!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.

On the way to pick up DD at work, I stopped at Ulta & Michaels. Ulta was pretty busy, but Michaels wasn't too bad. I guess people that are making stuff for Christmas already have their supplies. Anyway, all their Christmas stuff is 40-70% off. I got some ribbon and a pretty wreath.
The boys get here tomorrow- yay!

Murphy- Glad caroling was fun except for your cold feet. WTG coming up with a plan to save your PTO hours!
Jan- Sorry about DS's delayed return. We're back in our usual winter pattern of low around 70 degrees, high around 80 degrees.
Carole- Sorry about Diane. Santa should bring her a lump of coal...

Good morning all! Can't believe it's only 1 week till Christmas! I really do miss not being able to wake up with family or kids around on Christmas Day but I'll go to my sister's for lunch that day so I'll get to see the family. Callie and I may have to have a special breakfast that day! This week shouldn't be too busy. We are having ugly sweater days at the clinic on Friday and Saturday and that's always fun. Amy - I love the thought of the day! LOL I prepped my breakfasts and salads for lunch for the week and I'm determined not to get out of hand. But I do want to lose a few pounds after the holidays. Carole - I like Amy's idea of coal for Dianne for Christmas! Jan - sorry DS is delayed a few days but like you said the money will be good! GG - the pics on FB of the grands were adorable! You are a rich lady! I do need to plan some kind of appetizers to take to my sister's. We aren't going to do a huge dinner but just decided to have a spread of snacks and appetizers. I'm checking Pinterest out for easy things that will travel well since they live an hour away. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Murphy

Good morning, hope you are all feeling bright and bushy tailed on the Monday. I too love the TOTD but need to get started now! Yesterday AF, 11,000+ steps and pretty good choices, got my blue dot. Now to keep moving forward. Today I am making my toffee and some more Chex mix to give away, need to stay out of that!! My friend and her daughter are still coming for dinner tomorrow even though DS won't be home. Going to prep my lasagna today too so we can visit etc tomorrow. Will wrap a few more presents today and get out the last of my cards. Have a great day all. Murphy Glad it will be quiet at work. My sister is SO excited for our move to be closer. They don't have kids and she says it's hard to get in the spirit with just 2. Looking forward to having more of a "Family" holiday next year even if it's just 4 of us!! Have you looked on Pintrest at those cute veggie trays that they arrange to look like a Christmas tree, or there's a cute one that spells out Joy. Amy Glad the weather is back to "nice", were you barefoot today? Yay for the boys getting home, does everyone stay at your place? I might brave Michaels one more day this week, see what's on sale. Carole Coal it is!!! You can't fix it or change it, find time to breathe, relax and support DH as much as you can, but D can not move out of the living place......
