Suzanne, have you ever tried "Honey, I'll make it worth your while?" Haha! It works in my house. Luckily my DH likes to tinker, too. Hope you enjoyed The Minimalist. Anetta, great news on your BP! Do you refrain from salt altogether or just use less? I never knew how much I like salt until I tried unsalted cottage cheese once. Wow! what a difference! In my early years of cooking I never used salt! For years! Not sure what happened over time, but I like it now. Just a pinch. BTW I call those undone items "Procrastinatables" and will list one or more on my daily to do list until I catch them up. I am surprised how chore amnesia sets in. Michelle, you crack me up! I am working on this as well.
Pat, my pockets are loaded with tiny pink hearts, too! I actually visualized this yesterday when I got really irritated with a family member, and it worked! Changed my whole attitude. This is GOOD STUFF! My craft friends bailed on me last night, oh, I was so itching to start a new quilt or make cards. So.. DH and I went to see Why Him, it was really funny. Then we snuck into the movie about the Boston Marathon, and it was so depressing! Upon leaving the show, I was so disgusted at how many ppl just leave all their trash behind. REALLY? ? how can anyone think that is acceptable?

Hello my friends and happy Saturday! Taking a quick rest to assimilate lunch then I'm off to get a gym workout and grocery shop. I'm going to make another roast chicken with root veggies and turn the planned overs into another delicious soup. Lisa don't even get me started about slobs and their trash. What pains me even more is to go out to a wildlife preserve and see dumped beer cases, bottles, diapers, even used unmentionables. It is such a violation. I saw an empty Busch carton under an osprey nest once and waded out into the marsh and took it out. Horrible. Anetta, I am so proud of you! Good job on getting your BP under control. I wish my DH would talk to you. Do you have any tips to share? Suzanne I love your dancing and am happy for you that the Universe delivered. It sounds perfect for you. How is that Lemonade Rainbow going Michelle? Waves to Carol and Pam, if you're out there. Folks reading the thread - come on in and join us! Daily Affirmation - On this day I am happy and content. Fitness Report - bellydance cardio and restorative yoga. Health Goal - cook up a storm of healthy food. Gratitude - my Saturday morning leader and a great group of people.

Affirmation: Without discipline there is no life.
Goal: Two day list of to dos.
Gratitude: French fries I have skipped eating.
Lisa, You made me laugh. Not sure why but DH is 100% cooperative and pleasant now. Maybe he had a run in with the "Ghost of Projects Past". Envisioning the ghost going over the not done projects list with him...... BTW, One DW wrote out her DH's chore list on toilet paper. For some reason that motivated him. Strange.

Lisa: So sorry to hear your fellow-crafters bailed on you last night. I did watch Minimalism last night. I thought their points were good ones. I'm not sure I could ever pare down to what they did but it does make me think about the things I hold on to. Altho I've not read her books, I believe Marie Kondo has a very similar philosophy (do your things "bring you joy"?).
Michelle: Yes, I used to be a FLyer. I learned a lot of good habits. I'm not sure what happened. But I'm not flying anymore; I'm sinking! Funny you mentioned FlyLady yesterday, I was thinking maybe I ought to go back to it for a refresher. I have LOTS of Procrastinatables on my to-do list. Sometimes I can cross them off because they're no longer relevant. Love that. Also love your affirmation and goal from yesterday: Affirmation: KAPOWWWW!!!!!!!!!! Goal: Be goal-less, or less goaly, Yes maybe less goaly is good for me because I tend to be over goaly.
Anetta: Congratulations on your good BP results. Your heart and body are thanking you for all your hard work.
Pat: your roast chicken and root veggies sounds so good and actually made me hungry. I'm in a cooking rut.
Went to the gym for a very short workout this morning. I intended to come home and do more. But, one of my pair of 8# dumbbells is missing. Now...how can you lose a dumbbell?
Daily Affirmation: I release my attachment to everything that no longer serves me. I deserve to be happy and free. Fitness report: Find my missing dumbbell. Half hour of strength training completed and another half-hour to be done. Health Goal: Keep on losing (fat, that is) Gratitude: my kitties who keep me company and give me such joy. They're loving attention to me has brought me strength so many times.

Goal: Finish up my chore list so I can work on a collage
Gratitude: Marriage
Suzanne, I stay connected to other FLYers so that I do not spend my time on the ground flapping. Still use my timer at home and at work--it works like a magic talisman since I am trained to get on it and get it done! as in DING! (Do It Now Girl). What I love about FLYing is the RESULTS!!! I could have a home show today if I listed my house today. Sorry ladies please don't beat me up or imply that there is something wrong with my point of view--I just love a neat clean home, not to mention the Zen aspect also something about keeping my nest a certain way. Thinking like this does not seem to be popular now. Anyway it is all thanks to FLYlady.
Lots to do and I am going to get it done!!!

Happy Sunday, all! Just a quick pass through for me today...
Daily Affirmation - I put one foot in front of the other to get to where I'm going. Fitness Report - Dog walk already done. Health Goal - Mindfulness about meal choices and sufficient hydration. Gratitude - Humor...laughter IS the best medicine!

🐣 I'm here! Shocked to find I haven't posted here in a week! I'm on Day 4 of a 10 day metabolic detox diet, have been journaling for that and trying to make it work. I feel good, but it is more restrictive than the one I did last year. I'm discovering how hard it is to find any simple, clean foods at, say, a diner, without being able to have dairy, eggs, grains etc. nor caffeine!
I love reading this thread, I always want to adopt all your affirmations....
I'll be back later, we're off to the movies.
