We are a group who have committed to doing 1000 minutes of exercise per month. We count minutes for all types of exercise: yoga, aerobics, walking, weight training, strength work, stretching or heavy gardening. You be the judge of whether it's exercise. We're here to support, encourage, and set challenges for ourselves. It's all about intention. If we don't make the 1000 minutes this month, there's next month to go for it. Newcomers always welcome!
Here’s how to join, plus some additional information: • You simply post to join. • You will keep track of your own minutes every month-see intro to see what types of activities count toward the total. If you join us mid-month, it's ok to try for a percentage of the 1000, e.g. join on the 15th, go for 50% or 500 minutes. • Most people track on the days they workout, sometimes more. • We try to encourage and support each other. • First one on-line starts us out for the month-post the intro in the first post and your workouts in the next post. (We always love anyone who takes the initiative to start us!) • Not many folks post on weekends but more post on Monday-Friday.
If you would like to join, please post the following information at the bottom of your post so we can get to know you better: Just tell us a little about yourself, your goals, hobbies, whatever.

I just moved over from the other site and hopefully everyone makes it over.
My son and daughter in law just had a baby so I am a little behind. She is just adorable. I have to figure out how to get pix on here.

They were previously demonized for being high in cholesterol, but new studies have shown that they are perfectly safe and healthy

HI Ruth it is me thread crashing again sorry, I am going to leave Carol a private message to make sure she sees the announcement and another one in the thread, I am going through each thread trying to get the stragglers. Just wanted to personally apologize even though this has all been beyond my control. I didn't own the other site, I just moderated it.
No clue when it is getting shut down, she didn't give me a date. I hope Carol makes it back to see the message before she does. Again truly sorry will keep trying to get Carol here.

Good morning, thanks Deb~Does~WW, I know she is in Yellowstone skiing so I hope she got the messages and the private message.

FOODS THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOU:
Meats
It is a myth that all meat is harmful. Unprocessed, gently cooked meat is one of the healthiest and most nutritious foods you can eat. . Lean Beef Lean beef is among the best sources of protein in existence, and loaded with highly bioavailable iron. Choosing the fatty cuts is fine if you’re on a low carb diet. . Chicken Breasts Chicken breast is low in fat and calories, but extremely high in protein. It is a great source of many nutrients. Again, feel free to eat fattier cuts of chicken if you’re not eating that many carbs. . Lamb Lambs are usually grass-fed, and their meat tends to be high in Omega-3 fatty acids.

Good morning. Nothing yesterday, was hoping I got enough steps in to count but didn't. Getting stressed about the amount of time left and the fact that I have not done a whole lot to get ready.
This morning 30/30 class, 30 minutes of spin and 30 of weight lifting. Abs included, yayy.
795/1750 minutes 10/25 abs
FOODS THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOU:
Nuts, Seeds and Peanuts
Despite being high in fat and calories, studies suggest that nuts and seeds can help you lose weight. These foods are crunchy, fulfilling and loaded with important nutrients that many people don’t get enough of, including magnesium and vitamin E.
They also require zero preparation, which is important because it makes it easier to incorporate them into the diet. . Almonds The almond is a popular type of nut. It is loaded with vitamin E, antioxidants, magnesium and fiber. Studies show that almonds can help you lose weight, and provide impressive benefits for metabolic health. . Chia Seeds Chia seeds are among the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. A single ounce (28 grams) contains 11 grams of fiber, and a large part of the recommended intake for magnesium, manganese, calcium and various other nutrients. . Coconuts Coconuts are loaded with fiber and powerful fatty acids called medium-chain triglycerides. . Macadamia Nuts Macadamia nuts are very tasty. They are much higher in monounsaturated fats, and lower in Omega-6 fatty acids, than most other nuts. . Walnuts Walnuts are highly nutritious and loaded with fiber and all sorts of vitamins and minerals. . Peanuts Peanuts (technically legumes, not nuts) are incredibly tasty and high in nutrients and antioxidants. Several studies show that peanuts can help you lose weight. However, take it easy on the peanut butter. It is very high in calories and incredibly easy to eat excessive amounts of it.

I made it!!! I'm currently in Jackson, WY, after several awesome days in Yellowstone. We had some rough driving due to storms and a record snow dump, but once we got there it was amazing! The second day we watched Old Faithful erupt against a beautiful blue sky! I think there were six people watching (compared to 1,000 + in summer). Can't beat it!
We skied a total of 12 hours, and I'm counting 50 minutes per hour (600) plus two days of short walks (60). No stairs to speak of.

Deb, thanks for your help getting me moved. Ruth, how exciting about your beautiful grand daughter!

Hi, Ruth. Yes, Yellowstone in winter is AMAZINGly beautiful! Deep snow (this year), hoarfrost, steam, bright sun (often), running rivers, boiling water, Old Faithful and other geysers, and very few people. Everyone, visitors and workers, is calm and relaxed. Oh, did I mention bison, elk, coyotes, swans, eagles? It's really a special place. This was our 4th trip there in winter, and we've been to Jackson Hole/Grand Tetons another several times.
I've enjoyed your "good for you foods" posts. Thanks!
The picture I put up is one from DH's phone, so maybe you can try a phone-photo.
Walked around the neighborhood this morning (40), and I'm adding 150 laundry stairs.

Happy Holidays, Ruth and anyone else!

Good morning, we have been so crazy busy these last few day. Merry Merry Christmas. I have gotten NO activity but I am still here. Had a wonderful Christmas Eve, went to my husbands sisters house, much of the family was there. Then we went to midnight mass which was really nice and beautiful but I normally go to bed early so it was tough. Then Sunday a girl who used to work for us and her husband were up from NC visiting her family so they came by which was wonderful, then many of the family members came for dinner. Well hanging out first then dinner. My son, his wife and the new baby (13 days old today) didn't come so we are going to see them today. There house is about 2.25 hours away but they are at her dads which is about 90 minutes away.
Grand Tetons are awesome, that entire area is so beautiful.

Salmon Salmon is a type of oily fish that is incredibly popular due to its excellent taste and high amount of nutrients, including protein and Omega-3 fatty acids. It also contains some vitamin D. . Sardines Sardines are small, oily fish that are among the most nutritious foods you can eat. They contain hefty amounts of the majority of nutrients required by the human body. . Shellfish Shellfish isn’t eaten very often, which is a shame because it contains more nutrients than almost every other food. It ranks similar to organ meats when it comes to nutrient density. Edible shellfish includes clams, mollusks and oysters. . Shrimp Shrimp is a type of animal found in the sea. It tends to be low in fat and calories, but high in protein. It is also loaded with various other nutrients, including selenium and vitamin B12. . Trout Trout is another type of delicious oily fish, similar to salmon. . Tuna Tuna is very popular in Western countries, and tends to be low in fat and calories, but high in protein. It is perfect people who need to add more protein to their diets, while keeping calories low.

FOODS THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOU: Grains Grains have gotten a bad rap in recent years, mainly due to them being a forbidden food on the wildly popular paleo diet. Brown (whole grain) rice is fairly nutritious, with a decent amount of fiber, vitamin B1 and magnesium. . Oats Oats are incredibly healthy. They are loaded with nutrients, and also contain powerful fibers called beta-glucans, shown to have numerous benefits. .
