Good morning! My part of south Texas is going to miss the nasty cold and ice that has hit further north. So glad to miss it.
I'm off to the gym this morning and then no other plans. I think DH will be watching football this afternoon so I'll probably watch a little of it too.
Have a good weekend!

Good morning everyone
Looking forward to a mind resting weekend. Deco world has been rough to say the least. The general contractor the designer uses keeps making big mistakes that I catch and get fixed. Yesterday was the last straw. Caught another big error with the nitches measurements. Thank goodness the cement had not gone on the walls when I discovered it. Tile guy had to rip out all the chicken wire and tar paper in that area to redo what he was instructed to do wrong by the contractor. Unbelievable.
My avatar shows niches. They will be 12" heigh and 8" wide when finished with tile in them. Can't believe how hard it was to get them all same size and balanced in the space. Literally took hours. They did them 3 times. They finally look right.
Pulling the custom closet doors from him and maybe the new baseboards if his company is the one doing them. Thank goodness I have not ordered products yet for both jobs. After he builds the wood niche where the medicine cabinet was, I am finished with him. I already ordered materials for that and price was good. It's pretty basic so he should not mess it up.
I am sure the designer is so embarrassed. She really pushed for her contractor to do the work. So glad I went with my own plumbing company and my own cabinet company. Now need to get my own wood worker for closet doors and baseboards.
Since I am the main general contractor for this project I have control over who comes in here. It's just a lot if work pulling it all together. I am very mentally tired.

Good morning and happy Saturday, too.
Just finished errands and checked out a year round farmer's market about 20 minutes from here. Very nice building and recognized some vendors. Now it is time for chores. Do not envy those getting ice. We had some this past week - not fun. Getting ready for a three day weekend. When I worked in the private sector, Monday holidays were rare so I appreciate the perk.

Back to my green zone today. Also the gut is getting back to normal after Christmas. And my exercise is getting back to normal. I did upper body (weight machines ) twice the past 2 weeks and will get back to 3xweek next week. And I did my lower body 3x which is normal. Fencing practice WF. I think when everything normalizes I'll be comfortably in the green most of the time. Eating those f&v is essential.

decolady How frustrating that the gen. contractor can't or won't do the work correctly. Thank goodness you are there to catch these errors but that designer should not use him again. That could really hurt her business to have such incompetence with her name on the work. Good luck finding a wood worker to do the closet and baseboards. Finding people who know what to do and then will actually do it is so hard. Love the pictures though, esp. since I learned how to make the picture bigger in your avatar (on my PC, I hit ctrl and the + sign)

Tammy I agree that the f/v are a key to my success for weight loss. In addition to the fiber, the nutrients in them are so important. Glad your weight has settled down; it's taken a long time for you to get back to your comfort range. Good job!

Tammy - congrats on getting back in the zone. You are doing wonderful
Colleen - enjoy your 3 day holiday. Glad our contractors do not recognize it and it's just a normal work day for them. Counter and 2 sinks install on Monday in master. Tile guy in guest bathroom all day Monday.
Linda- she has been using him for 8 years. She loves him. I don't understand it at all. Simple measurements seems to be his downfall. The actual work is gorgeous.
So glad I am back to tracking and measuring. I feel better eating right. I was eating healthy.. My portions were out of whack. So far no stress eating during this remodeling. I do think I have corrected this and stress eating might not be an issue any more.
Been getting rid of more stuff while packing up the house for flooring replacement. Feels good to lighten up the house more. Yay Marie Kondo. 😀😀😀

decolady Since the designer loves him so much she should check and see if he needs glasses or possibly he is dyslexic? He sounds experienced but doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes. "Measure twice, cut once" is a mantra I always heard. At least the stress hasn't caused you to over eat.

Checking in
Great news Tammy!
I'm definitely feeling better these last two weeks being totally OP with no unsanctioned treats.
Hope everyone enjoys the day!

Good afternoon and Happy Saturday all.
We ran errands this morning and I got in most of my steps. My knee was kind of iffy but I was trying to get in additional steps each hr so I am riding my exercise bike 10 min each hr for 4 hrs and it seems the knee likes the brief spurts rather than a longer time on the bike.It seems to be helping.
Congrats Tammy for getting back in your green zone.
I agree with the f&v(mostly the veggies)helping with weight loss.I lost .8 last week but darn they reduced my weeklies from 28 to 21.I guess it's good I don't make a practice of using them.

Yeah, I love the 0 points f&v. It's one reason that I would hesitate to count calories. If I had to count calories for f&v, I might never eat another f or v. Let's face it, for 25 calories, I had rather have a 3 musketeers mini than a cup of green beans. But the f&v are really the key.

Actually I heard that what you said is the reason WW made fruit zero points. When the choice was between an apple or a WW treat for two points most people were choosing the processed carb treat.

Judy, I think one of the downfalls of maintainers is that when they get a few extra points, they cut back on f&v. And I think that is ok if it works, because at that point, the maintainer is switching from losing to maintaining. But when the maintainer starts struggling, he/she needs to add back in those f&v. And for some reason, most people forget to do that.
