!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! November 1 - December 31
CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

Good morning all! Just sitting here enjoying my coffee for a little bit. I'm going to go into work for a couple of hours later. One of the techs needs me to proctor her annual competency exam and I'll get a bit of paper work done. Going to do a little cooking this afternoon and then stand out in the cold this evening for caroling! I'll be sure to dress in layers and they said there will be some propane heaters close by so hopefully we won't be too cold! LOL
Amy - tell me which body pillow you bought. I need to check it out.
Carole - so sorry about Diane! What kind of rehab? Just wondered if it was for substance abuse or for physical stuff. I pray the exam goes well today and by that I mean that I pray someone sees through her nonsense and makes sure she gets the help she needs.
Jan - good luck the with weigh in this morning! Yay for making progress on the packing! I suspect you will be ready to move quicker that you thought based on the progress you are making! Enjoy the time with DS!
Everyone have a great day! Murphy

Happy weekend!! Went to WI, down 1.6...yay freestyle because that was with lunches out and pizza for dinner last night. I know my extra walking is what got me through so excited to see how this week goes with better eating!! I know of 2 events this week so will work around them. My friend and her daughter are coming up Tuesday for early "celebration". We will make Christmas crack and some cookies, then have lasagna for dinner. Then DS birthday is Friday, but he always wants healthy so shouldn't be a problem. Today we will focus on some yard work, cleaning out old flowers, getting some more things ready for the dump. Also want to finish my Christmas cards and drop a load at Snowline Hospice. That's the big excitement in California today! Hope you are all getting done the things you want and will have time to relax some too. Have a great day, Jan Murphy Have fun singing tonight. Hope someone will get some pictures! We need to go buy more boxes today!! Lots packed up! GG So cute to see the kids working at the table. Will they go home this afternoon? Many people at meeting this morning were excited about their first loss on the program. I still track everything, habit I guess. Amy Glad you got your shopping done. Much harder shopping for adult children I think, the lego set just doesn't cut it anymore! Carole Sorry about your MIL, brings down the holiday mood. Find something extra fun to do with the kids or for yourself today and don't let her get under your skin. Hi to all, I"ll check back in later.
