!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! November 1 - December 31
CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

The boys got in safe and sound around dinner time- so good to have them here! DS #2 is sleeping in the same room as my desk, so I'm trying to type quietly.
We had a potluck at work yesterday- I ate too many calories, but didn't go crazy.

Good morning. I was up 1.2 this morning. I'm surprised it wasn't more. The meeting topic this week is to reality check your holidays. My reality check is that when I don't track, when I have A, and when I eat everything in sight, my weight goes up. I have 3 days of normalcy, and 4 days of celebrations this week. I can maintain if I am paying attention. I need to PAUSE and THINK!!
4 meetings today, choir practice and party, and I need to wrap. Busy, busy, busy!
Amy: Enjoy those boys!!
Carole: Hope you get to spend time with Alexis and hope the meds help quickly!!
HPeterson: When is school out?
Murphy: I read in the comments of First5 to pick a word for the year!! Yours works for both, as does mine!
Jan: I love that you have so much empty already! When do you plan on putting your house up for sale?
Gotta run!

Good morning all! It's a rainy day here and I think it's supposed to rain all day and much of the rest of the week. At least it isn't too cold!
Amy - so glad the boys got in safe and sound. Enjoy your time with them!
Carole - a UTI is horrible! Hope the meds have kicked in by now!
GG - you have a busy day! I like both our work for the year! I printed mine out and have it in a frame in my walk in closet so I see it when I'm getting dressed. I also made a vision board in my 2018 planner with some other goals and that's something I'm excited about.
Jan - I was wondering when you would put the house up for sale too. I still think you are going to wind up moving quicker than you originally though you would.
Need to wiggle. Everyone have a great day! Murphy

A Happy Wednesday to all.....Indeed my morning has already been blessed. When I came out to the kitchen I found DS bag of food and things he brought with him. He must have snuck in quietly because I had no clue he came home last night sometime! Yay, early present for me! The movie yesterday was good, a few tears, good message, enjoyed it. We had a nice dinner, sent home lots of lasagna with my friends and had a few laughs over memories shared. It will be sad to leave many friends, but I hope to make many more and with the internet these days at least we will keep in touch. It's all crazy anyway, this girlfriend is someone I met in the late 70's at a summer camp in Colorado. We both have moved all over and just happened to both end up in northern California. She never married but had a daughter a year and a half after I had Tate, so we've shared many adventures together. I know we'll meet up again! The house question is up in the air, the plan is to list at the beginning of March, things will be blooming, will have some time to get the yard looking good. I guess if it sold quickly we would move and just fly back for graduation instead of just hanging around. I figure it's all in "Good" hands and will work out as needed. Hope you all have a great day. Jan Amy No worries about the stockings, they are so cute! Glad your boys got home safely too. Carole Hope you're feeling better with the meds. have fun with all the kids around! GG Pause and Think! Yep, when you work the plan, it works....ha, how amazing. I've had some blue dots this week so better than last. See how it shows up on Saturday. Good luck with all your meetings and wrapping. Murphy Love the idea of framing your word and vision board. I need to make a new one, or put it in my journal like you. Hpetersen Counting down the days? Hang in there, on your time off maybe you can focus on YOU. Hi to all.

The school doesn't get out until Friday and yes, it's a full day!!! I really should not complain because most people only get the actual holiday off (DH had to take Tuesday off so we can travel). But after today I'll take anything I can get.
I had a kiddo go off for 2 1/2 hours and have 152 acts of self injurious behavior- hitting her head, banging on the floor, etc.
I'm whooped!
