!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.

Amy: Yay for tracking!
Well, I was up a pound. For 2 weeks I have written, too much beer and wine. Yesterday I was AF and tracked and got my blue dot. My knee has been bothering me so I may not be able to get my steps in, but I will be AF and tracking. Who else is with me???

Good morning! Sorry I've been AWOL and it sounds like we all have been on the run! I fully intended to catch up yesterday but the internet went down at the office before I could post and didn't come back on until it was time to go to an afternoon meeting. Then I stopped after work to get my hair trimmed. I hadn't slept well at all the night before so I basically crashed when I got home. The rest of this week is going to be busy with church Christmas program rehearsals on Thursday and Friday night then performances twice on Saturday and then on Sunday evening. I know I'm going to be whipped by the time that's over!
Amy - glad you are home safe!
GG - yay for being AF and getting your blue dot!
Jan - I am just so excited about your move!
Carole - LOL at having your house decorated like Christmas Vacation! Seems like people don't decorate the outside as much any more. I remember 20 years ago being able to make a night of driving around looking at all the lights.
hpeterson - sounds like your niece has you pegged! LOL Candles and fuzzy socks are a favorite for me too!

Liz - have you got your decorations up yet?
I am basically finished with my Christmas decorating. I need to pick up some gift bags and maybe a couple of gift cards to add to a couple of gifts. But that's it. Tonight I need to do some laundry and a little house cleaning since I won't be home much this weekend. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Murphy

Hi all, I was AF and SF yesterday. Today I have a head cold with a terrible cough. Might do a Hot Toddy tonight because I do believe in medicinal value

Good morning, Cold but sunny here today. I'll probably be wishing for this kind of "cold" next year at this time during a Wisconsin winter!! Looks like we'll really be making a change this year. Some times it keeps me up and night and sometimes I'm very excited Just have to get to it, clean a little day by day. Pack up things and throw out, we have time, but I know it will go fast. In a "perfect" world, DS would get into the Post bac program he applying to in Minnesota, even if it was only for a year, he would be a lot closer. Just happy he has an open mind and is applying everywhere so he can get in a one year program and keep moving forward. Eating is better today, yesterday was a carb craving crazy day. That seems to happen when I start the day with bread or pancakes, then can't stop. I need to stick to eggs, or cottage cheese. Will be great when the new program starts and eggs and most protein will be 0 points!! Going to start a new hat today, one for DS if it turns out big enough. Hope you all have a good day, Hugs. Hello friends! I went to cycling today, at one point I thought I was going to hyperventilate! I got some pictures printed---$100 worth! Then lunch with my db, then mammogram. Now rest on couch! Have a great night!
