Good morning all. Today I CAN and WILL drink water, move my body, and PLAN and actually EAT what I journal!!!!! No more, no less. I need to get myself back to basics now. Enough playing around with the program LOL.
I shall do this by eating different foods. I think I'm in a rut here and just getting bored. Going to dust off and put on my awareness glasses.
Again, thank you for all your prayers and hugs.

Ann, whenever anything happens that prevents a pre-planned thing from happening, I just tend to see it as God has a better plan.
I am joining you in the water brigade parade.
How - water, water and more water. Indulge myself with some zero soup before each meal. Haven't gotten far enough to plan the day.
Hope all who follow have a great day!

Good morning, Ann & Bee J and AWF!
Food boredom is DEFINITELY a red flag (red napkin?) challenge for me. Here we are, in the Season of Eatin', with commercials and TV shows all centering around a groaning board of foods that in many instances are ONLY found on Special Occasions. And here they are, all wrapped up in boxes of memories good and less-so and served with a heaping helping of Holiday Cheer.
I'm trying to head back to The Good Old Days - when unhealthy food choices were limited to The Day of Celebration and perhaps one day of leftovers to follow.
And I'm definitely trying to keep my regular menus/food choices interesting so I don't wander down the sugar plum path.
WHAT: Another day of sitting at the DayJob'Puter. Hectic/boring as churches ramp up for Christmas and don't want to spend time on bulletin tech. And "I" would much rather be doing something else with my day, for sure. I do have Friday off again, but there are so many tasks and so little time (it seems). Maybe some fast food would help...
HOW: I've had a healthy bkfst and there is a strong plan for the rest of the day. As I mentioned above, I'm working to keep my food choices interesting - and more strongly-flavored, too - so that my taste buds are attracted to THEM and not to junky stuff. I will also start roughing out the meal plans for Christmas weekend so except for the planned indulgence of KressMess Eve (and perhaps the anticipated leftovers thereof) food will be normal.
DayJob's dinging in... BBL. Have a healthy-eating day, all!

Nanny enjoy visiting with your son.
LOL MJ to the red napkin!!!!! I am going to also try to keep the 'fun foods' from getting out of control.
Bee you are so right. This is just a little blip that I know I'll get through. We don't get the see the big picture!

Gooooood morning Ann, MJ, Naomi & all who follow. Ann thanks for getting us started.
Today: Do the hard work of recalibrating my mindset. I have wanted to meet this goal, I simply have not done the hard work to accomplish it. I have been wobbling since that deep funk on Nov. 9. Some years the anniversary of my twin's death just hits harder. I was already weary from the surgeries and unsupportive work situation. I confess that the election also weighed me down. Then a friend had a serious medical issue. Perfect storm. But I am ready to adjust my head and get a jumpstart on 2017 being an even healthier year.
How: celebrate where I am; make a list in my journal of 3 ways I am healthier and 3 small steps that help me stay that way
Mj- tis the season, fa la la la la... also love your red napkin analogy. We must have been on the same wave length yesterday--every dish for supper was extra spicy. It also helps me to plan for lots of color and texture in my vegetables, plus to have lots of healthy snacks on hand.
Ann- that's a great way to look at the situation. Reframing makes all the difference. That said, it isn't always easy to get to that point at first. Different soups, different sandwiches, different fruits, & different vegetables-- that is what I have been thinking lately. Let us know if you find any interesting recipes. I was thinking about checking out EmilyBites. Seems like lots of posters on Connect find great recipes there.
Naomi- enjoy your visit!!!

Great plan, June. I am going to make the butternut squash soup that was in one of the WW'er weekly handouts awhile back. It's zero points and I'm ALL over THAT lol. Sounds like you have a great plan, June. I know that you can do it....one baby step at a time. ((hugs))

Internet keeps going in and out. Ann – I hear you. Sometime you just have to put one foot in front of the other until you see you are headed where you want to go. I love soups but the sodium (even with low sodium broth) is still killer for me. Bee – You’ve got plenty of company. MJ – I agree that strong flavors amp up the satisfaction level. I just made a batch of lemon artichoke pesto that is good on just about anything and only 1 pt. per generous serving. Once that is gone it will be either arugula chimichurri or chermoula. LOL on the red napkin! Naomi – Was it a surprise? Enjoy your visit! June – When life hits you all at once, it can take a while to recover. You may not have been doing the hard work but you haven’t lost ground either. That’s the important part. I like Emilybite and Skinnytaste. My current favorite is the banh mi rice bowls from Skinnytaste. I also love her cheesy jalapeno popper stuffed chicken. fooddonelight.com/artichoke-lemon-pesto/

Good Morning I have the fancy luncheon today. Wine is served but I will have water and tea. Ann, I sit down and think about recipes I have not used in a while or ones we like in cold weather, sketch out dinner ideas and then make the shopping list. It helps avoid the rut. Bee, have a lovely day. MJ, I agree. This is not a two week binge eating holiday but there are certain events on certain days that involve food and beverage we do not ordinarily eat. Now that DH retired from his hospital job we do not have those endless heavy hors d'oeurves buffets. Our only related party is a traditional Christmas Eve dinner hosted by a doctor and his wife who are the kindest warmest people. We see so many people we would not see during the year. That is why I pushed back our family "Christmas Eve" to the 23rd. We always used to miss this event. The great thing is desserts are off in a separate room and there is good food for the buffet. So my events this week are the luncheon at the women's club today and taking my two closest friends to lunch on Saturday. Nothing in that says I need to stray too far from plan. DH and I are going to dinner Friday but it is at a restaurant that has good choices. Naomi, enjoy the time with your son. June, I love your idea of reframing. It is so easy to let the sadness continue but it seems like you are forming a good plan now. Do you have much time off during the holidays? Susi, I love the banh mi rice bowls too because they are so filling. I am a huge fan of both sites. Another food site is one Laura uses called yummylife I think. Need to look it up. Anyway try sheet pan fajitas or Asian chicken and vegetables. Skinnytaste has a fabulous recipe for Greek chicken and vegetables done on a sheet pan. So easy and you can add the vegetables you like. Last night's concert was pre school, transitional and kindergarten. Charlotte is in kindergarten and was so good. She really got into the singing and expressions and of course waved to us in between songs. Today at the luncheon we will be entertained by the children from Bullard Talent, a magnet elementary school and they are very talented. That is the fun part of the holidays. Hi Tammary and all who follow.

I just want to share my GREAT news....the oncologist has a cancellation for tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. When the gal from my surgeons office called with the details I told her that I'd be there with BELLS on lol. Best part of it is I don't have to go to that OTHER place where my old surgeon was affiliated with.
God is good and I feel blessed.....
Thanks for listening.
Susi those recipes sound great. I need to get back to those websites. I tend to get lazy and I need to mix things up a bit. I'm thinking of getting skinny taste fast and slow...I believe that's her newest book.
Audrey I would NOT be able to pass up the vino. Good job and have fun!

Ann, that's great news! Keeping the prayers & good thoughts going...
DayJob new-for-me "timekeeping system" has failed. I went in to "punch for lunch" and the log-in screen is messed up so the system does not recognize me <booHoo>. My manager referred it to IT at 12:30 central time and it's still not fixed. And they wondered why this change was so distressing to me? They're messin' with my paycheck IN DECEMBER, f'heaven'Sake.

Ann, that is excellent news. It all works out. Yes, I did pass up champagne and punch but the dessert was a very small piece of black forest cake. I ate the cake and left the whipped cream. I can have wine or champagne any time because we have hundreds of bottles of home but I can't drink wine during the day and be productive afterward.
