This challenge was created six years ago by a few Weight Watchers members. We are committed to making positive and permanent lifestyle changes. Success isn’t always measured at the scale. Each day, tally the positive actions that you made the day before and then talk about the challenges you are working on. Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join. If you are the first one to post each day, please copy, paste and get us started and, if you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas to following the plan.

Good Morning!!!! love light blessings love light blessings
Jan Hooray for loss, pizza, well pizza happens. That is why the flexibility of this program and the support of this group. I indulged in Ritz crackers myself, had the points for them.
Nat laughing on the treadmill! WTG!
Carol, OH NO, feel better sweetie, you and yours. Comfort food when sick? oranges?
love light blessings, long hours finally caught up with me and just hit a wall, going to take most of today off do chores, workout and try not to work the entire weekend. I realized that I am so exhausted that I have been in a really bad mood for a long time which is just as bad for biz as not working a lot. OP, two loads of wash out, and am going to hit a morning spin class, hope the instructor shows up, bad luck with that lately.

Good morning positive peeps! Good plan for the weekend Janet, take care of you! I know that is why I tend to get moody a lot. This 7 days a week work takes a toll on the psyche! A happy medium would be good. But for me right now, I need to keep up the work schedule. The saving grace is working from home which can also be the negative (no excuse not to work unless I set boundaries). It's up to me. No one is forcing me to keep this work schedule, except my checkbook at the moment LOL! Carol, hugs....feel better. I've gotten calls (on both phones) the last two days plus a text message from my hospital warning about the flu, what to do besides bombard the urgent care and ER (which has wait times up the 15 or more hours at this point!) It's a very bad flu season. A nurse friend at another hospital posted something with some good tips. I'll post it here.
Yes I DID/CAN: -Get over 10K yesterday. Do it again today. I've hit over 10 three out of four days so far. -Track it all, stay OP -Jump on the treadmill for at least 30 min -Stay positive. -Hydrate
Waving! Happy Anniversary to Sally and her DH!

Here's my nurse friend's post. She works at a hospital (not mine) in the area. She was sharing a post from a nurse friend of hers.
To add to the whole 'going to the ER' part of this (read below), SARH is running up the 15 hour wait times right now. We’ve never seen that place as insane as it is right now.
The FLU!!
1.) You CAN get the flu even if you received the flu vaccine. Especially since this years shot is only 10% effective. 2.) You have a virus with a course of 7-14 days during which you are going to feel like you want to die; you may/will have fever, chills, severe headache, sore throat, chest congestion, nasal congestion, coughing, sneezing, sore throat, severe weakness/lethargy, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea and severe body/joint aches. Viruses DON'T get treated with antibiotics, it has to run its course. 3.) Go to your primary care doctor, urgent care, or telephone triage nurse FIRST, but know there is little they can do to help you. The only thing they can help you with is medication for severe coughing unresponsive to over the counter medications or severe diarrhea/vomiting. You do not need antibiotics unless you develop a secondary lung infection. 4.) DON'T COME TO THE ER...UNLESS you have shortness of breath, you cannot keep down fluids for 24 hours, have persistent liquid stools accompanied by dizziness, fast heart rate or low blood pressure. 5.) Tamiflu is an antiviral drug that is found to be mostly ineffective, and comes with significant side effects and price tag (OP’s opinion..not mine, I believe in Tamiflu). 6.) DO take Tylenol AND Advil/Motrin/Aleve at MAX doses (unless contraindicated by other health issues) to alleviate fever, headache and body aches. 7.) DO take over-the-counter flu remedies. Be careful taking combinations of different medications to avoid overdosing and overtreating (for example, some flu medicines already have Tylenol (Acetaminophen) in them, read the bottle. 8.) Use home remedies such as "hot toddies" (whiskey/lemon/honey FOR ADULTS ONLY), hot showers, vapor rubs, vapor humidifiers, essential oils, etc. 9.) Drink TONS of fluids! Hot liquids and soups may be helpful. Try to maintain nutritious intake. Milk products may thicken mucus and worsen coughs. 10.) IMPORTANT: A rule of thumb about coughing!...If it's productive (coughing up sputum), DO NOT suppress it with meds. If it's non-productive (dry and annoying), DO suppress it. Make sure you're properly hydrated, especially with a productive cough (it thins secretions and makes them easier to cough up and out). Elevate your head when you sleep to decrease coughing/secretions. 11.) PLAN AHEAD--stock up now on necessary medications, juices and drinks, soups, popsicles, and broth so you'll be ready. This time of year it is not unusual to find store shelves empty. You won't want to go shopping when you or a loved one is sick. 12.) DO NOT GO OUT IN PUBLIC FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!! An older person or someone in poor health or with respiratory disease can die from the flu you pass on to them! Do NOT send a child with a fever to school during flu season. 13.) WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER!!

Happy Friday Friends,
Sally: Happy Anniversary!!! WTG on getting right back in the OP saddle. How was the movie "The Post"? I want to see it.
Carol: How I wish I could beam some of my homemade chicken soup to you. I felt like soup this afternoon after yesterday's huge dinner for my Niece's 19th Birthday. She heads back to Pepperdine University on Sunday. We will miss her. She whispered to me "thanks for taking care of Grandma Helen", (my Mom) she loves her so much. Keeps my Mom going. The power of love. And Carol I will send fresh off the tree tangerines too. Hope you feel better soon. Can't you get some groceries delivered so you don't have to get out in the cold?
Nat: Thank-you for sending on the flu info. I did have my flu shot, but I see that it's not all that effective. I will share this info with my family if you don't mind. Exercise makes me feel better too. Physically and mentally. One of my Intentions for 2018 is to laugh more and not to sweat the small stuff.
Janet: Sending a bright and sunny mood your way. I don't know how you stay as positive and upbeat, with the kind of work you do. A challenge for sure.
Well, did great with Freestyle so far today and I have dinner all prepped and ready to go. Missed my Jazzercise class last night but my Wed. class was so challenging it was probably for the best to let my muscles heal. Finally got the holiday stuff put away. That feels good. Must continue the de-cluttering.
Weekend Intentions: --Jazzercise tomorrow morning. --Spring cleaning. --Have some fun...a bike ride if the weather is sunny.
Healthy Vibes all.

Hola!
Hanging in...thanks for the info, Nat! And thanks for the virtual chicken soup & tangerines, Jan!
Sally - happy anniversary!
DBF went to his doc and got a scrip for Tamiflu, I'm self-medicating with Mucinex and Tylenol at max dose. I had to pick up a few things from the grocery but tried to be very careful, used plastic gloves and did not do any extra handling. Fortunately (?) the weather was so brutal this a.m., there was hardly anyone in the store. I plan to stay home for the next few days!
Will have to miss my WW mtg tomorrow...my home scale says I'm down, no surprise with lack of appetite.
Be well! Carol
