!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

Good morning all! Happy Friday and December 1st! Last month of the year and it's going to be a great one! Good practice last night and I slept pretty well but I imagine that it is going to start catching up to me!
Amy - hope you didn't oversleep much!
hpeterson - I have so much on my Pinterest Boards! I can get "lost" on there for a long time!
Carole - I'm just so heartsick over all the people who are being accused of sexual stuff. It makes you wonder why in the world they thought that kind of behavior was ok?? I'm getting to the point that I don't even want to read the news anymore.

Happy 12th month of the year......rabbit rabbit rabbit. My ds will turn 24 this month, where has the time gone!!! Didn't get all my steps in yesterday but at least got an exercise bar on my fitbit, trying to do better than that today. Heading down to school for my "free lunch" will walk the park and bike trail while I'm down there. Was not AF the past few days, the first of the month seems like a good day to start again. Have 3 more bags ready to go to the thrift store, little by little we'll get it done. Have a great day all and embrace the "festivities" Hpeterson You are doing great on you resolve to be AF and SF. I know the last few days I've just used it as an excuse to turn off my brain, but I can't "afford" to do that right now, so will need to find another way to relax and get things done. Maybe I should actually work on some off all those projects I have pinned!!! Murphy Glad the rehearsal went well and you got some sleep. I don't like to watch the news either, hard to avoid though. Carole Yay for getting off work early and getting your pictures printed. It used to be so easy with film, now there are so many, on the phone, camera, computer, I never know which ones I've printed and what I should delete. Are you working on a specific scrap book? Amy Hope you made it to work on time, do you miss your walk when you oversleep, or just shorten it or go after work? Maybe you can sleep in this weekend! GG Is it GM day? murphy1288,- I've got so much stuff on Pinterest. I agree it is a huge time waste, but I have very limited social media. Basically just this site and Pinterest, so I figure it's OK. murphy1288,- I agree about the news. It's getting so hard to watch. My local isn't much better, we have 3-4 murders in the local two counties almost every week. Just so sad.

Hi girls. Today is NOT GM Day and I say YAY!!! Ds was off today so I didn't need to go. I'm actually getting things done! Still tracking, getting my blue dots, and AF. I did get my steps in yesterday, but unless I get moving, I won't today.
Amy: I overslept yesterday! I forgot to,set the alarm. That NEVER happens!
Murphy: Have fun!!
Jan: I need to get rid of stuff too. This is the perfect time for you!
HPeterson: way to go not having the smoke! Not an easy thing to do!
Carole: I do my calendars through Snapfish.
