!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! November 1 - December 31
CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

Good morning all! The caroling last night was fun but so cold! I tried to layer up - long underwear, fleece lined leggings, fleece top, heavy coat. But I only wore one pair of socks and my feet were frozen! If it doesn't rain tonight, we are going back and I will be wearing at least 2 pair of socks in my boots!
Amy - it cracks me up that you are talking about walking barefoot on the beach and I'm talking about wearing 2 pair of socks! LOL
Jan - woo hoo for being down at the scales!
I'm just enjoying my coffee this morning and sitting here looking at the Christmas tree. Very peaceful morning. I'll head to church after while but no real plans for the afternoon. I'll check in later. Hope everyone has a great day! Murphy

Good morning! I blew my blue dot streak yesterday. Only because I didn't stop to think!! We ate out, and I made good choices and I was so proud of myself. Got home and I polished off the rest of the Chex Mix I bought for the kids. Then had a cookie! Under normal circumstances none of that would have been here! This morning I realized that I didnt get my dot. First one for December. Maybe my word for 2018 needs to be PAUSE and THINK! Oh well. Today is another day.
And today is Addi's Princess Party to celebrate her 4th birthday. How did that happen? It's also our Children's program at church. Fun day!
Enjoy!!

Good morning. Up early and just surfing the net while DH is still in bed No big plans for the day except walking and cleaning in the craft room. DS called last night and they are short staffed at work so he won't be able to come home until Wednesday I need to cancel his dentist appointment and try to reschedule. Oh well, the 3 extra full time days will be good for his paycheck! I'm thinking he will be a bit shocked to see all the closets etc empty around the house, now just boxes everywhere! Hope you all have a great Sunday..Jan Amy Ha ha about the bare feet, how warm did it get today? Like your word, Balance!!! Murphy Brr, nothing worse than cold feet. Hope today is warmer or you find some good wooly socks! I am also sitting enjoying my coffee and I need to go out and get our paper. Love a long Sunday morning with my newspaper and some java! GG Now the snacks are out of the house, move forward. Pause is a good word too. I finally got a blue dot yesterday, by the skin of my teeth, but getting the hang of it. Have fun at the birthday party!!

Hello friends! Another rant, dh and I saw diane yesterday. She was having a grand time with the nurses when we got there. I was mad already but this made me very angry. She refused her meds at the hospital the other day, so the nurse said she can only imagine what she's been doing at her assisted living place. She asked me if I was mad, (I guess I'm not a good poker player!) I said yes. I told her she is putting so much stress on jeff, I'm afraid he's going to have a heart attack. No remorse. I told her Jeff thinks she's weak but I think she's manipulative. That's when Jeff told me to stop. Anyway, I'll try for personals tomorrow I need to head to costco.

Oh Carole what an awful situation! I'm just chilling on the couch right now. I have my breakfasts and lunches prepped for the week. I'll be working Monday through Saturday this week and I know I'll be tired. The week of Christmas I'll work Tues through Saturday and then the week of New Years I'll only work Tuesday through Friday. This way I won't have to take any PTO for being off Christmas or New Years. Even though we are closed those days, you get docked 8 hours of PTO. They are pretty generous with vacation time though so I'm not complaining! It's been a good weekend. Lots of rest and still got stuff done. Everyone have a good night! Murphy
