Good Morning and Happy New Year.
Apologies for spotty attendance.
Excellent work on your CB list from yesterday and the garage being back in a more orderly state. That has to feel good. The mental approach to the training appointments sounds good, once a week should be do-able. I admit to canceling far more training appointments than I would a physical therapy appointment. Do you do your own Yoga routines at home or do you follow a certain DVD? Sorry if I've asked this before.
Yesterday I got the house picked up from strewn Christmas stuff, winter gear and ski stuff, coats, stuff from laundry room closet still all over floor from making room for DH hobby delivery. Also I moved all DD's trash/donate items from upper hallway into guestroom. Many magazine and X-mas gift catalogs were recycled and many empty cardboard boxes were broken down to the recycle. DH broke down a makeshift shoe holder he'd McGyvered from an old desk many years ago that also had to come out of laundry room closet. I was feeling overwhelmed by the messes everywhere when we returned from DH family in Eastern WA, and ran away from home on Saturday. Then I told DS he should see if some friends wanted to come over for pizza last night for New Years and so that got me moving on things thankfully.
Ultimately only 2 friends came over. I/we had never actually met these new friends, they had never been to our house before. Editing, several people couldn't make it due to short notice or plans, these two both originally said they would come late and leave early, but then ended up coming early and leaving later, which was nice for DS cause I think he was a little bummed others couldn't come. I had pizza and Lil' Smokies and other snacks available and felt good/proud of the state of the house. It was nice to finally meet these kids he's been talking about and they both were very polite/pleasant. DD was at a friends for sleepover and (guiltily stated) this always makes for an easier more relaxing time for rest of us.
It is hard to believe another year has gone by! You and I need to really pat ourselves on the back about how much lighter our homes are due to our CB efforts over the last 1.5-2 years we have made! ALso the improvement/reno projects we have overseen. We are in a better place! It's hard to think that it was just this holiday time last year the organizer came and helped DD with the major room purge.
Also I sort of got sucked down an Ancestry.com thing for one of my MILs, not that she asked me to, but there is a reason I went ahead and I think it will make her pretty happy. I'm hoping to wrap this up today as proceed through laundry.
There are three areas of issue, the usual ones, a corner of den, the guest room pile up and kitchen desk area. We shall see what progress can be made today.
DH Hobby update, I was advised that the second container to arrive was the same size/type as the first that was already in the laundry room closet. Alas, it's not!!! This has created problems as the two containers can only be set in there a certain way which makes the remaining space, which was to be in the middle, and now cannot be, as functional. I was not happy but remained "emotionally elegant" as you would say. DH was going to start McGyvering the existing shelf etc. take out a support rod, then mentioned our closet again, which I nixed all. It is left the way it is and the bottom line is it's fine, just not great, and the main issue is we have too many coats in this house. There are 4 of us and I'm pretty sure there are close to 50 coats, vests, fleeces, jackets in this house in/on 5 closets/racks. This is one of the things that "border on hoarder" with DH. Thanks for listening. I have mentioned they need to be thinned, that I thought there was a lot that aren't ever worn/needed. We'll see.
Okay, onward, hope you're having a good day today, looks like it will be nice here today.
Z.
P.S. Have you ever watched this show "Psych" on the Hallmark Channel? It's cute! But I like fun "who dunnit" T.V. series, like "Columbo", "Murder She Wrote" etc.

I don't seem to have this Hallmark Channel, just the romance one. Do you have Directv? If so what channel is it? I wonder what would make "hoarder" status. Need to figure that out for 2018 and scale back as needed with my personal clothing, shoes, bracelets on and on. I think it would have to do with what actually gets worn/used as opposed to decorating a closet or other space.
I did yoga in a studio for years and also with DVDs. I probably would still be going if I could find one that was 45 minutes, start to finish. They say it will be an hour but most times it extends to one hour and 15 minutes or more (boring.....). I have a standard routine I do to help with my physical situations--like hip openers or ones for my neck etc. This works and easy for me to knock out. I commit to 7 days a week since it is easy to do while watching TV. My accomplishment average on this is very high and I believe it is because of the TV watching.
Agreed about patting ourselves on the back about our accomplishments! It's so easy to forget this. Also my head is not stuck in the sand nearly as often or for as long now. Clutterbusters has helped me so much!!!
Congrats! on getting the house picked up. Yesterday I went around and did things like put a lamp back where it belonged, got a table ready to go back into the garage. It's surprising how those little things can make such a difference. My new candles require AAA batteries so I bought the wrong size but today I fixed that error. Also got that useless vac thrown away.
I have to get the stuff I bought out of the car. Do you have something you focus all your dread on? Sounds odd but I don'd bother to not want to do things but will have one thing I just dread doing. Lately it has been getting the car back to it's original state complete with dog nose art on just about every window. Anyway I am glad the dread item has shifted away from prepping my WW food. Before that it was taking vitamin supplements. LOL
Hope you are having a great evening!!!
