Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

Good morning all! Today starts my busy time for the next 4 days. Choir rehearsal tonight and tomorrow night. Working on Saturday morning and then 2 performances that afternoon and evening. Church on Sunday morning, take Callie in for a pedicure afterward and then another performance at church that evening. I am sure I will crash after that!! LOL
Amy - isn't it amazing that people can't seem to function when you are gone?
Jan - If I were you, I'd already be planning how I would decorate the new house next Christmas! LOL
Carole - I need to call and schedule my mammo for the first of the year. Thanks for the reminder! UGH!
Can't believe it's the start of a new month tomorrow. 2017 really has flown by! Hope everyone has a great day! Murphy

Hello, Happy last day of November!!!! Wow this year has flown by! Not much news today, we packed a couple boxes yesterday and cleaned out the back bathroom, all cupboards etc. Threw away OTC meds from 2002!!! Shows how often we went through DS bathroom! Need to get out for a walk today, then some reading and knitting. Trying to get a few more Christmas presents done. Tomorrow I'm heading down to school for lunch and then maybe some shopping. Need to start wrapping my gifts that need mailing. Hope you all have a great day. Jan Amy Did you get a beach walk in today? Hope work is less crazy and you can get some things done. Murphy Ha, ha I've already "pinned" some ideas for next Christmas, how to decorate the staircase that has an open bannister Also maybe 2 trees, one "formal", white lights....my son always said no, and them another with all the regular kids ornaments and handmade Hope you get lots of sleep the next few days, enjoy the singing, really gets you in the holiday mood. Carole I'm thinking once back in the midwest I will have to find a gym or invest in at least a treadmill for the basement, need to toughen up to walk outdoors!! :0 Will check in later.

tatermom,- I love Pinterest. I have so much "pinned" it's ridiculous! Stuff for school, recipes, crafts, things for friends, hairstyles, clothes, etc! Very proud of myself today. Co-worker bought a pack of cigarettes and invited me out for a smoke. I said No! DH had me meet him at the pub for a quick dinner before he went to Mason's. I just ordered diet soda! I got my activity goal in for the day! So not only am I AF and SF- I actually faced the temptations head on and turned them down.

Hello friends! All week I thought I had to work until 3:15, while I was brushing my teeth I realized I didnt! I got to leave at 11:30! Went to target and took angel for a walk. I got $100 worth of pictures printed yesterday so I organized them today. I can't figure out how to make a calendar on the computer so I get the picture scanned, put on a hard drive and then make it from there. I don't watch the news, my boss told me today about Matt Lauer, I was quite surprised. Have a great night!
