Good morning
Thanks for the well wishes for my son. It was a LONG day. It was so confusing. Between the surgeons office and the hospital he was given 3 different times to show up. He went with the last update from the surgeons office and on the way the hospital called and said where are you. When he told them they said no problem don't get upset. So we get there and he is in the room at 12:00 getting IV, etc. Does not go back to surgery until 4:00! Crazy
He did really well (was very nervous with it being he's first surgery). First night was rough, but next day he is on his way and doing good.
I need to catch up and I'll bbl

Good morning, Brenda - thanks for the start. Is DS at home or still in the hospital? I am so happy it went well even with the time confusion. Lori - A Christmas cocktail party sounds wonderful. I have been watching food network a lot and have seen so many wonderful drinks, Valerie Bertanelli made one she called a LOL martini, it had lemon, orange and lime. Then Giada makes fun pretty drinks. Please let me know what drinks you are making, I might try to copy.
Louis - I have painted my whole house gray and I love how fresh and clean it looks, plus every color goes with grey.
You are not going to believe this but I have more painting to do, the entry closest was wood and the new realtor wants it white to match everything else, plus the trim around it and another door. So I am painting and scraping today. He also wants the staircase painted white. I see his point that it should all match, my next house will have all natural wood trim and doors. So no gym today, just lots of work. Debbie

Good morning.
I hope DS is on the mend and heading home, Brenda.
I can't imagine how row it's been for you and your parents, Lori. Don't forget to take care of you.
I'd have a cocktail party, but that that'd involve sharing my booze. And probably cleaning the house. Neither of which I'm inclined to do.
Debbie - it seems to me like you two could start a new business residential painters by the time you're done getting your house into shape.
I have WW training this afternoon to get the details on the plan we've been living on for a while now. They used to give us science first and then put it into practice. Nowadays, it's the other way around.

Happy Saturday,
Thanks for starting us, Brenda. Sheesh, nothing like getting the runaround about the arrival time. I also would have thought that the most recent update would be the one to go with. I'm glad that it went well and that DS is on the road to recovery. You both needed a good night's sleep after Thursday's events.
Hi Lori, more hugs going out to you and your family. I'm sure that your parents appreciate your support. This is a really tough time for all of you, I have no doubt. Best wishes with the cocktail party planning.
Hi Debbie, DH and I picked gray/white as our neutral tones vs tan/beige when we had our current house built. It was both funny and frustrating going to pick paint and flooring. Our builder sometimes would build spec homes and his wife (who made the selections) always went the tan/beige route. I am glad that we went with gray/white, it just suits us better. You and DH are master painters, I am sure.
Hi Lou. I hope you tanked up on caffeine for the training. Not sure why, but even when it was super engaging, I would still have a hard time staying awake just sitting there listening. Thank goodness there was usually some activity to help, along with my travel coffee mug. Understand about the executive tendencies, I think that when you do a particular work role for a long time it is hard to stifle that. Your paint color choice sounds good to me.
Waving hi to Vicki ~~~
None of my walking buds wanted to meet today, and after yesterday's migraine I decided to forgo the alarm clock. I really didn't sleep all that late. It was dreary and rainy when I got up so WATP + resistance band was an easy choice, FPs are good for today. Now the sun is thinking about coming out, but I think it is just a brief tease. DH and I will go out to dinner later. I have been doing laundry and miscellaneous chores around the house. I may run an errand just to have an excuse to get a Starbucks skinny mocha.
Later, Ginia

Hi, Louis - so WW no likes to start people on a adventure then train the leaders after a few months, so smart. I hope you had a fun weekend. Virginia - you have earned a sleep in day plus it sounds like it has been a productive day as well. Have a relaxing dinner date with DH.
My house is now popcorn free! Now I just have to get the texture, paint guy to set a date to show up. I thought we had agreed on the 6th but I am not versed in construction lingo. Today I got the final coat coat of white old paint on the entry closet door, it does look better. I start painting the stair railing in the same white. I really thought I would hate it but it looks so new and fresh. We proposed selling half the house to DD and her boyfriend, that is what they can afford. Ted will talk to a lawyer and see what that will include. Then we could get rid of the storage unit, have a place to keep my car and a place for us to stay when we visit. Debbie

Hi, Debbie, congrats on removing all the popcorn. Our ceilings are textured but not popcorn. Not sure if those are also considered passe' or not, but since we aren't looking to sell anytime soon we are okay. Selling 50% of your house to DD and her DB sounds like a nice, creative solution that could work for everyone. I think it is wise to check with an attorney. Hopefully your paint guy will show up tomorrow. I think construction/remodel/handyman people march to their own drum with schedules. I got up early today to get a workout in before going to meet DS#2. I was out of the shower, dressed and nearly ready to go when he called to reschedule as he's not feeling well. So, I changed gears and did a few things around the house, read the newspaper and went to work for awhile to get some deadline items completed. I'm back home and it feels good to have those deadline items done Laundry is nearly complete and most of my prep for the workweek is done. We may get severe weather this evening and tonight. We are under a tornado watch now. Hopefully nothing severe will materialize. Waving hi to Brenda, Lou, Lori and Vicki. I hope all are well. Take care, Ginia
