in the second one which I did not edit.

Well, guess not since I just went in and tried editing the one above to see if it would happen and it didn't. I have no idea why that has happened to my posts twice now.

Have I said how much I hate the JA lately? This mornings tweets are the most vile, ugly statements! What an amoral, uncaring piece of shit! People are suffering, dying and he attacks the mayor and pats himself on the back? When, WHEN will the country finally realize this inhuman piece of garbage needs to be thrown out???

Are those the same 10,000 Federal Workers (?) sitting in a air conditioned civic center waiting for orders to move?....
JA berates Price for 2 hours...!!!...not saying Price didn't sped serve it, but a takedown by the "King Rip Off Scum Bag" had to be abit much for Price! LOL
Of course since the Mayor of San Jaun is a woman, it's an easy insult for JA frail ego!!!!...I hope to god she does not meet with him if he comes to Puerto Rico.
Wouldn't it be a lovely sight to see Obama, Clinton, Carter & Bush charter a plane full of aid supplies & hand deliver it themselves. I would LOVE that visual!
Well, if JA is golfing today, I hope lots of pics circulate.

Dan Rather........ Excuse me, Mr. President but your tantrum tweet storm this morning attacking the mayor of San Juan, a fellow American citizen dealing with a real-time life and death struggle for hundreds of thousands of her constituents on an island of millions in crisis, is not only far below the dignity of the office you hold. It fails even the most basic test of humanity. Did she have harsh words for your Administration's response to the aftermath of Hurricane Maria? Yes. It's called a reality check, and one that conforms to every firsthand account coming out of Puerto Rico no matter how much you try to deflect with your "Fake News" epithets. To take this personally is to put ego before country. And you also blame the Puerto Ricans themselves? That they want "everything done for them"? No. They just expect to be treated as any other American would. I have seen more than my share of wretched desperation over the course of my career. I have reported from crisis zones where matters of life and death hang moment to moment in the balance between action and inaction, where communication is limited, and the sense of panic is building. I have seen the most steadfast of leaders feel the crushing weight of responsibility as they survey a landscape of almost incomprehensible need. It does not take a saintly amount of compassion or empathy to feel for those who are struggling to stay alive, who are worried for the fate of family and friends, and who have seen so much that they have known and loved blown and washed away. You swore to "faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States" and that means a responsibility to look out for all Americans, even if they live on an island in the ocean, or look different or even speak a different language than what you think is America. I worry that whoever has your ear has not adequately impressed upon you the gravity of this situation, or even the political price you are likely to pay (although that can be no where near the top concern at the moment). Or perhaps you have been told and haven't listened. Regardless, what Puerto Rico needs now is not rhetoric but help, not a bumbling response, but the precision and competence we expect of our government. I do not believe "blame the victim" is what Americans expect of their president.
