NO EXCUSES
* This is a daily thread for those who want to live by the philosophy that you CAN be ON PLAN EVERY DAY, whether you are doing SFT or counting points for ALL foods! * You aren't doing this to brag; you are doing it for YOU! Because YOU are WORTH IT and because WW has made this totally DOABLE! * WW gives you a lot of freedom and a LOT of options that make it quite possible to live this lifestyle EVERY DAY. * You know that this philosophy keeps you on the straight and narrow. If you give yourself an excuse to go off plan today, there will ALWAYS be another excuse tomorrow. * SO, there are NO EXCUSES!!! * This is your LIFESTYLE and it is a lifestyle you enjoy and you live it daily. * Hopefully your participation here will not only inspire YOU but will inspire OTHERS too! YES, you CAN be ON PROGRAM EVERY DAY.

Use Your Nog-gin
Does eggnog add seasonal flavor to holiday parties? Does hot buttered rum warm you up on cold December nights? Then enjoy. But before a few sips become a few cups, consider this: True eggnog has 340 calories (from sweeteners and fat) per cup. From egg yolks and full-fat milk, much of its 20 fat grams per cup is saturated. Mix in a 1 1⁄2ounce jigger of brandy or rum,and calories soar to 440—per cup!
For hot buttered rum, check the recipe! Its belly-warming flavor and calories come from the butter, brown and confectioner’s sugar, rum,and sometimes ice cream. Enjoy healthier versions of holiday beverages in place of dessert.
• For eggnog Buy lower-fat versions or soy eggnog. They have dramatically fewer calories, fat, and saturated fat. Buy the small carton—to ease temptation for more. Lighten up! Mix any store-bought eggnog with evaporated fatfree milk. Make over homemade eggnog recipes. Use evaporated fat-free milk instead of cream; for safety’s sake, use pasteurized egg substitute in place of egg yolks. • For hot buttered rum:Substitute tub margarine (less saturated fat and no cholesterol) for butter; reduce sugar; reduce alcohol— 1⁄2 to 1 teaspoon rum extract for 2 tablespoons rum; replace ice cream with frozen yogurt. • Mull cider with a cinnamon stick instead of making hot buttered rum!

Yesterday was BUSY! 8 women, too much food, cards and a gift exchange. Was up till after midnight cleaning up.
Karen: thank you for commenting on the photo
Cindy: Saw an idea I liked - Christmas wish lists to help people choose a present - hope you find the things you need to get and are ready for Christmas
Bob: Good idea to get something for your son you have tried and like.

I think we had homemade eggnog when I was young and I liked it. I don't care for it now, homemade or store bought. I guess that's a good thing based on what you wrote. I do like hot mulled cider with spices. No alcohol - just apple. And I love the smell when you have it on the stove.
Glad you had fun yesterday. And your daughter will be coming soon! What a great season it will be.

Mom used to make a simple eggnog: milk, egg, vanilla, sugar mixed in a blender. Not thick. Back then we didn't worry about raw eggs. (Surprise, I never got sick from them) Haven't had it in a long time.
I enjoy eggnog but generally stay away from it because of the calories. Nowadays it would probably be too rich and too sweet for me to really enjoy.

Over 1800 kids in Beaverton and another over 800 kids in Tigard were stuck in schools late last night with the snow. Hwy 26 shut down for hours and I-5, etc. Always a disaster when snow strikes in the afternoon and everyone is at school and work.
I like egg nog but don't have it every year. I do drink the full version on occasion in moderation. Not something at home and not seeking it out right now. I really don't like store bought that much .

I don't really like eggnog or I should say I don't like one or more of the spices that are used in it.
Bob snow that way can really cause issues. I drove by our elementary school twice today and they had the children out in the snow. That might be ok in some circumstances but the wind was picking up to a nasty state. The temperature is in the low 20s and heading for -1.
