Morning, Ladies!! We have sun and no malaise here.
June, hope your first day back goes very good. The thing from Pioneer woman sounds really good. I love Cannellini beans.
Audrey, enjoy your lunch with DD. Your soup sounds delicious.
Susi, hope today is a good day for you.
MJ, hope the water chases the malaise away. Sounds like you have a plan that will work.
Naomi, whatever you do, enjoy. Hope the doc has soem wisdom for you concerning the mouth.
StanleysGirl, I have my pj's on also. I am a lounge clothes person. Stay warm.
LaDonna, sounds like you have it down! Enjoy your day.
Ann, stay warm!
How - water and AWARE!
Am also doing some investigation into my diet to try and determine how much sugar I am really getting. I add a teaspoon to 1 1/2 mugs of coffee --- just curious. Am reading I Quit Sugar by Sarah Wilson. So far it is an interesting book.
Hope AWF have a great day!

Thanks everyone for your warm words & thoughts of encouragement for my first day! Am always excited for the first day. You would think I wouldn't be after all these years...
Naomi-- it's fine to linger over a cup of coffee on a bracing day like we are having in the NE. You don't give yourself near enough credit- you do have a plan. You have exercise and food plans in place, but leave some flexibility of choice. You know, for example, that most days you will exercise in the morning and pass on breakfast.
If I hadn't had to secure a flat, safe parking place, I would have joined the pj brigade! Please be extra cautious as you adjust to those pain pills. I was able to get a room relocation, so I am in one building and can park directly behind it. Am here early so that I can park on ground level and avoid snowy or ice covered ramps. Probably being overly cautious, but I do not want to hurt myself. I want to be to walking for exercise as soon as possible.
Ann- yes to staying in your pjs as long as possible. Let the tempt climb a few degrees before venturing out. Stay safe & warm.
Stanleysgirl- welcome! Ha ha ha-- cold is relative. But having visited in SC, I understand that your winter isn't supposed to feel like this! Do we get FitPoints for shivering and shaking?
LaDonna- have another great Monday at school! I am saluting you with my water bottle! I packed a breakfast to eat here and a midmorning snack, too. Preparation helps. Have decided to root for Clemson after all. I am a sucker for a tiger mascot and orange team colors.

June โ I looked up Lamar Mady โ he is on the reserve list. Still, he is in the NFL. Sorry your feet. Although itโs a good reminder that it does take time to heal completely. That bean recipe looks good! Loved the Annie Apple story Audrey โ Really good pizza is a regular part of my plan. Just no more ยฝ pie. LOL When you get a chance, could you share that soup recipe. I am not much of a soup person but there are a few I really like. What a wonderful end of season party MJ! Loved the pics, especially of you in the kitchen. Good luck today. Naomi โ I canโt wing things. I can change a plan, but I have to start with one. When you work over a candy shop and across from the land of pizza/burgers/hot dogs and all sorts of boardwalk food, I need to have safe stuff. Ann โ Stay warm as you run your errands. Too bad you can run your errands in your warm pjโs Stanleysgirl โ Enjoy the PJโs as long as you can. Bee - Myfitnesspal is a free food tracking website. I track there (or double track) because I like the breakdown it gives you of fat/carb/protein/sodium/sugar. You can also track other micronutrients.
I am sore from all the shoveling and just took some ibuprofen. The boardwalk and side roads are too bad here at work to walk at lunch today. The dogs weren't liking it too much yesterday and this morning either. Fortunately it will start warming up tomorrow. There is a wonderful small grocery chain up near where I was yesterday for the memorial. Things I have trouble finding by me. I got arctic char, all kinds of sprouts, some beautiful heirloom tomatoes and snow pea shoots. Also got a great deal on blackberries and lump crab meat. So I have lots to work with.

Bee that book sounds interesting. I don't add sugar in coffee or tea, but I have no clue how much I'm actually eating. Maybe I'll take a peek at that book at some point. Let us know how you do with it.
Yes June, shivering does add activity points LOL.
Susi, I also have to have a plan in mind or I am totally lost. Good for you for getting all those healthy foods in.
The temperatures are rising!!! It's now 9.2 out there! A real heat wave from earlier.
Stay warm, all!

Stopping by to say hello. DD is still in the hospital. I wish things would just get back to normal. Now my husband has gout and I'm getting over a stomach flu. Worst two months ever. Doing well with food though. Thanks Bee for reaching out.

Bee- I think that it is great to be aware, and so make informed choices. Sometimes I think that I should phase out sugar, then other times the kid in me thinks- uh, not so fat there!
Susi- wow, you really got some great ingredients with which to work. I do not blame your Charlie or Jack!
Annette- so very nice to "see" you. Sending you prayers. Please drop by anytime.

Recipe review
cannelli beans/ spinach-- made it w/ 1 tsp olive oil, onions, 1 can of drained beans (left a little liquid for cooking), spinach, garlic powder, onion powder& black pepper. Squirted on lemon juice. Added a Roma tomato & cooked those tomato pieces just a bit. (I like color & it was quite vibrant). Was quick & easy. Looked appealing. tasted fine. Next time--maybe fresh garlic or more garlic powder & maybe a tsp of olive oil per serving. A little more punch was needed. HOwever, I inhaled it b/c I was hungry.... maybe it was just fine?
Easily a good side dish for pork, leftovers for a base for soup--just add chicken broth, or portable lunch/ snack. I could see myself eating a cup of beans/greens w/ side salad & fresh pita bread and being quite happy.

Debating on shoveling some snow. DH's plan to run the snow blower as for naught. Tomorrow we are getting freezing rain. I do not want to slip as I walk to the car coming or going to school.

Annette, stop by when you can. So sorry to hear about all of your troubles. Hope you have much better times ahead:)
Bee, waving! I've not quit sugar completely but SP sure put the brakes on it for me LOL and I am sure that is a good thing!
June, I would love to see Clemson win as they are from my state plus Alabama has won so many times already. But, they are BOTH winners to have come this far in my book:) Should be an exciting game!

(((hugs))) Annette. Keeping all involved in my prayers.
Well, the errands are done and I did a LOT of shivering so I'll count that as exercise LOL.
I heard from the reconstructive surgeon's office and it could take up to ONE MONTH before it gets approved by the insurance company. Good grief....not what I wanted to hear.
Going to shut down and try to relax......

Good morning all. June wishing you smooth sailing on your first day back to school! Hope it passes quickly for you. Audrey today is a great soup day. Wishing your daughter a happy bday! I love mushrooms and June, I love those beans! Susi hope you find today to be less draining. MJ hope you are just tired and not coming down with anything. It's hard to stay healthy at times. Hi Naomi. I never did get back to you yesterday about the chocolate bits in my tea and hot chocolate. I just add the mini morsels that you use for baking. Just a few is all you need. Today will be spent doing a few chores and running errands. At least it's not snowing, but it is cold! Waving to AWF. Thank you Ann , that's what I figured but I thought I better ask...
