!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! November 1 - December 31
CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

Hi all, Yesterday was Af and Binge free. But I did have two cigarettes with a friend. I bought the pack since it was "my turn", but I kept them in my trunk so I would not be tempted to have one on the drive home last night or drive in this morning.
I was able to stay within my points, which I was really happy with.
I've started a bullet journal with all sorts of habits for each month. Track if each day is SF/AF/ Binge free, etc. So I just tracked yesterday's smoke like I would anything else and moved on.
This is really helping me. Acknowledging slips, not obsessing and just going on to the next moment

Hi girls. WHAT A WEEK! I'm beat!! But it's all good! Everyone seems excited about Freestyle. I'm doing well. I have been AF and getting my blue dots, but not my steps. I need to work on that. I have 2300 more to go for tonight. Just not sure I'll get there.
I'm not sure if I am needed tomorrow to watch Addi. I won't be sorry if I can stay home. But I won't be sorry if I go either!!
Just wanted to check in.
Carole: I saw where you had asked if you can pick your own goal. Yes you can. But if you want to be a "free" lifetime member, then that goal would need to be within the range WW gives. Or you can get a doctors slip.
Have a great night all!

Fly by, getting ready to head down to the girls christmas party. Yesterday went pretty well, followed my plan going out, one beer and shared a pretzel. DH did buy wine and I had a glass when I got home. Today we have spent all day cleaning and packing. I went through 12 years of the DS school work and art!! Yikes. Kept some of his school work, and got all the cute MUST save art from pre school - 1st or so in a small art folder. Filled the garbage, recycle, extra bag and now have 3 totally empty closets, linen closet, tv room, and more bags for thrift. Whew. I'm tired and will probably visit with the girls a couple hours and then head home!!! DH is on FIRE, and on a roll. He said it woke him up last night.....what are we doing!!?? But he's still on board, just wants to get ahead of the packing. Will check in tomorrow, hugs and hi to all. Jan
