Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from WWs, had a gain, and is recommitting to the program. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. We love to use first names here, so tell us yours when you post.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes it is harder to keep it off and even if we fail, we keep trying, which is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, I count on talking to you guys each day and I am blessed to count you as friends.

Good morning friends, Well my in-laws decided not to come after all. Although they ended up with no snow, and any road problems we had here in the metro area cleared up by noon yesterday, they were nervous about some areas in between that were hit with worse precipitation that we were. So now we will only have myself, DH, DD (DSIL has a cold and will stay home) and my friend(who will only stay until half-time because she has to work tomorrow). DH and I are picking up some BBQ from Jim-N-Nicks, and I will make some sides. I think we're going with pulled smoked chicken (it's delicious!) and I will make green beans, some of those 1/2 ears of corn on the cob, and maybe a small pan of corn bread. I've also considered some deviled eggs...I'd have to do those this morning though. I've already booted up the work laptop and taken care of the couple of things I needed to do, so now I should have the rest of the week work free! (at least until my phone rings anyway...ha!) It's 25 here this morning, but predicted to get up to 43. After the last few days, that will feel like a heat wave Okay, off to get coffee #2. Hoping for a great day for all - food and otherwise. BBL

Good morning. It is COLD in VA today. It was 9 degrees as I came into work this morning. For some reason I could not get my remote start to work this morning not sure what issue was. When I got in the car it started right up.
I have the roast in the slow cooker for dinner tonight. I got it ready around 7:30 last night.
I am in a kind of blah mood. I can't seem to find my motivation. Not just with eating correctly but with work and life in general. I feel sluggish and like I want to sleep all the time. I have several important things I need to get done by the end of the month at work or we will be out of compliance but I haven't even begun to work on them. As soon as I am done with the mundane daily things I just want to be done with work..............I am backing myself into a corner that I don't need to be in.
It is like I am going on bare minimum and I don't know how to get out of this mode.
Lora sorry that all your company is not coming. It will be a good time for you and your DH to spend time with DD alone and have some quality family time though.

Lora, just what I have to do, get coffee #2. Couldn't figure out what was going on until I remembered that you must be watching the college football championships tonight. I can understand how your in-laws didn't want to do the drive. How far away are they?
Susie, good for you tracking points. I have been doing that since the 1st of the year, and what do you know, it works! I am down 3.5 lbs since last Tuesday. I don't want to really count that because I should definitely not been any higher than I was this morning.
Have a very funny EZ Pass story. We were in St Thomas when a cruise we were on stopped there, and got into a cab. I noticed the cab had an EZ Pass, so I asked the driver if he took the car back and forth to NY. That was years ago when NY was the first state to use EZ Pass. He said, no, I bought it this way. He must have bought a car off lease and the person never took their EZ Pass out. Our body shop reminds us to take the EZ Pass when we leave the car. Not my car of course, but DH's car is always a magnet for things to happen to. Never his fault of course. I think the last one he admitted to, although the trucks that he tried to squeeze between shouldn't have left their trucks parked like they did. I have had to call numerous times about doing away with the $50 charge because in NJ there are places that are supposed to pick up the pass but don't. We had a few over the summer between us and my DS.
Working from home today, it's cold, but I may go out to return something to Bed Bath and Beyond, and Target. I bought a new card table to use for mah jongg, and it is warped so that the racks on 2 sides don't sit even.

Jana, we were posting at the same time. Sorry for your blah mood, but that's not uncommon when the weather is like this and you feel stuck. It was 12 this morning here. It didn't feel that bad though when I was out with the dog. I didn't walk that long with him though because I went towards our normal walk, and the street that had the hill was not as clear as our street is, so turned around. No need to slip down that. Everyone seems to be using their crock pots these days. Maybe I will do something in mine next weekend after DH gets home.

Well I have dug in at work and I have 2 of my 11 reports done - well partly done, I have done my part and I am waiting for the team leader to review and approve and then I have to save them and publish them, print the reports out and put them in the proper binders. I can't finish my part now until the team leader finishes his part
I took a break but I ended up running out and getting Cheetos and M & Ms - I only ate half of each and the rest are closed up and put away.
Hope everyone is doing well today.
Robin that is funny about the cab

Hi ROs...c-c-c-cold here in VA... it was -3 degrees in my neighborhood this morning (they announced it on the news)...bbbrrrr. I called PT to see if the therapist had a later appt than 9:00 AM and she had one at 10:00 so we took it and left the house an hour early (it is only 15 minutes away but I didn't know what we would find). Our neighborhood was pretty much all ice; my driveway was pretty good though, and the main roads were clear so we didn't have any problems.
Jana - sorry for the blah mood with everything. Too bad I couldn't have sent you to Cayman with Andi!
Lora - the pulled smoked chicken sounds yummy... do you add something that gives it a smoky taste or how do you do that?
Robin - yeah for tracking in the new year... I hope I can continue - I know it definitely works and I want to get to the meeting Saturday and not have to pay!

Hey everyone -
I flaked this weekend - like a snowflake - see what I did? Haha. So Friday at work (and Thursday, the first day I went back) I kept saying I was so sleepy. I figured that the combination of a wacky sleep schedule plus quitting caffeine had caught up to me. But Friday night I slept for 11.5 hours. Well, I woke up early Saturday and called the WW number to see if my meeting was cancelled - it was, so I went back to sleep for a few hours. We had about 4 inches of snow out here. I ended up laying around most of the rest of Saturday. Eventually I got dressed and showered but most of it was being very lazy. Something must have been wrong with me to sleep that long - I normally will wake up after about 8.5 hours max and need to not be in bed. The snow must have put a spell on me.
I was glad to have gone grocery shopping Friday night even though I expected it to be crazy. We had gotten some snow Friday afternoon and by the time I went to the store, it stopped. I think people rushed out early in the afternoon rather than waiting til after work so it wasn't too bad. Sunday was good - I, again was lazy, until I pulled myself up and out to go see Hidden Figures. I knew if I didn't see it this weekend I probably wouldn't see it in theaters - I will have some work obligations this weekend and the following weekend i'm out of town. So I really liked the movie. I came home mid-afternoon and took down my Christmas tree and got all the decorations put back in the closet. I have an artificial tree and every year I feel like it loses more and more "branches" - these little ribbon guys that I find for a year around my apartment. I vacuumed a ton last night and I swear half the tree was in the canister. haha.
Eating is going okay - I had a little binge last night but am focusing on clean, real food. I have 2 days this week where my options are limited by what we have at some work things but I'll make the best of it. I cleaned out my fridge and freezer. It's amazing how much food I *thought* I had in the freezer that had been in there for 2+ years. What a waste! I'm hoping to get to WW this weekend, but I'll have to get there really early. I have some work stuff starting around 8:45 Saturday morning so it would be a rush.
I hope everyone is staying warm and digging out. Cold here this morning too - it was 7 degrees when I got up. I think we get above freezing tomorrow and then into the 50s and 60s for the rest of the week. That's a totally normal temperature swing... haha!

Well busy day here at home getting ready for tonight. Robin, yes. The college football national championship game is tonight. Alabama vs. Clemson again this year. The inlaws would be coming from north Alabama (about 4 hours north and west of Atlanta). There are 4 different routes they could have taken, but 2 come in through the mountains (not great options for them) and the other 2 would have taken them south and then east to Atlanta - through some of the areas that received the brunt of the snow/ice (so still not great options). DFIL has become very nervous about driving in Atlanta recently anyway, so I kind of suspect, he might have been a little relieved to have a reason not to come. Susie - I picked up the chicken and pork from Jim-N-Nick's BBQ restaurant. I wish I could make something this delicious! Jana - Girl, I feel for you with the sluggish/want to sleep all the time issues. I've been the same way lately. I'm hoping this solid week off with give me some time to recharge my batteries and clear my head a little. Hang in there sister, you have a lot going on with your parents situation, the changes at work, the holidays, etc. Don't be too hard on yourself, my friend. Amanda - good job on getting your tree down! Mine is still up :-( One more thing I'm hoping to get accomplished this week while I'm off. (fingers crossed!) Okay, so far today I've done 2 loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom, made deviled eggs and slaw, I have un-sweet iced tea brewing, and have green beans cooking. I ran to the grocery store for a few things and to the BBQ place to pick up the pork and chicken. Now I'm back home and just relaxing a little. As soon as the green beans are done cooking, I'll finish wiping down counter tops and the stove top and pretty much be set at that point.

Hi ROs...had a pretty good day...got my car that is parked on the street jumped by myself ALMOST - ha! I know how to do it on my Lexus, but have never done it on the Ford Escape. I had everything set (hoods up - had the manual out-jumpers cables out,etc then wasn't sure exactly what to attach the red to on the Ford...bolt, thing that had a + on it, round bigger bolt/whatever) so I went to my neighbor's house and said, "Can you see if I am doing this right?"). I was still very proud of myself because I ALMOST did it alone - ha! Before DH would have taken care of this...
DBIL called to see if it was OK for him and DSIL to come this weekend from NC (Oh Lora ...DN goes to Clemson so you know who we are rooting for). Sunday is DSon's birthday so I am checking with him to see when he would like to celebrate.
Anyway...thinking about dinner...hope I can keep it together tonight since I did so well last night!

Good evening ROs. I had some unplanned eating today. The remainder of a jar of fancy cashews was in my office and I took a few, tracked the points, got on a conference call, and finished the rest. I estimated about half a cup total. I ate 37 points today, according the the tracker. Not at all pretty and I don't usually lose weight if I eat my weeklies. We'll see. I really don't like weighing myself every day as Beck suggests. Yesterday I went up 1.5 lbs for absolutely no reason and today I'm still up there. And with all the salt I ate today, tomorrow should be even worse. Just discouraging. The idea is to take some of the power away from the scale by weighing daily but it doesn't seem to be happening for me yet.
I took my car to the body shop this morning and Enterprise gave me a Ford Taurus. First of all, the car is huge! Second, everything is computerized on a screen. I couldn't figure out how to turn on the radio or the lights or even open the window or move my seat. Ack! I wish low tech cars were available for those among us who are tech phobes. I got someone younger in my office to show me some basics so going home wasn't so intimidating, but I still have another 2 days with this thing. Even the seat warmers are on the touch screen!
Hard going back to work. I was busy every minute and am just exhausted now. Am in bed both because I'm tired and because I don't want to be downstairs with the kitchen.
Wish I had a more upbeat report tonight. I tend to be more upbeat in the morning.
No personals tonight except I wish I could join Lora for dinner. It sounds so delicious. The only problem is I really dislike football. Plus you're a thousand miles away from me. Oh, and you didn't exactly invite me either, lol. Have fun this evening.

Susie, congrats on being able to "almost" do that on your own. I think it's great that you got that far. That is the one thing I do not have to do in the Prius, ever have the car jumped.
Andi, mindless eating is sometimes the worst. I was almost going to look into those Beck books until you said the thing about weighing yourself every day. I think that actually makes you obsess about the scale more. I know I do it, but it drives me crazy. I am a person who gains from salt too, that and wine. So, any meals out are not good because they load them up with salt to make them taste better, even in the best restaurants.
I am not sure how I managed to not eat today all day long, but I ended up eating lunch on the late side, had a big salad with turkey, FF feta, corn, and Bolthouse Caesar dressing. Right after I finished I had to get on one of our very useless conference calls. I ate some cut-up watermelon I had in a bowl, walked the dog in this freezing weather, which took us a long time, then had a call from a client a short time later and was on the phone with him for a while. I had a low fat string cheese while I was preparing dinner. This is what I love about Blue Apron, I make things that I have never made before. Today it was freekah. It was made with cod, which is so low in points that I could eat all the freekah, but honestly, I didn't need to eat as much as they gave me. I cut the butter, sprayed the pan that I cooked the spinach in with olive oil rather than pouring in, and used the fat free yogurt sauce I made yesterday instead of the creme fraiche which was similar. I am really happy that I ended up with 2 meals for tomorrow and Wednesday. I don't mind eating the same thing more than once. I'm very happy, and have a lot of points left over. I don't think I am going to even use them, I can give some to you Andi!
