Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

Good morning all! I decided to make chili last night instead of soup and it was so good! I'm having leftovers tonight!
Amy - I bet you will always take an extra couple of steps before you get in bed! LOL
Carole - was your chili good too?

Jan - I missed your pictures. Are they on FB?
Liz - what is that proverb something about if you are resolved to do something, it is done? That's where we need to be!
Helen - how are the kids doing?

Hi all, Yesterday was another Smoke/Alcohol/Binge free day!. Had popcorn for a snack, but measured and tracked it. I did have a 14 point cupcake today, but I tracked it and moved on. Going out to dinner with a co-worker before the school choir concert so no alcohol there because I'm coming back to work. I really need to take an inventory of the food I have in the freezer. That will make meal planning a lot easier in the next few weeks! -I need to do this also. Not planning is probably one of my biggest problems with eating healthy. Have a good day everyone

Hello! Hope you are all having a good day. I will be heading down the hill to school in a bit to work the book fair. May head over to Kohl's for a bit and snoop around, have a coupon you know After school we are all going out, my plan is one beer, share a hot pretzel, because they are so good where we're going, and then soda water with cranberry juice. There is no wine in the house so I know if I follow my plan I am good. I plan to check in tonight and be held accountable!!!! Need to get on the good track like HPeterson!! Then I just have tomorrow night's party, don't plan to drink there because I don't want to drive after, and I hate driving in the dark already, so no A. No other big plans for now. Just enjoying each day and feeling grateful for all we have. Love the TOTD AMY!!!! Will be back later. Jan

Need to get on the good track like HPeterson!! -- Thanks for the kind words Jan. I will admit that right now the only reason I will stay AF tonight is that I have to come back to school for the concert after dinner! It will be tempting to drink when I get home, but I know it will be late and I'll be able to just go to bed. I have had a kiddo going off ever since 8:00. He's had about 20 minutes for lunch that he was calm and that was it. He's thrown 25 pencils, tipped three tables, hit me in the stomach. I'm not hurt, but absolutely exhausted! It just never ended!!
