diva49 That was seriously sweet; I remember you saying to me that this could be healing for me as well as the patients, and I think that is the case. It feels just as difficult as it did the first month or so in Salem, with the new routine and route, but it feels like every week I have a conversation with someone that makes me glad I'm there.

hpeterson1951 Sorry you are feeling so sick. It's a shame we don't have better meds here in the US for this type of bug. When we were in Portugal they gave my husband a pill that dissolved under his tongue and it stopped the vomiting and diarrhea immediately. Wish it were available here. Feel better soon! WOW that sounds like some incredible medicine! How wonderful it would be to have something like that here to stop those nasty bugs in their tracks! hope you feel better soon hpeterson.

@sullicat, sleepless nights MUST be why they invented coffee. dina, I always loved working at home. Got twice the work done in half the time and with no stress. pbnj, sorry about your eye. The floaters I developed are causing me to strain the eye and so it feels strange all day and often gets runny. Eye doctor told me use Systane drops twice a day as needed and they seem to be helping me. The stroganoff looks interesting. I have the Beef Stroganoff recipe from her Fast & Slow cookbook in the InstantPot right now. lmenglish said it was pretty good.
@need, I'm wishing the best for your MIL and saying a prayer for her. linda72, DebDoesWW, our next storm hit this morning but so far the rain is mild; the wind this afternoon has been something else. A friend in Los Angeles sent me a link to a story in the L.A. Times telling of a storm coming their way that will bring 6" of rain; they need it badly as they are still in drought. marchby, good morning back at you. We're here whenever you make it. doordie50, dina, somebody must make DESIGNER PJs for those who work at home. 8>) hpeterson1951, wishing you a quick recovery from this point forward.
It has been a gray and dreary day here in Silicon Valley. Not a lot of rain, but dark gray skies and the wind this afternoon is horrible, makin whistling noises I’ve never heard before. I got a fairly early start this morning and headed to the grocery store for a few things I needed. That included ground beef, chicken filets, and a whole chicken. After shopping I started the SkinnyTaste Beef Stroganoff recipe that lmenglish tried the other day and it is in the InstantPot targeted for dinner sometime between 5 and 6. After I got that going, I threw the whole chicken in the oven to roast. when it came out and cooled, I harvested the meat and put it in containers and refrigerated it. Then I threw the carcass in a pot with water, herbs, spices and veggies to make a chicken stock. Never done that before and I didn’t bother to look up a recipe, so hopefully it turns out okay. I managed to clean the floors in the living room and front hallway with the iRobot Braava hard surface floor cleaning robot I’m trying out and it seemed to do okay except for getting stuck under furniture a few times in the living room. I’ll turn it loose in the bathrooms soon and then it’ll be on to the ultimate test—the kitchen floor. I hope my mood feels as light the rest of the week as it does today as this storm continues through Sunday.

Zofran is for nausea only and very expensive. zazzles , what did you think of the stroganoff? I like the stroganoff. It is tasty. I am not detecting the Worcestershire Sauce at all. I screwed up and only put in 1# of ground beef, but it’s tasty that way and less calories…yay me!
As we discussed, it is not really similar to the ones made with Cream of Mushroom soup, but then it is tasty and a heck of a lot healthier. I’ll make it again.

zazzles , my recipe called for cream of chicken soup. It was from Marie Callenders restaurant in San Jose. I was able to skinny it down to 6 SP. I'd add more sour cream to the Skinny taste one

DebDoesWW They gave my husband 3 meds in Portugal. One for nausea, one for the diarrhea and an antibiotic ...the nausea and diarrhea pills dissolved under his tongue. All 3 cost 12 Euros (which at the time was about $14!!!) I think he got about 6 pills of each. and Deb, the avatar works today...

I'd add more sour cream to the Skinny taste one Linda, I agree that the recipe could use additional sour cream, but I’ll add it at serving time rather than during cooking.
