This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives

Good day from the road. We stopped abut more than halfway last night due to heavy fog. Glad we did; severe storms rolled through inwhat would have been the homestretch. Glad we missed the excitement. I am ready to be home! Soon, but chores await. Nancy, that is sobering about your friend. A wake up for all of us. I hope Susan is off to a great start on her cruise. Nancy is spot on about learning to delete, delete, delete the negative messaging from irrelevant quarters. When we are smarting from the sting of disapproval, we have to ask ourselves, "Does this person have my best interests at heart? Are they quick to praise when I do well?"

Greetings, Friends. My household is free today, except for me. Men are experiencing the holiday, DD is here but has two appointments - the classic college student on break. I have a whopping line-up of lessons, provided they show. I'm hoping they do - I have a loaded memo for them announcing my departure following May's recital. I dread giving the news. Last week I told the studio owner. She was 1. jealous, and 2. wondering who I knew to take my place. I also told my WeWa boss/leader/friend who was surprised and so happy for me. Wants me to continue to work for her as long as I'm in town and want to. I feel lighter with each telling. T, glad you could defer to the fog, etc. Chores are always there and will wait. Happy re-entry. Nancy, much wisdom from your corner today. I hear you on the health concerns and WL desire and fit in clothes, etc. Right there with you. I'd like 7-8 lbs down. My bp is excellent but fear my chol won't be statin-free forever. And you and T both have wise words for FriendFrieda. Big family wedding here in almost two weeks. My Dniece and long time partner and father of two boys. DSis and fam coming up from south. DM flying up a week from tomorrow, to stay for 3 weeks. We are all to wear black, or black and white, or maybe a touch of gold. Very formal, very fussy bride. DD has done Rent-the-Runway, a la our Colleen. I have pieces put together from here and there - dress, sweater, shoes. Rented a black suit and the trimming for my dashing DH. I have complained like crazy at home, put out about it, but not sure why. The January factor doesn't help me - cold, unwelcoming, what will the weather be, DD coming back from school for it, I don't know. I'm sure it will be lovely and the bride's beauty will knock our socks off. Hope Susan is enjoying every moment with DBeau and continues to post a pic or two. Colleen, if you're reading, we'd love to hear any wonderful tidbits from you <3 Anne, always nice to hear about your walking, reading and working. Martha, continued good job wishes to the northwest. MCat, Melinda, Karla? Waving to all CaTs around the town. Have the very best Monday.

G'morning CATs!
Snow/ice still on the ground. Currently it is 21* out, feels like 8*. Wind Advisory until 10am today. The rains are coming, which brings out the flood warnings.
Will do errands after wind advisory expires. Have to go to dr's & pharmacy today by way of mass transit.
Frieda - no worries on responding. I understand. ((Hugs & Love)) Nancy - Hope you were able to get to work safely. What color are your nails? Sorry to hear about your friend's health. T - Glad to hear that travels are going well. Shari - Good luck with your line up of lessons. Not surprised about studio owner & WeWa boss responses.
Dinner tonight is Wild Rice & Mushroom Stew, made in slow cooker. I just realized what time it is and need to get prepped & cooking while I'm out.
Exercise today will be walking.
Hugs~ martha

Hey CATs, T, glad you were able to take a road trip timeout and avoid the dangerous fog and storms. Safe travels the rest of the way home. Nancy, I'm in the same place as you. Trying to hold on to my good health by doing the right things now. The doing part isn't so hard but never seeing the hoped for results continues to trouble me. Hope you are having a fun first day! Martha, the stew sounds delish! Hope you have an enjoyable walk. Shari, I'm so happy you are receiving loving acceptance from your friends and coworkers about your big decision. It helps when people are genuinely happy along with you.
Nothing special to report here. I want some tv time today to watch Victoria and maybe a couple of other recorded shows. I fell asleep early last night but slept the night through. Did a few extra steps on my walk today and now I'm finishing up laundry. Have a few other tasks that I must get done before going back to work tomorrow.
Have a good day CATs!

Dang. Lost a post.
Shari, loved you saying you felt lighter with each revelation. Will you be able to get a position with Wewa in your new location? Yours is an independent franchise though, is it not.
Nancy, I was happy when I saw your check in at the boutique this morning. And then a while ago I glanced only at my phone and thought you got a shout out from fitbit for progress on steps. I wondered if you were off and on the tm, or if those were work steps. How did you like your day?
I'm about to head off for a nap. I'm becoming depleted.
Dh had leave to use or lose, so he was off two weeks over end of year. Now he's off with a bad respiratory illness. Through this, I too am sick, taking Sudafed, and finding I'm clenching my jaw. No I have no idea why. My airway is stuffy enough it may be merely in response to that.
This morning Dh told me he'd taken Claritin D and was feeling floaty. Ever vigilant I am! I took his blood pressure and found he was in the abnormal rhythm that landed him on a cardiologists patient list. And his blood pressure was low enough I told him to call me if he was planning to try to get out of bed. I also had him drink something. He tried to tell me coffee was "taking fluids".
I was supposed to keep SBJ today so dd2 could study. That changed this morning and I'm not sure if it was because side roads were dangerously icky or if his other parent got the day off.
Dbro went in two hours late so it was light enough he would be found I'd he went in the ditch. He made it to work but when he called to tell me that, he said he fell going out to his truck but was OK. It is treacherous. Sidewalks are to be avoided completely.
They have downgraded to winter storm watch so I think we're through the worst of it.
