This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives

Today's title is a nudge to myself to try to get bursts of walking in. It's a packed day. I did not accomplish the work I could have during the drive-- the gray weather and motion just kept putting me to sleep. I am starting from behind and need to get up and move in between slogging through piles.
Shari, how did the big reveal go with the DStus?
I'm looking forward to Nancy's report on the new gig. Anne, are you still working out with Bev?
Best get moving.

Good morning, coffee buddy, and all who may follow.
The trip to work was fine as the highways had been treated, so were just wet. The drive home wasn't quite as nice, driving into the rain, making visibility questionable.
I love my new job already! We worked really hard yesterday, made so much progress, that my DN was thrilled and amazed. I get to go back on Friday! DH has the store designed so perfectly; with a special room for the formals/wedding dresses, as well as a kids' room. I cannot wait to see it fully stocked; we did a lot to help that yesterday. Opening day is Jan. 30, and the goal is to have the store at least 1/3 full. I'm confident we'll make it, or more.
The Three are here today as we are iced in. No school, so I'll have them until DD gets off at 1:30. She was smart enough to not want to risk taking them out to the sitter, who lives on an acreage just outside of town.
I tried to make my new step goal when I got home from work, but missed it. I got on the treadmill and went until I was just too tired to finish. Looks like I'll get those steps made up today. Anyway, early bedtime with a book, and I'm good.

Morning, Sister T., and Nancy, Nancy, this is very exciting news about the boutique! T., welcome home. Frieda, thinking about you every day. Nancy is probably spot-on about your cortisol levels. Please take care of you, friend, and let us know if we can help. Shari, I can still hardly believe your news myself! What do your kids think about all this? 1st rehearsal last night went well, although it felt a little awkward. Nothing serious, just a little bit like work. Hopefully, it will shake out. WFH this morning, networking meeting at lunchtime, haircut this afternoon, and then rehearsal tonight. The Mini Apple is glazed in ice this morning, and getting home from rehearsal last night was a slippy, slidey adventure. I leave Friday for the Shakespeare conference, which will be in Baltimore this year, so lots of pieces to get in place before I go. Still trying to shake off Humphrey.

Sorry I have been MIA; working two jobs. Things are busy at my county job as we have an exercise coming up. New rounds of testing to score on the weekends online.
Did I ever tell you all that our dog was diagnosed with hypo-thyroid? Anyway, heโs been on meds for a couple of months now and heโs feeling so much better โ itโs like having a puppy in the house again.
Hope the ice melts for everyone - it missed us and it feels like we are in the tropics as the temps were nearing 20 degrees this morning when I came to work!
Shari - hope the news is taken well. It is scary to make such big changes - but how nice to get out of the frigid north!
Hope Susan is having a blast!
pKate - I am trying to shake Humphey, too. Get better soon.
Love Colleen's big news!

Gmorning - My take ten this morning was to go back to bed. Re-woke up feeling much better. Yesterdays errands went quite well. Even got my hair cut. Glad I had cleats on as bus schedule was weird due to MLK Jr. Day. Guessing I walked about 3 miles. Cleaning, laundry and cooking/baking to be done today. On a downside, wanted a cuppa tea last night...found out the microwave died. Frieda - Sending HUGS and lots of good thought your way. T - Those little bursts can equal bigger than expected end results. Nancy - Enjoy the DGSx3. Glad to hear that a lot was accomplished in your time yesterday. PKate - Hoping Humphrey doesn't make the trip to Baltimore. Am sure the play will come together. Karla - Glad your dog is feeling like a pup again, but without the messes left behind. Hope Humphrey goes away soon. Anne - Hope you were able to get all of your tasks done before work today. Linda - Hope you and DH are feeling better today. What did you decide to do the 3 ring pheasants? I might be sending Karla and others a very unwanted present. . . . . We are in a Storm Warning until 10 pm tonight and then it goes to Flood Watch until the 19th. Very sorry for it. Current temp is 28 that feels like 16. Best get busy

All I can say is, it's ONLY Tuesday? Please say a prayer for me to get through this week unscathed and the weekend too! I'm so excited for you, Nancy! It sounds like fun. Shari: I bet the reaction is the same. It will be nice to get it off your chest. I am trying to hang in there, but it's tough. ok GTG. xxoo Frieda

Frieda I will keep you in my prayers for as long as you need. This too shall pass.
I had a busy day with kids here. It seemed almost back to normal. They would not have been here except the father, my SIL had a medical emergency. So I had 2 month old too. But his dsis took possession of him and was a totally a help. The medical situation ended well.
Dh converted back to a normal heart rhythm this morning. I told him his time was on my caseload. Actually I googled and found that the decongestant a uses the rhythm that he had. And alternating hot and cold all night....yes. that was caused by the rhythm. I never knew that arrhythmia caused that. I did not get on the treadmill today. I thought I had this of getting back on the miles, but I'll have to do double time tomorrow .
Btw, the electric pressure cooker I got for Christmas is SO NICE. It's almost like having a live in cook.

Oh. Martha I haven't decided what to do with my pheasants. I am by default keeping them long enough to see if they adjust well enough to do something besides hide in the corner. But I was late getting back from delivering babies and they were roving around the stall. It seems they may be nocturnal??
