I'm a little late to,the party. Feel better Deb.
Continuing with the decluttering & reorganizing. I'm both apprehensive .& excited to hit the bedroom closet 🙄🤗. I've been tossing a lot of stuff in there to get it out of the way. Never a good idea. I'll get to it this week though & then I'm done for awhile.
Too cold for me to,go,out yesterday & today but looks like we have a bit of a reprieve toward the end of the week. Is it spring yet?

Someone asked yesterday where I live that it is so cold. I live in northwestern North Dakota, about 40 miles from the Canadian border. It does get cold here in the winter, although this winter it is more near normal than it has been for the past 5 years. I think we have had a little more snow than what is "normal."
Made some chicken vegetable soup this morning, with broth and chicken pieces from a rotisserie chicken carcass, carrots, onion, celery, parsnips, leftover Lima beans and juice, corn, and a can of pinto beans. Seasoned with thyme, basil, salt and pepper. Some will go in the freezer in individual containers.
My son is coming today, and if he hasn't eaten lunch he can have some of the soup.

Oh dear to the dogs. Our first dog was a minature greyhound we got from the shelter in San Francisco. Petey never weighed more than 7.5 lbs but had a Napleon complex and never backed down. On post when the troops would march early in the morning, Petey was barking at them and they could hardly keep from laughing. Many times he had to be taken home being carried! Hope the dog and the girl are fine.
Out early this morning as the handbell choir played at both services. We then treated ourselves to a healthy brunch. Now home to relax a bit before getting to work putting away decorations.
Have a great day everyone!

I'm late to the party also.Feel better DebDoesWW. I put a pork tenderloin, carrots and onions in the crock pot before church this morning and it smells so good already. It was 15 in my neck of the woods this morning but the sky is clear and with the sun out it has warmed up nicely to 52 although that south wind is a little cool yet.I plan to walk later this afternoon.

Happy Sunday all.
Sounds like there is weather happening all around. The Bay Area storm didn't hit us too badly in Silicon Valley proper, but I did see reports of some trees down. My neighbor was shopping at Safeway when the power went out. The store told shoppers that after the power came back on it would take 1 to 1.5 hours to bring the computers back to life. Guess it is asking too much to give employees price lists, calculators and cash boxes.
I chickened out on going to the movies today because of the wind and rain that's continuing. But I lifted my mood by turning on ALL of the lights in the areas of the house I use. When I remodeled a few years ago, I brightened the hallways with can lights, and warmly light hallways do, indeed, make me feel happier.
So since I'm feeling happier and going stir-crazy, I got industrious again today. I made Skillet Beer and Beef stew (WW recipe HERE), and had toasted sourdough w/ICBINB with it.
While that simmered away on the stove, I took the opportunity to clean out the kitchen freezer. I discovered more than a dozen ice packs of various sizes and designs—don't know what I was expecting that I had so much "cold backup" in the freezer. Since the freezer is a bottom/drawer freezer, things easily get lost, so after cleaning out stuff that was well beyond recommended storage times I now actually have room to store things I need access to.
I've been chipping away at cleaning my home office, as I believe I mentioned yesterday. So in a while I'll head back in there. I want to move the desk that the computer sits on and get at the rat's nest of wiring that's between it and the desk I use for doing paperwork. It has been so many years since I've gotten into that corner that I know there are a bunch of wires that are connected to nothing, and a bunch of small power supplies for things that have long since left the building. Not to mention two dead UPS units that need to go to e-recycling.
So far the storm hasn't made me go "food crazy," and the scale is indicating that I can expect to see a loss at weigh-in tomorrow. That will be welcomed.
Marlene Koch is featuring a breaded Teriyaki Chicken recipe on her blog that's from her Eat What You Love...Quick... cookbook, and I think I'll add that to this week's list of things to cook. It doesn't get much better than Stew and crispy oven-fried Chicken when it comes to diet-friendly food.
Well that's it for now. I hope everyone that's freezing will thaw a bit in the next 24 hours, and that everyone who is feeling "under the weather" recovers speedily.

Hi cold here in Michigan but better than it has been. No complaints. Zazzles, that recipe looks interesting. I hate tough beef - does it turn out tender?

Hi, very late check in here, Went to church, took a nap, then worked on laundry and school paperwork. Was supposed to go grocery shopping but I chickened out. It's 14 degrees here but the windchill is -4. I just cant take it.
I've got enough to make lunch for a few days. I'll get there eventually, but I just really hate cold. The CP, RA and low BP just all make me get cold very easily.
Take care everyone
