I swear, since my husband stopped smoking 3 1/2 years ago - he's almost impossible to please at the dinner table. He no longer likes half the meals he once did like before. It's crazy.
The other night I cooked chicken breast with mushrooms and bell peppers. He ended up cooking himself Top Ramen - whatever! But now I was stuck eating chicken & vegetable for dinner and 2 lunches (yesterday & today).
There a many vegetarian dishes that I'd LOVE to try, but I know I'll end up having to eat the entire item myself for a week (for example, I found a neat recipe for a butternut squash "meatloaf" - but he would never touch it).

Are you full/satisfied after their meals? I am more of a portion person - I need that full feeling. I often save 3 or 4 points for late at night and will often take a bag of popped popcorn to bed with me while watching late night TV before going to sleep. The portions are not huge (they can't be---this is calorie control, lol) and they encourage "volumizing" with "free" veggies. You also add your own fresh fruit but fruit is not "free" at JC. They have a Loaded Baked Potato that I love. I add mashed cauliflower to it to bulk it up, for example. Green salads with lite dressing on the side for the cheeseburger, sauteed onions and mushrooms to the Swedish meatballs, etc, etc, etc. Their foods are quite high in protein and fiber, generally, so they try but sometimes I need that "stuffed" feeling. I pretty much always add my own veggies and salads to the meals. I like popcorn too---JC has a popcorn snack but I don't buy it. I make a 100 calorie PopSecret bag of popcorn (portion control!!) quite often and count it as a snack in my JC program.

Cristi, I love to cook and have always made things that my husband would never eat. I freeze meals in single-serve sizes and pull them out when I want them. Right now, I have chicken tikka masala, curried pumpkin sweet potato soup, turkey soup, and other stuff in my freezer that he would die before eating. All good for meals-on-my-own, btw---I input the recipes into an online recipe analyzer and their counts were all okay as far as calorie and nutrition. My husband likes stuff PLAIN. His go-to seasoning is salt, salt, and more salt. He likes meat and potatoes, but not mashed potatoes. Chicken soup is broth, chicken meat, and noodles. Loves chocolate and is a carb addict. But it's all good. We've both adapted and neither one of us thinks much of our differing food needs or wants.

My husband is soooo boring when it comes to dining. Meat & potatoes (he prefers white rice though), no gravy - he doesn't even like his food items to touch each other. I keep wanting to buy him one of those kiddie divider plates! LOL

When I'm tracking, I count calories & track on LoseIt. I doubt I'll ever do WW again as long as they use a point system. For me, it's too easy to take in more calories than I need for my age & lack,of exercise. I did like the Exchange Plan, though. I'm another one who does way better with preportioned meals. I lose more when I eat frozen dinners augmented with veggies at least 5 nights a week. I've been trying to eat healthier but frankly it's pretty boring and time consuming to cook just for me, especially as I dislike leftovers and have issues getting those leftovers into the freezer or fridge instead of my piehole. If I cook 2 chicken breasts, 1for today,1 for tomorrow, the odds are not in my favor that the 2nd piece lasts till the following day. And speaking of chicken...I am sick to death of it!

I'm doing a local program which provides meal plans and one-on-one support. I've been doing it since Dec. 15 and I'm down 4.8.
It's quite pricey, but I think it's worth it.
It's all very healthy and balanced.

I'm a former WW member (last membership was in 2010) and I'm doing the old WW Momentum program - points based on calories, fat and fiber. This program worked well for me when I followed it in 2009-2010 and has been working well again this time.
I also try to keep an eye on my calorie intake.

I go to WW meetings (I'm free lifetime) and calorie count at MFP. I keep track of my WW points, but I pay more attention to my average calorie deficit than I do anything else.

I've been doing Loseit religiously since last May when my BP went up. I've lost 30 + lbs counting my calories . Did gain back 6 over November/ December but it's gone now. For me counting calories is the way to go because there's no food penalties. Life without dessert isn't an option for me and I find I can work anything into my day if I want to . (In moderation)
I love the support of the boards and Loseit is kinda quiet although there is a Weight Watchers Refugee group that I'm part of. Nice to hear I'm not the only one not counting points anymore. Kind of a shame - WW has been my go to program for almost 25 years.

We’re all doing some form of dieting and, presumably, counting. WW, to me, is now just another counting plan with smaller numbers than calorie counting.
Saying that the GHGs are no longer needed because healthy eating is built into the plan, WW has baffled me. Especially when their esteemed spokesperson/10% owner Oprah is on the TV repeatly crowing about eating bread and drinking wine, etc. If people pick up on that “eat anything” attitude from the ads, just how does that replace the GHGs?!
Personally, I count calories and am currently back-posting quick-added SPs to WW based on total NI for each meal.

Apparently your DH does know how to fend for himself, at least minimally. So if you want something, make it. If you tire of it before it is gone, pitch it.
DH is probably reacting, in part, to a virtual black hole caused by the nicotine additiction which isn’t getting filled. I remember when I quit that no matter what or how much I ate that hole never got plugged. I finally discovered that sucking on peppermint Starburst mints did the trick; I sucked those things when I had a craving for two years and then, one day, realized I hadn’t had a mint all day—the addiction was gone.
