Monday Monday, can't trust that day!!!!! That tune just popped into my head. I'll go with it as I set us up with our coffee for today!
Today is a holiday MLK day so lots of things will be closed and or opened. I plan on just staying put today, focusing on how good feeling better feels. That will help me through the day. I may even 'hear' from the doctor today......
Wishing all that enter a happy day!

Good morning, Ann, sounds like a good plan!
We got Jeremy's CDs organized, a daunting task, so it felt like a productive way to spend the evening. The new cleaning lady comes tomorrow, so must stay today today.
After the scale dropped those two pounds yesterday, it was back up a pound today, so I am definitely pushing the envelope. Focus, Kathy; focus. But no big plans for the day....J is making noise about selling his car (fingers crossed) so I think I'll be able to lie low. My leg is fine, so I think a strength DVD is in order. That yoga series was just getting to hard for me, so need to do a bit of exploration there, too, but I am seeing a quiet day for me and 🐶.
Everyone have a good one!

Hi all. I just want to share my GOOD NEWS with all of you wonderful ladies....I heard from my surgeon's office and my surgery is scheduled for February 9th! I'll be getting a sheet of paper in the mail explaining all of it to me.
I'll finally get to put this nightmare behind me. I feel so blessed.
Have lots of phone calls to make and emails to send, but wanted y'all to be included.
Thanks for being there for me.

Ann, I am delighted at your news and breathing a sigh of relief for you.
Kathy, some of those yoga moves are a bit challenging. I found some yoga moves I can do on an exercise ball and that has helped with my flexibility without straining my muscles too much. Do you use exercise bands for your home strength exercises? I love them and they are packable!
Iggy arrived home safe and relatively sound. His feet and legs are swollen after 40 hours of travel. He was so tired he didn't even want dinner, so stroganoff for lunch. He had a hard time gearing to sleep, so at 4 am we got up, made coffee and caught up and he finally went back to bed at 9 am and is sleeping. He brought back some beautiful teak chop sticks which we will use for sushi and pho and our Thai take out. I am glad to have him back.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!!
Ann ~ Thanks for opening up the Cafe this morning. I was delighted to read about your good news! Like Kathy, I never dreamed you would hear from the doctor today. What great news!! So since you have a date, we can safely assume you now have pre-authorization from your insurance? And it isn't all that far away. So proud of you for hanging in there and keeping your spirits up.
I slept well last night, except woke too early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I finally got up and read the paper (electronically) and drank coffee. I thought I was feeling better yesterday but not so much this morning. Ah well, it is still very early in my medication regime so things may improve.
Kathy ~ GFY with sticking to exercise. I fear I have been a real slacker, but soon I'll start feeling better and have the energy for it.
Chele ~ Glad you got your Iggy back safe and sound. Stroganoff for lunch sounds just perfect.
Kathy ~ Thanks for the answer. I had not thought about storage space being an issue - BUT I have plenty here at the condo so no worries. However at the apartment we lived in previously I had much less storage. That is something to keep in mind as well, I suppose. We may eventually end up living in smaller quarters and have to readjust.
I am still lounging around in my robe and slippers, so probably should get myself put together and head out to the store for a few things. They are predicting freezing rain later on and I don't want to go out then.
BBL. Make a great day!

Hi Everyone,
Ann, I am SO happy that you have a date for your surgery! What good news to start out the week!
Kathy, I'm with you on the need to focus. So far I've treated the 2 weeks that we've been here as a big vacation, and that needs to STOP. I saw the Oprah commercial this morning, and it kind of rubbed me the wrong way when she said she doesn't struggle anymore. Maybe there ARE people who don't struggle, but I'm sure not one of them.
Sue, I smiled when you said yesterday that you were saying "pick me, pick me!" when I needed help straightening out my avatar picture! I have to admit that I amazed myself when I figured it out--LOL!
Chele, I'm glad that Iggy made it home safely. I can't even imagine a 40 hour trip to get somewhere. I hope the swelling in his feet and legs goes down quickly. Enjoy the stroganoff today!
Once again I'm waiting for the TV repair people to arrive. After they came last week they had to order a part, which is supposed to be installed today. Hopefully it will fix the problem! I'm also doing laundry again--the job that never ends!
Have a good day everyone.
Carol

Thank you all for you kind words. My feet haven't hit the ground yet LOL. It's been a LONG WAIT...since Halloween when I had my last mammogram.......
Now, once the surgery is done and over with I'll be a 'new woman' LOL.
Hope you all enjoy a great day!

Ann, I’m so thrilled you’ve finally got this scheduled! Woot!
Kathy, way to go on getting CDs organized. What a huge task!
Chele, so glad Iggy is hope safely.
Sue, great plan to get out and get a few things before the freezing rain.
Carol, I’m with you on Oprah saying she doesn’t struggle anymore. I think there will always be times in my life when I have to refocus on what I’m eating.
My husband has the laser treatment on his retinal tear tomorrow – in office procedure. Last night we had some terrific storms, and a tornado went just south of us so we’re feeling really fortunate. Near us – in Medina Texas – softball size hail did a lot of damage. And it’s winter!!!!!!! It’s a beautiful day today, and I’ve gotten in my 6 miles. Woot!

Talk tomorrow!

Good Morning:
Ann: What wonderful news! I’m SO relieved. Less than a month away. Now you can plan and prepare and be all set. And you know insurance finally got on board too. What great news. Celebrating with you.
Chele: So glad Iggy is home safe and sound. What a long flight! Great that your DB&DSIL and Corgi are having fun with the weather! I have never riced cauliflower. Thanks for the Green Giant suggestion. I’ll check it out. I’m always looking for healthy food options—especially those that are convenient. Recently I’ve been buying varieties of steam in the bag vegetables which is new for me. A good addition to our diet. We have acrobatic squirrels too. So fun to watch them Tarzan leap on the bare branches outside our windows—not fun to watch them try to clean out the bird feeder!
Carol: What a beautiful sunrise picture. Another day in paradise for you! I looked it up again and this time saw This is Us as drama/comedy or something like that. Makes more sense but I’d say much more drama than comedy. Me too on struggle. Happy for you Oprah but…can’t relate…
Kathy: Nice that you’re heading into a calmer week. We have been recording this season of Sherlock but haven’t watched it. We did start on Poldark last night. I could pass on it but DH wanted to watch it so we did. The scenery is beautiful. Victoria is recorded.
Sue: Not sure if you have school today. School or home I hope it’s a good one and that you’re feeling better each day.
Kathryn: So good that you missed the bad weather and will be thinking of your DH’s surgery—that it goes smoothly with great results.
We are still having freezing weather & high wind. Gusts to 57 today. Our furnace did quit. Twice. DH had to cut a pipe and drain condensation into the garage because the pipe had frozen. Winter fun!
But so so happy to report that I got to the gym today. It has been at least three weeks. I drove myself on the ice. Of course DH would have driven me but I wanted to “do it myself” like a 2 year old. I returned to the class with trepidation—because I knew I’d lost fitness. Wore myself out but made it through. Plus hit the dreadmill before and after. Very small group of we hardy folk. Of the 4 of us, I’m pretty sure I’m was youngest. What a great example older people who exercise are! Besides the class I saw lots older folks working out.

Got in 8,000 steps at the gym, early. Then went for connecting the Fitbit Flex II, for the 3rd time. The first 2 were defective, and sent back. Got the new (3rd) one Saturday afternoon. Charged, but didn't have time to mess with it Sunday. This one actually connected quickly. After all that, went to the ranger, where I knew I would collect a lot more steps, and I could check how it was doing. So far, all seems good. I'm at 17,000 steps right now.

Hi all! Happy MLK day. I loved having the day off. It's been a good weekend. Book club was fun and a late night. Our host made a yummy pear mushroom soup. Of course, the addition of cream and gorgonzola cheese made if really good!
Saturday DH and I did more decluttering and cleaned a storage area in the basement. Today we cleaned out two file cabinets. Both felt great. His truck is filled with items for donations...mostly duplicate small appliances and housewares.
Then we've been watching a lot of football. We watched all the playoff games. Go Pat's! Sorry, Chele. The Green Bay/Dallas game was a real nail biter!
I did not get to watch Victoria but will catch up.
Ann, yahoo on your surgery date!! I am so happy for you!
Kathy, glad you had fun with Bradana. Brady sounds like a terrific guy! Funny about your nuts and bolts recipe! Our son popped in on his way home from a ski trip in NH at Cannon mountain. I made him a big batch of Swedish meatballs and a big crockpot of chicken taco soup. United nations dinner..lol
Today I had brunch out and a long visit with 3 friends. Then DH and I took a long walk with Doug and Daisy. Now I am gearing up for work tomorrow but worried about weather. Snow and ice in the forecast.
Carolyn, you were brave for driving on ice to the gym. Glad you got out!😃
Chele, I am trying to imagine a 40 hour flight. That's horrible. Poor Iggy. Swollen legs and then the worry about circulatory issues and blood clots, too. So hard. I'm glad he's home. The beef stroganoff sounded yummy.

Sue, glad you were able to relax and I hope the pain is going away.
Act, wow in all the steps!
Carol, I completely agree on Oprah's exaggeration regarding no worries. I think we always need to be vigilant. I have been a slacker lately and need to rein it in!
Night all!!
