!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! November 1 - December 31
CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

Good morning all! I'm wearing my Christmas present to myself today. I bought a cashmere poncho from Macy's. Steal of a deal at only $39. I've never owned cashmere before. It's nice but I wouldn't pay more than that for it. When you are single, you look for any excuse to buy yourself a present! LOL
Amy - sorry you overslept but thanks for getting us going!
GG - Can't say that I've been doing a good job at tracking either! I'm AF but the only thing I'm tracking is seeing how high my calorie count is! LOL Oh it's not horrible but could certainly be better. Today I am having a protein shake for breakfast. I have a salad packed for lunch and I plan to bake chicken tenders and a zucchini for supper.
Jan - enjoy your friends coming for supper. DS comes home tomorrow or Thursday?
Liz, Cindy, Helen, Carole, hpeterson, - how are things going with everyone? Hi to anyone I've missed and hugs all around! Have a great day! Murphy

Good morning all, up and ready to go. I didn't get my chex done yesterday as the grocery was sold out of the nuts I wanted! By the time I got home and finished shopping it was after 4 and I was hungry!! I made toffee, DH made dinner and we left it at that. So this morning is Prepping dinner, wrapping more gifts for my friends and then we're meeting for a movie before coming back here for dinner. Going to see Wonder, read it with my kids @5 years ago. Now it's so popular and many schools are using it to teach kindness and acceptance. My school's 5th grade teachers went to see it with any kids that wanted to meet them over Thanksgiving break. Have to see if I think it's true to the book. Wasn't sure Owen Wilson was the right choice for the dad, we'll see That's the big plans here, DS won't be home til Wed. night I think or Thurs morning if he doesn't want to drive late after work. Will have to work in some steps some place to make up for sitting all afternoon. Have a good day all. Amy Sorry your overslept. Got your package yesterday, how much per stocking again? Love them, thanks! Murphy Your poncho sounds wonderful and just the right price. Sounds like good meals planned out for the day!! GG I do find on this program I have a good day and then a high point day. I keep tracking and will see how it all balances out. Off to get started on projects, Jan

Hi all, I"'ve been MIA for a little while. Doing well emotional and depression wise. Not doing very well food wise. Having about 1 cigarette every other day, sometimes I even throw it out when there's 1/2 of one left.
I had two drinks all weekend and one last night.
But tracking is just not happening right now.
I have something going on every night this week after school until about 8-9:00. I finally canceled my dental cleaning on Thursday so I'd have one day to do laundry, wrapping, and packing before we leave on Saturday.
Have a good week everyone
