Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

I have breakfast and lunch packed and tracked.
I have chicken thighs pulled out for dinner (looked up the points) and will make a healthy side to go with it.

Good morning all! Well I survived the weekend! LOL The programs all went fantastic but I'm glad we are through. I was so tired that I overslept yesterday morning and this morning too! I look forward to a very quiet evening today and will be turning in very early! I did cook the spaghetti squash in the crock pot yesterday and it turned out pretty good! After I cooked it, I pulled out the strands and put them in a towel lined colander to help drain some of the excess water out and that seemed to be a good idea. Of course no one would ever mistake it for real pasta but it was pretty darned good! I mixed it with some cooked chicken, broccoli and cheese and baked it in a casserole. I'll do it again.
Amy - BOTATTIRMI!!! LOL Another "Kim'ism"!
hpeterson - the church I used to be at always held a Christmas Memorial service and I went the two years that I had just lost my parents. Very special and moving!
GG - have a fun Grandma day! I think it is so wonderful that Addie wanted to come spend the time with you!
Carole - can you send Jeff to my house? My oven needs cleaning too and I'm sure I could find some other things for him to do! LOL
Jan - what did you do for the weekend? How long is DS there? Will he be there on Christmas?
We are supposed to get some colder weather this week and I'm glad because I'll be firing up the crock pot with some soup! Everyone have a great day! Murphy

Good morning friends, kind thoughts right back at you Amy and all Quiet day here yesterday, not many steps. I tried to go downtown to see the Santa parade but there were SO many people and now where to park. I gave up and came home. Did some knitting and reading, we packed a couple more boxes and just are doing things bit by bit. Today DH has to go to Home Depot to get some more boxes and I will drive to the mall to meet my friend for walking and lunch. That will be soup and salad for me. Yesterday I printed out the new list of WW foods that are zero points, I don't get my "Info" until my meeting on Sat. but I think I will like the program. See if it fires me up again That's about it for now, hope you all have a good week and do the things that bring you joy. Murphy Get some good sleep tonight. The crock pot idea sounds good, time for chili and soups out here too. DS is back at school and will be home again @ the 16th. Then it will be full on clean out his bedroom!! Sure he"ll be thrilled Amy Glad you got the tree up. I think we are passing on outside lights this year DH is happy about that. Funny how that tracking really works!! GG Have fun with that baby. Anxious to hear how your members feel about the new program. Have you been on it as a test run? I know all the programs "work" if you stay out of the A and sweets Oh, and TRACK! Ha Hpetersen Good job getting back on track!! I have an after school TGIW this week, at a bar with friends, and a Girl's night holiday party. Trying to get my head around a plan now! I know I don't want to drive in the dark after the girls night so that is my best defense. I will go enjoy the company. Carole Love it when the house gets a deep clean. We are finding lots of hidden dust, tops of picture frames etc. Of course after all the work you don't want to move because everything looks so nice Post a pic of your garland, I have lots of ornaments I didn't put up, maybe I could make something. Well hello there ladies! Yes, I'm still around and I'm trying (again) with WW. It was lovely having my niece here for 6 weeks but it was NOT good for my weight! She's a slim 25 year old and I'm not So, trying again with WW. Look forward to catching up with everyone and hello to hpeterson. Helen
