!Alcohol Free All the Way
Welcome to our 2017 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 23 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have about 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2018 feeling great! 2018!!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

I joined WW online yesterday. Still getting the hang of tracking points again. I didn't join until the afternoon and it was a real eye-opener tracking what I had already eaten. I'm going to have to make some serious changes in what goes in my mouth. Suggestions welcome!!! The easy part will be the FitPoints- I got 35 yesterday.
The scale moved back below 180- I'll take it!
I filled 6 totes with Christmas stuff. DH & I will take them to storage and bring back more that are either empty or have the usual house decor in them.
The beach was nice yesterday- it was foggy and kind of eerie looking. It's in the 50's this morning, so I guess my shoes will be staying on!

Good morning all! Well it is the last day of 2017. This year really did go fast! I think I'm ready to say goodbye to 2017 though and move on to a better 2018! Can't say I'm really proud of the way I lived this year but I am proud of the way I'm ending the year!
Amy - it's only 23 degrees here this morning so you would definitely be keeping your shoes on here! LOL It does feel nice to sort of get the house back in order. Woo Hoo for the scale being nice to you!
Liz - I love looking at all of my ornaments on the tree too and remembering where they came from.
GG - is the Christian WW site available to all or just for WW members?
Jan - so glad that DS is doing better and happy he will be back in 2 weeks!
Carole - that does sound like a good NYE! Enjoy!
I'm just enjoying my coffee this morning and will go to church after while. The choir isn't singing today so I'll get to enjoy the service from the congregation. I want to finish my laundry and do some more cleaning this afternoon. I'm sure I'll manage some snuggle time with Callie too! LOL Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Murphy

Happy end of 2017!! Guess my brain said to get up and capture every hour that is left so up early. I couldn't bring myself to take the tree down yesterday either, feels very final, last Christmas here. But I'm still am excited about the change. I told myself I will clean it all out on the first and really feel like a NEW beginning. Today will be low key, if it's nice I'll walk downtown to get my steps. One goal I made yesterday is at least 3 days a week I have to get my 10,000 steps and the others at least a "walk" on fitbit which is like 15 continuous minutes. I was AF and got my blue dot yesterday, but at the very top of the range so try for better today. DH wants nachos for dinner with football. I can do it, just plan around it. Then I've started planning my menus on a January calendar starting tomorrow. Hope you all have a wonderful last day of this year and are looking to do great things in 2018!! Amy You'll get the hang of the points fast as you have been tracking food etc for years. They just really "charge" a lot these days for high carbs and sugar so that is where I have to plan ahead. And practice using the app and scanning food at the store, when it's too high, I just don't bring it home! If you can get Ole fiber tortillas for burritos or egg burritos, 1 point, canadian bacon, low points, depends on what you like to eat but there are different brands that make it easier to stay in your zone. If you push journey on your phone app, the little arrows at the bottom, under your graph will tell what you daily eating range is to get your dot. I know you'll figure it all out Hope you can have bare feet on the new years day walk!! Murphy Snuggles with Callie sound good after a morning of worship and sending out the old, in with the new. As a present, so I wouldn't miss him too much, DS let me a bunch of fever sweated clothes to wash for when her returns Kids, they're always thinking of you right? We're all proud of you all the time, keep up the good work!! Carole So good to be there for your friend. Nice to spend the New Year's eve with your kids!! Hope the workout inspires you! Liz Did you knit yesterday? I plan to do some today. I will get at least 3 hats out of this yarn, then I can go look for some more Any plans for this evening? If no A comes in the house, I know I will be fine, and with my car trapped in the garage, it's kind of like a sign! GG stay strong today, don't let temptation or stinking thinking win. Sure, one or two won't hurt, but will they help? Saw the tons of snow parts of Penn was getting!! Going to enjoy some more coffee, write in my journal, do some quiet thinking. Have my little ceramic tree lit and will savor the moment. Love you all, Jan
