As long as I get a couple of Samoas, I'm good. I buy and give to the kids and out of my house!

Thanks for the warning.
I expect that DNiece will post her daughter's cookie page on Facebook shortly.
Last year there was an option to donate the cookies "on line" to either the military or a charity (I forget which) and never touch the boxes.
Worked for me...

My understanding is that the donation of cookies to military or charity is council specific, so it will differ from location to location.
ION, what is a "thanks-a-lot" cookie?
I'm pretty sure all the GS in my neighborhood have outgrown cookie sales, so I should be safe this year.

My favorites are all 7 and 9 SP's LOL! Thankfully the granddaughter is not doing girl scouts anymore (especially since her grandpa used to buy 20 boxes!!)

I'm grateful for the opportunity to donate (we actually have "that" on our list of planned giving for the year).
Sophia is young; if scouting "sticks" we have YEARS to go

For the last several years, I have donated the cookies and never saw a single box. Makes it nice. I can still support Girl Scouts and give someone else a gift.

I'll be purchasing some... to support the GS of a coworker. I'll put the cookies out to share with other coworkers in my department, and bring some home to my husband.
I can resist these... it's the homemade cookies that are my downfall.

For years both of my dds were in Girl Scouts so we sold, and bought, many, many cookies. Even after they were out of scouts I continued to buy them from the girls who came around the neighborhood and from children/relative/friends of friends who sold at work. I'd even buy a box or two if we encountered scouts in front of the grocery store.
Now I don't buy them any more. No one comes to our house where we live now, and if they are still selling in front of the grocery stores, they aren't there when I am. I've found that I really don't care for their cookies all that much so it hasn't been a hardship.

I was a Girl Scout leader many years ago, and the girls and troops appreciate the support

One at the hospital, my dh bought a case from one of his patients. The did make it home but after that we decided the interns and fellows would appreciate them more at the hospital. When I was teaching I'd buy whatever the student liked to take home and enjoy. This was several years ago.

The kids sell them at the train station and at the grocery stores here. It's hard to say no to those cute kids! I asked about donating them once and they didn't know what I was talking about.
And do they seem to start earlier every year? I thought they used to sell them in March.

Last year I only bought one box of the thin mints. Last night I decided to clean out freezer for trash day and guess what I found 1 sleeve of thin mints! lol In the trash now. I may try one box again (not sure of type yet), have a few and give the rest to my co-workers...
