Good Morning,
While cross posting yesterday, I missed your major post. I'm glad the vet was able to relieve your stress about Clair's recovery. That is a great idea to have "themed" Christmas gift giving ideas. I'm trying to think about your tree being in the fireplace?
Tree company is to come today to fell the leaning tree which is a Cedar. There was miscommunication with free people, who seem nice enough, but communicated around me with estimator, whom I hired, about what would be done/not done, what would be left, what tree company would do...aka...what I would pay for! None of this was appropriate or correct by the way...editing...I think it's been resolved.
So I have clothes on, waiting for them , while try to finish painting cards.
Goals for today are to do cards, work on paper piles discussed yesterday and wrap a couple of presents. DS has completed the LEGO Christmas Village sets (this is a big job, there are 5 very involved sets, and I love he still likes to do it, he's 16 YO) which set on two shelves cleared in the family room. I need to string the fairy lights around them now.
More later. Hope your day is off to a good start.

Card Update: I really do like the look of the red only on the cards. But DS said they didn't look very festive but he also doesn't really get that Nutcrackers are associated with Christmas. I typically don't change color schemes on our cards, I like them to all be the same. However, I have added a yellow cord on the hat and buttons, blue for the scrolly part on the coat, red collar and boot tops. This also looks fun and I will finish the remainder this way. Oh well.

I think the Nutcracker is delightful! I checked out what the Village looks like again this year--just so special.
Not very much accomplished today. I finally got through that pile of papers that I have had for quite a while sitting in the kitchen (some from mid August) wrote checks, got on the internet on and on. It took a long time and I am really glad I finished that!
I tried to think what I could do so that I would not have to even think about the Christmas tree with the puppies so I bought a tiny artificial one, decorated it and put it in the fireplace that had candles in it. The fireplace has glass doors which is perfect for keeping puppy paws away. Best is that I do not have to have anxiety over the decorations. The Nativity Scene I put on top of a very nice storage chest and then put that on top of the hearth making it high up enough and out of the way. It looks much better than it sounds. Mission accomplished. I left all the things that have great sentimental value in the storage bins--best not to have an accident with them.
Just finished yoga. Time to relax.
Hope you are having a wonderful evening. Those fairy lights would make that Christmas Village look so cute.

Fairly good day for me today.
Accomplished:
Walked Clair three times and Samson once. All short walks so that wasn't too difficult. Two loads of laundry Worked on a clogged sink Replaced a light bulb Did some Kitchen chores that took several hours Cleaned bath and bedroom Decluttered-- 1/2 trash bag of clothes, dog bed, dog crate Got my Amazon order done Decided I would calculate my bank balance--head in sand on that one. Reduced the left over pile of papers by two Looked on line for possible gifts Cleaned out my car and cleaned the dog art off the windows Drove a bunch of trash down to the gates. One was a decluttering bag. Drove to pick up the mail Replenished items in the kitchen Trained Clair--but since she is recovering from surgery we are just gambling. She loves! to gamble. She has a number of toys that treats are put in then she opens drawers, pushs things, lifts off items to get the treats. Trained Samson. He is beyond cute!
11,208 steps today and OP. I have weighed and recorded my weight every day for 161 days consecutively. I was surprised that this daily weighing got me to think about "one day at a time". So now I just get on day done. Weigh in the morning and then start the next day. It feels like a fresh start each day. I am excited that an improvement could be made in my Program. This came about from reading about the Beck book on these message boards. Just chatting because I am so excited when program get easier and stays that way.
Hope you are are having a great day!!!
