This thread is aimed towards shorter people over 60 whose goals are in the lower range. We are working to get to a new low goal or stay there. Facing unique challenges due to height, we are very supportive of each other. Come join us?

Good morning!
Well, I left my Fitbit on the charger yesterday so it only shows about 2000 steps for the day! Going to make my stats look bad for a week. Oh well, I know I got plenty of steps in yesterday.
The first 5 window sills are completely done. 2 are halfway done that leaves 3 that still need to be done from scratch.
We may go to breakfast at the VFW hall this morning. Some of our friends will be there. One couple has friends visiting from the mainland that we have met and they will all be there.
Nothing else on the agenda.....what are your plans for the day?

I did gain 3 at my WI but since I told myself I'm doing what I need to do I'm not stressing about it and just going to continue doing what I'm doing. Our meeting was packed! I was wondering if it would be as 10 minutes before the meeting time there weren't many people but then all of a sudden they started showing up. Our leader spent the meeting asking what our goals were for the year and said old members could read over the new material on their own and ask questions at future meetings. New members were asked to stay after the meeting to have the program explained to them.
Nancy Bridgette is about 25 pounds and so is Bailey but they carry the weight differently and Bridgette looks like a bloated whale! I wondered if they would even wear the sweaters as I've tried it with Bridgette before and she refused. This time I put it on Bailey first and then here came Bridgette to get hers on. But they had no difference in how they acted.
Not much going on here today. I did get laundry done yesterday. We're going to get in the 20's today so will get out for my walks again. Fred said it will feel like a heat wave!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Sandy

Good Morning ~ Got up 4:30 am - did do a exercises - after having Pizza last night AND a small piece of BD cake - I needed to exercise for sure! It was a great party at the bowling alley - kids and their parents were there - we had 3 lanes and on two had the bumper guards for the kids. Today we are going to dinner at friends. So food challenges abound! It's going to be a beautiful day - it's 45 deg.(5:57 am) right now but going to be 73 deg today. Joy, Enjoy breakfast with friends today! Sandy, 20 degrees will feel like a heat wave made me laugh Enjoy! Everyone, Have a Great day! Spring is just around the corner

Good morning Petites. It's 7 above with a 10 below wind chill. Feels like I'm back home in Gurnee! Cricket's little feet were freezing before she could find just the right spot outside. She was limping until we got back inside. She just went to the back door, as she always does after she has her breakfast. I opened it, and the cold wind blew in. She backed up and went back to her bed. I didn't blame her! I've got her sitting in the chair by the windows so she can look for deer on the golf course, although I suspect they are hunkered down somewhere warm too.
Glenda, glad Joe was feeling some better. Hope you don't catch it. Glad the snow clearing didn't bother your knees. Do take care!
Joy, glad the windowsill project has gone so quickly and so well. Sorry your Fitibit doesn't show as many steps as you actually earned. I had that issue too. Have fun at breakfast with friends!
SandyIL, Cricket weighs 47 lbs and that's down from 53. She's a big girl. They tell me she should weigh about 40, but it's been years since she was that low. I hope the new members will find success with WW, and hope you will continue to have such great progress. Just imagine how great you'd feel if you lost another 30 this year like you did last! It could happen! But even 10 or 15 more would make you feel better too.
Sharon, glad you will have a warmup today. We could be 60 by Thursday. Strange winter for all of us! The birthday party sounds like a lot of fun. I am sure you didn't do too much damage with just one slice of pizza and a little cake. I'm sure you will handle dinner with friends just fine also.
i did my official WI today...changed my day to Sunday. I'm down 2 lbs. I was hoping for 3 since it was my first week, but I'll take anything as long as it's a real loss. It's the same as yesterday's weight so maybe it is. The main thing I've cut out is the 3 AM snacking because I've been sleeping a little better. I still wake up often but can usually get back to sleep. I ate more vegetables and fruits this past week than I've eaten since he passed. I was at 1200 calories daily.
No plans except to stay warm today. I may go to Petco and the grocery after the wind chill advisory is lifted at noon. We won't be walking. I'll have to play with her more in the house. She's already given up on her new toys and brings me the old ones again.
Take care and enjoy the day.

Reader at church today, but got in my steps as we walked, and I took the long way home. Had egg white omelet for lunch.

I see it is a slow start today here. I put Cricket into the 4 Runner, no small task since I have to pick her up to get her in and out, and we went to Petco. She had never been there and pulled me all over the store twice! She was so excited! She really needed to be out of the house because she was so bored. I got tons of food for her in case winter brings more unwelcomed surprises! I also bought little silicone booties to see if she will wear them. He said I can bring them back if they don't fit her. I remember Gerry saying that her little Izzie wouldn't move when she put booties on her, so we shall see what Cricket says.
Then, I made myself avoid Starbucks which is right there near Petco because it was already after noon and I feared even decaf would have too much caffeine. I can't have caffeine after noon. Anyway, we went to the grocery. I left her in the sunny car and ran in for bread, milk, chicken, broccoli and radishes. They didn't have Brownberry bread that was recommended by some Petites, but I got a "real" whole wheat by Arnold that looks good. I also picked up a small loaf of sour dough bread in the bakery section. I love sour dough, and one of you mentioned it the other day. So I'm listening to all of you!
The main roads are fine. My street has icy spots especially on the down side of the big hill. Coming back up the hill, the lane was cleared. However, I didn't need 4 wheel drive so all was good. My car said. it was 18 degrees, but the bank I passed said 20. The sun feels warm when you stand in it. Hope is on the horizon!

Reader at church today, but got in my steps as we walked, and I took the long way home. Had egg white omelet for lunch. Joan, I had an Eggbeaters spinach and feta omelet topped with some fresh avocado for lunch. Glad you're still getting some steps despite the weather.

Nancy, Joan is not only getting in her steps, she is waayy out in front of me! Go Joan!! I think I'm the one who mentioned sour dough bread the other day. We had the homemade soup for dinner last night and we had the bread with that! It was yummy! I was up on pts yesterday but it was also my cheat day. The only thing I really cheated on was an 8 oz Pepsi and the bread with the soup. Couldn't have been too bad because the scale is still moving down this morning! Ha ha to Cricket running all over the store - yes, she was excited to be some place new with LOTS of new smells! My DS got her little doggie some booties for her feet - the first time she wasn't too sure about them but was soon running all over the yard in them! Congrats on the 2 lb loss! Yippee for you! It's a good start, don't be disappointed!
Joan, good for you for walking to church in the cold! Much braver than I!
Sharon, 4:30 am ?? I sometimes get up to go to the bathroom at that time and I crawl right back into bed and go back to sleep. We got up about 8:30 this morning. However, we do stay up later - usually until about 11. Enjoy dinner with friends tonight!
Sandy, glad that the girls accepted the sweaters without a fuss! They will stay warmer that way! I wouldn't worry about that temporary gain - overall you are way down and your body is probably just adjusting as Nancy said. Keep up the good work and eventually the scale will start moving down again!
I don't think we will go to breakfast - we usually sit outside as the VFW hall is quite small. It is only 65 out - too chilly for me to want to sit outside in the shade! There are no tables in the sun. However, since it is cool, it is probably a good day to get out and do the Round Up. It seems to be clear and the sun is out. I'll see about it when I am fully awake, ha ha!
Mammie, I hope your headache is better! Linda, I hope you are still feeling okay after treatment! Hi to Bo, Glenda, Mickey, and anyone else!
Have a good day ladies!

Hello! Nice sun but it sure is deceiving. Went out around 11:30 to clean off drifted snow on sidewalk and the deck as well as the cars. Worse part was when wind blew snow back in my face. School has announced we'll own at 10 tomorrow. Temps will start warming up starting tomorrow and rest of week.
Nancy, poor Cricket. I wonder if she will like the boots. There's a video of a swim team whose swim meet at VT yesterday was cancelled. Several of them were outside in swim attire practicing. There were 4 or 5 of doing different swim strokes in the snow. Cannot imagine.
Watching golf from Hawaii again where it was 74 yesterday. Trying to use my imagination.
Nancy congrats on your loss. I was close to 10000 steps yesterday. Don't remember how many miles.
Hope everyone, Mammie, Linda and others are having a good.

So I put the boots on her. She just stood and wouldn't move until I made her. Then she walked like a person with flippers on would walk. It was comical! I let her go outside, and she got along in the snow just fine. Once she came back in and I took them off her, she ran around and around the kitchen through the dining room and TV room twice since she was happy to have her real feet back, I guess. I'll only use them during this super cold weather but so far seem to be a good idea. Hardest part was getting her to lie on her side so I could get them on her.
Yes, the sun is very deceptive, Glenda! Good for you for getting so many steps. Was that from the snow removal?

Nancy, congratulations on a nice loss.
Went for a second walk and walked around the house while talking to my Mom on the phone, so have over 10,000 already today. Also decided I'm going to try having my milk with lunch so I can cut out liquids starting in the afternoon. I'm getting up too many times during the night and if this doesn't do it, will check in with my Dr. Last night it was from 1:30 until three that I was up reading because I couldn't sleep. Bathroom at 1:30 and also at 3. Also read an article on my type of RA causing one to not be able to sleep. I think I don't notice the pain during the day, but when I fall asleep it seems to act up more - restless sleeper and figure that's why. When I edit the fitbit for sensitive sleep tracker I usually only actually sleep well between 3 and 4 hours total.
So, Packer game starting soon. Have a great evening.

It's still cold here and I'm not as dedicated as Joan to walk outside when it's so cold. The temps should be improving this week so I won't mind going out for errands. Tomorrow is back to water aerobics and I have my bag packed already. Nancy, wonderful WI! I just can't stick with it on my own. Mickey, hope you are doing ok. What a scary experience! Hope everyone is staying warm!

Hi everyone, haven't done much today. Didn't even get out of my PJs. I took out some chili I'd frozen but was in the mood for pancakes so that's what I made for myself. We have a busy week this week. Baltimore Tuesday & Wednesday. Thursday treatment, Friday PT. My brother, SIL, 2 nieces meeting us for dinner Tuesday night. Been watching E! on the Red Carpet but need to get into the shower. Haven't watched the Golden Globes in years so looking forward to that tonight. Last night I watched a movie we bought on Vudu called the Sessions, an Independent film at Sundance. Not a movie I might normally watch or choose but I thought it was well done, good performances, good actors. Helen Hunt whom I've always liked so surprisingly after the first 45 minutes I liked it. She was nominated for an Oscar. But do people really do this in real life Sharon, 430am?? Mammie, hope the headache is better. I have always suffered with headaches but realized recently since I switched to using mypillow, its rare I wake up with one or even get them anymore. Nancy, we will be in the 70's on Thursday & Friday! Ladies, you're all so disciplined with your steps. Haven't really had much desire to count steps but I have decided to go back to walking soon when the weather warms up. My doctors always told me walking really is not enough but it always made me feel good to walk. I was a walker everyday for years but quit for several years when walking really aggravated my sciatica & spine which is slightly crooked. Hi Joy, Joan, Glenda, Barb, Bo, Sandy & whomever else I've missed.
