Good Morning TLCs, Karen - I am so pleased that you made it home safely and LOVE the new avatar. How cool is that to see and be able to cook your own mushrooms!! Crazy temps for you and I do hope you're not coming down with a cold given the changes and not having the clothes. Great that the old house is back on the market, crossing fingers for a good offer for you! Sounds like the GF weekend was really good and I'm sure greatly appreciated for all who needed the comraderie and support! I am home today and even slept in a bit after taking Ralphie out around 6:am. We went back to bed and just snuggled for awhile then got up and took them out and fed them. I hope you were able to get a good and warm night's sleep! Chele - how was Iggy's trip? I'm sure you are glad to have him back. Did you do anything special for dinner? Kathy - really like your new avatar as well, very tropical! Temps this morning in the 20s but should go up and we are due to be in the mid 40s most of the week with some rain here and there. Was happy to see the Packers and Pittsburgh win! I follow pro ball the way you follow college . Linda - I tend to be a collector of stuff myself and have to clear and clean things out every now and then. Not really sure what the psychology behind it is but I do work on not letting it get out of hand. How was dinner? How is the knee feeling? Becky - hope your knee is feeling better with the shot. I know I did get relief in both my knee and my hip with the cortisone shots. The Synvisc also made a big difference for me since I had very little cartlidge left. Am going to scoot for now and make some more coffee and have some berries for breakfast. Have a great day and will try to BBL! Ciao for now dear ladies~

Liz, so glad you get another day of relaxing. Puggle snuggling sounds good. Thanks for getting us going this morning. I think Iggy's jet lag I see affecting me too. I had a hard time getting going this morning. Iggy wasn't hungry when he got back, but I had cooked him beef stroganoff and noodles. Guess what his lunch is today?
Karen, it sounds like you had a really enjoyable trip and what a surprise to come back to those beautiful mushrooms.
Waving to the rest of the gang.

Thanks for the start, Liz. I'm so happy to hear that you took the holiday. Crawling back into bed after taking Ralphie out sounds wonderful! I hope you have a very relaxing day. I, too, am glad the Packers and Steelers won, especially the latter because my whole family are Steelers fans. I'm glad your temperatures will be warming up. We are supposed to be in the 60s for most of the week again.
Chele, glad Iggy is back home safe. At least you won't have to fix anything for him for lunch. What else are you up to today?
Kathy, I hope you are enjoying your day off. Did you stay up late watching football? We made it through the first half of the Steelers-Chiefs game and called it a night. We were amazed we were still awake by that point. I had a headache part way through the trip home and thought it was just my head position against the headrest causing strain on my neck but it appears it must be sinus related. I have used the neti pot once today and will use it again later. Discharge is clear so at least I'm not infected and trying to keep it that way. Phoebe and I both have the lazies today and Dale fed her so I didn't even get out of bed until after 9. One of the other problems sleeping away from home is that we have a mattress warmer here so my bed is toasty. That would have really helped the other night but not an option. Dale saw another tree down in the woods that he remembers me planting mushrooms in so I hope to have the energy this afternoon to check it out. We are fogged in this morning so it will be a while. They are most likely polypores (a kind of shelf mushroom that can be used in soups but not tasty by themselves), which grow wild, so if that's what they are, I probably won't harvest any.It would be nice if it were more shiitakes but I'm skeptical. I really need to change the bed and wash sheets and towels today but we'll see if I have the energy.
Waving to Becky and Linda.

Never could like using Neti pot, but I got some Arm and Hammer saline spray that you press button and get stream. Costco. I do that until it drips and then blow nose to clear pit pollen.
dinner was great. Today diet reality. But probably Bob will fetch some chicken souvlaki for dinner, which works and we have a great Medierranean place nearby.
knee always aches a little these days. Got the first of five lube shots this morning.
They swab to clean the knee, spray something on it, minute later needle goes in..ouch for second, then about five seconds of wow that hurts achy pressure as fluid goes in. Then you are done. Kind of hobbled out and Bob drove me home since it is right knee, but it started to lose the stiffness pretty quickly and just ache a bit. I could drive. I can take ibruprofen , ice it if it swells and elevate it. So far not needing meds. Had to keep flexing it right away to distribute it. Keep moving off and on today.PT tomorrow helps that. No dog walk today.
Next Monday #two. It doesn't really work much until nearly the fifth one, full effect about five or six weeks after the last one. It works for quite a while. He said his patients like it. That last shot will be almost 4 weeks before we fly.

Liz,Thanks for the start. Are you off today? My back hurt while we were grocery shopping after Curves and I rode the indoor bike for 15 min this afternoon and now my knee is hurting but my back is better.Maybe I shouldn't ride the bike on the same day as Curves.I hope you aren't in as much pain today.
Chele,I hope you and Iggy feel better soon. How long is he home for this time?
Karen,I'm not happy the Packers won b/c that knocked out my Cowboys.I hope it's your sinuses and you aren't getting sick.I have had sinus drainage today with a dry cough.
Linda,My osteo sprayed something on my knee before the cortisone shot and it didn't hurt at all.I still don't know if I will get Synvisc injections.I hope your knee feels better soon.

The lubrication shot hurts when the fluid goes out, pressure building, he said. It made the muscles all around ache for a while. They sprayed but did the shot immediately. As the fluid distributes with flexing, it feels better. people I know say the cortisone hurts all day. Does that go way to the very inside of the joint!?
Lying down with dog after early dinner of grilled Greek chicken. More achy now and so tired. Legs elevated and not planning on moving for a while! research shows pain on injection seems to depend on how much room you have left in knee , maybe why it is recommended mainly for mild to moderate arthritis. Some people really suffer...seems like the three shot kind. Mine maybe has less because it us five shots over more time and supposedly lasts over a year.
trying to decide if warm bath good thing or cause swelling. Guess I could just keep that knee sticking out of water and make back and other one happy.

Liz, thanks for the start. My avatar was some free Microsoft clipart before they discontinued that. It's still rather toasty and in the 70s here right now, so the tropical vibe fits. Hope you had a nice day off. It always goes so fast when it's a day off, doesn't it! My family were huge Dolphin fans back when they went undefeated and the years around that. My aunt and uncle and cousins used to come up from Miami to watch the games sometimes. That was back when they blacked them out in the local area. I lose interest a bit when the FL teams all lose out, but I will tune in for the Super Bowl. Glad your teams won!
Becky, sorry your Cowboys didn't win. Our local paper said "Cowboys Booted". Argh!
Karen, that's so cool that you're getting some mushrooms to harvest. I know you put a lot of work into them. Publix had the gourmet mushroom mix on sale a few weeks ago and I used them in a stir fry. They were really delicious and had some varieties I hadn't tried before. Hope your sinus problems have improved.
Linda, I use Simply Saline and it seems to work pretty good when sinuses are bothering me.
Becky, glad the cortisone shot didn't hurt.
