!Alcohol Free All the Way Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.

Happy Christmas Eve Eve Eve!
Hard to believe Christmas is 4 days away. Somehow even though it seems we are hurtling towards the day, this week seems to be dragging.
Quiet evening at home, the boys went out to their favorite German restaurant with friends.
My plan is to wait until Saturday to wrap all the gifts. I'm just too tired in the evening.

Carole- Glad the UTI is better. Not sure when the boys are leaving, pretty sure it's before New Year's.

Good morning all! I was right that it rained all day yesterday but all is ok. It wasn't too cold so that was good. If it's going to be very cold, I'd much rather it snow than rain! That's just miserable!
Amy - Sounds like waiting till Saturday to have a wrapping marathon is a good idea! I'm so horrible at wrapping presents! I don't know what I would do if we didn't have gift bags! I did have to actually wrap 3 small boxes this year and it was so stressful! LOL
Carole - so glad the UTI is better!
Jan - DS's surprise just about made me cry for you! Amy is right - it was a Folger's moment!
hpeterson - what a rough day for you and for your student! Hope things will calm down today for you.
GG - my goal for the week is to maintain and not have a gain. It is hard a Christmas! But not impossible!
I may brave Walmart for a quick run after work today. I need a few things that I can only get there. Then I'll plan to stop at Aldi's after work tomorrow for most of my groceries so I shouldn't have to hit any stores on Saturday or Sunday. I am planning to work on Saturday. Happy Thursday all, we will officially be home owners in Wisconsin today! Yesterday we hired a service to snow blow the sidewalks for us so we don't get off on a bad start with the city and neighbors Doesn't seem real, but soon enough I'm sure. Yep, loved my "folgers" moment and we got to spend some time with him before he was off to shop and see friends! Tomorrow is his birthday but I think we are planning to have dinner here tonight and he will celebrate with the GF tomorrow. Oh well, we take what we can get and appreciate it. I still have some wrapping to do, trying to finish a knitting project and today I'm heading to the mall...yikes..have an appt. at the Apple store to check out my phone and battery. I will go early, walk the mall with my friend, and shop a little I'm sure. My appt is at 11:30 and if it doesn't take too long we'll have lunch after. No blue dot yesterday so want to do better today. Just keep trying, the holidays will be done soon and back to "regular" eating....I hope! Have a great EVE,eve,eve! Hi friends! Tomorrow is dd's birthday, 21! I went to a workout class today and have been eating bad since then. I have to get bot after Christmas for sure.
Amy, do you have any extra days off for christmas?
Jan, I worked 2 days this week and 2 next week. Great idea about the snow shovelers! Although it's been pretty nice here. I think it's supposed to get cold now though.
Murphy, I figure it's winter, it may as well snow....way better then rain.
