I am starting the day with a long walk. Yesterday it was raining too hard before I had to leave for my meeting so I missed my walk. I am preparing a healthy beef stew in the crock pot and I started a 5 day tracking challenge with a friend. It will help me stay on Plan today. These and drinking water are what I can do. June, I'm glad you got the parking figured out yesterday. Naomi, is your jaw better? Question to anyone: why does 'Bama have an elephant mascot?

Audrey I hear you about walking outside, I just said to Trigger that I wish I could walk outside. The Dr. Doesn't want me outside in this cold. By the way I would not even think of walking in this cold..... It's my left side of my Face and I am taking the medicine 2 times a day. I go to see a Dr.Lee but not till Feb. 7th. ( neurologist) and the bad thing about the internet is I started researching about my problem and I wish I didn't. Today going to the Orthodontics as I'm covering everything. Tomorrow I get bloodwork, face X-rays and a MRI with contrast...It seems like my Dr. Is covering all on his side...
Thanks for asking...
Good Morning to each of you,
Trigger is off today , not sure is we are cleaning or not . He likes to help me well I let him clean the kitchen usually when he is done I'm done with the 6 other rooms of the house. Hehe but hey help is help.... just making a funny I love when he helps.. I have 2 full Bathrooms and they take the longest today,, Yucky yucky.
So I seem to be eating more the last week or two I'm sure it is to do with my face, I need to get a handle on this..
How: WATCH PORTION CONTROL, TRACK

Audrey- thanks for getting us started. Hope you get the time for a walk today. So very happy that you now walk w/ ease after your knee surgery. What a difference a year makes. Enjoy your walk today! Beef stews is one of my favorites. Makes a Hearty cold weather meal. That 5 day challenge is a great idea!
Naomi- are you getting some relief? Ha ha ha my DH also has different ideas about what cleaning means, but I love that he wants to help. All that waiting, not knowing, pain, worrying-- yes, it does set you off kilter. You do your best, that is all that you can do.
TODay: eat well and move more How: breakfast & snack made. Menu sketched out. Need to think of what activity I can do in lieu of walking.
I have started to wonder that if when it comes to major surgeries or illnesses if holding your weight within 4-7 lbs gain isn't a reasonable goal. I know that my weight is up. I will have to see what it is when I WI this month. My focus instead has been to journal, eat well, and move. But what I do know is that I will take those baby steps to halt the weight creep, stabilize, and do what I can. What I know is that I am not going to let loose and find myself back at 202.4; Nope- not doing that. Will stabilize in the low 140s and work down to 139 for free LT and then down to 137.

Good morning Audrey June Naomi and AWF.
Audrey enjoy the walk and good for you making a journal challenge with a friend. I sound like a broken record here...I start to journal and then fall off the wagon. Time to get back to that myself! I like the feeling of being in control!
Naomi love the new picture. I hear ya with cleaning and getting 'help' LOL. Bathroom as the pits! I need to dust off the measuring cups and scale as well. Eyeballing isn't cutting it!!!!!
June, I know what you mean. Good point with your focus being on eating healthy moving more and using the ol' journal. Maybe we could all do a 'challenge'........With me it's the darn 'waiting game' that is really getting to me.
Today my focus shall be on hitting the GHG's. I always feel better doing that.
Wishing all that follow a great day!

Ann- if you want to set it up, then we could do an internal challenge in this thread. Whatever you want to work on, I am game. This is an unsettling time in your life, so it makes sense that you are unsettled by it. If we can help each other stay anchored w/ a challenge, then let's give it a go. I've been challenging myself to get in my ghgs, b/c I lived that way as I was in & out of WW during PPs reign and it provides me w/ a good balance. I, like you, feel better when I get in my ghgs most days. Plus it takes some of the guess work out of - what do I have for a snack? Our challenge could be anything that you want to make it. I am in!
Time to do something productive in the office. COming in at 7:30 to get a parking place w/ less risk is crazy when my class starts at 11. But I will make this work, and work to my advantage. It is just- geez Louise - you should see all the food I packed just in case. We have freezing rain scheduled to hit the area right as I would drive home. The freezing rain will turn the secondary, snow covered roads into a nightmare. I may wait here for the storm system to pass, and so have packed breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and extra fruit. Or I may just distribute the syllabus and head home. Decisions, decisions.
First task of productivity is to fashion a mental tin hat tin hat so that I can dispel the elitist & passive aggressive bs of two male colleagues. Before I don my mental tinfoil, I have to say- Seriously, dude, what is wrong w/ you that you are disparaging a student who you have never met for e-mailing you that she is sick & will not attend today. I think I will play music and keep my door shut. I would rather not hear the consdescending remarks, and hear them so soon. Blah... elitism. Students do get legitimately sick. It was quite responsible for her to send an e-mail explaining her absence and apologizing. Okay- I am done. TInfoil hat clamped down.

Audrey, your beef stew sounds delicious, and your house will smell wonderful.
Naomi, I love the new pic also! Still lifting you up in prayer for your face.
Ann, those GHG's are easy. Have a great day!
June, yes, baby steps and halt the weight creep. Be safe driving home.
Susi, have a great day!
How - off to Bible Study, to dance my way through all those goodies. LOL Drinking tea, and have some extra tea bags with me. Lots of water to be guzzled.
Picked up some cheese yesterday as an extra protein to nibble on.
Hope AWF have a great day!
Where is Tamarry lately? I was thinking about her on my way to sleep.

I could not find my own post because I had typed Sunday instead of Tuesday. Corrected now. Naomi, stop looking up medical symptoms on the Internet. It will only cause anxiety. June, I remember how encouraging you were to me when I had major surgery telling me not to worry about the weight because it will come off. Keep that tinfoil hat on and be strong. I hate that elitist attitude some have.
Will be back after breakfast.

Susi- waving hi and will try to stop back later to hear more about your day.
Naomi- hope that the snow crews are out and about long before your DGS has to come home. Locally, 83 schools were closed before I headed out the door.
Audrey- ha ha ha-- I posted a second Tues thread before I caught that you had got us off & running. Deleted mine & jumped onboard this one. Thanks, Audrey for the kind words. It means a lot. I just got emotionally swamped in early November. And I was exhausted on every level. So, no surprised I didn't care for myself as well as I could. But I will learn what I can from the experience.
Regardless, my opportunity remains the same no matter what I weigh-- under goal, at goal, above goal-- each day I have a chance to fuel my life w/ positive thoughts & energy and healthier foods.
My tinfoil hat is getting dented--damn--maybe there is a lesson in this all. I will let you all know as soon as my head stops hurting from the incoming passive aggressive, elitist, negativity. Maybe the best step forward is to be compassionate. It can not be easy teaching when you have such a poor opinion of the students and process.
LaDonna--- CLEMSON TIGERS!! wow what a game. I went to bed early in the 3rd quarter. caught the highlights this morning--21 points in one quarter, wow!
It's about class time. See ya!

Hi girls. I just finished a LONG talk with myself and realized that the only constant in my life right now is half arsed doing weight watchers and coming here! I thank you all for providing a 'safe place' to vent. I know we've all been there.
June yes a challenge would be wonderful. How about just staring with baby steps like HONESTLY tracking. I say HONESTLY as I am falling into the trap of concentrating on tracking just what I WANT to see rather than all the BLT's that I find myself eating. I vote that you play music and keep your door closed to the mindless mean spirited talk! Keep that hat on, GF and wishing you the best to get through this day.
Susi, good luck with the doctor appointment and scheduling.
Bee enjoy your day and your tea. Funny, it used to be easy for me to get in the GHG's....now it seems like everything is a struggle. How I long for getting my LIFE back!!!!!
Naomi just lit a candle for you and yours. Praying for you, GF!
Audrey LOL I never noticed the day in the start of today's thread. I was never one to be observant I guess! Enjoy your stew.
I just finished breakfast and going to write it down in my journal. I'm off to a good start. KOKO and baby steps all the way!

Looks like you are well planned for success Audrey! Your recovery from the knee surgery has been impressive! Naomi – I’m glad they are doing additional testing and not waiting on the neurologist. Hope the meds give you relief until you get to the bottom of it. Dr. Google will drive you crazy and you won’t know which is real and which isn’t. Trust your actual doctors. You’ve worked too hard too long to slide back now. Let your picture keep you inspired. Any help from DH is better than no help! LOL June – Are you able to do any yoga? I know you love your walking, especially around campus. Hopefully it won’t be too long before you can get back to it. At least you are journaling and eating well. Both will take you a long way. Keep your tin hat on! BS is BS. Ann – After I reached goal in 2008, I switched to simply filling. It worked great until around 2014, but then portion distortion crept in and the scale crept up. When I went back to WW last December, I broke out the scale, measuring spoons and cups. I too feel the GHGs make a big difference. Just put on your oversize pair of awareness glasses Bee and enjoy the study. I hope Tamarry is okay. If she doesn’t show up soon, I may drop her a note. The is a daily thread on this board called My Menu. I post my plan for the day there. Seeing it in black and white helps keep me accountable. And if a BLT happens, I may not post it there, but I will in my journal. All tests are done or scheduled. My day is planned and tracked. I have most of tomorrow planned and tracked. Just working on dinner. Since I pack both breakfast and lunch on Wednesday, I need to have it ready to go.

Naomi, my looking better challenge is closer than the summer. In March we are on a 21 day trip from Singapore to Dubai. We will visit mostly warm weather ports so I need to wear the clothes I would wear in Hawaii, capris, short sleeve tops, shift dresses etc. I need to wear those clothes with ease as I did last summer just in our hot weather. Of course there you are in a sleeveless shirt and shorts looking really trim! Ann, I agree with June about a challenge just for this group if that is what you would like. I challenged my friend from central CA because she has a busy life with two little kids and because of a genetic issue with her bones this cold weather is extremely difficult for her making her very tired. It is so easy not to track when this is how you feel. She got back to free LT about 6 months after the baby was born and needs to stay at that weight not just for free LT but also for her bones. They can fracture easily if she carries too much weight. So I am also in with whatever would be helpful. Susi, have a good day. Bee, tea is all I had at my meeting yesterday. The beverages are in the kitchen and treats are on a buffet table so I just walked right past that table. Enjoy your Bible study.
