The Mind☯Body☯Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Good Afternoon, Angels:
Loving the new avatars!
Lisa: Have you done ballroom dancing before or is this new? What fun! Does DH do it with you or have you found another willing partner?
I need to return to some Flylady habits myself. ("I can do anything for ___ minutes.") Winter and these gloomy skies bring no energy to me. I just resurrected my Verilux Happy Light (simulates sunlight) and have it here on my desk while I'm typing. I'm hoping it gives me a boost physically and mentally.
I have a bit of a "bum knee" this week. I did go to dance class on Monday. But midway thru the class, I was starting to really feel it. I don't think I injured it with any one thing. I think its just my dramatic entry in to the dance class scene these last ten days and maybe a little too much weight while strength training (leg presses) on Saturday. So, I haven't been to the gym since Monday which bums me out. I did do some upper body and core exercises at home yesterday. I entertain my husband with a few of the exercises using my Fitball, as I, inevitably, fall off the ball. I'm hoping if I take it easy a couple more days, I can go to dance class on Friday.
Anetta: I confess that my "365 Days of Meditation" has not been so good. I'll work on that. Your mentioning a davidje meditation reminded me of my "lapse". How do you go about choosing your meditation when there are so many?!
Pat: You are so active; it surprises me that someone is suggesting you do more! Is the recommended walking-program specifically for your back issue? I've never tried walking with a weight in a backpack. The exercise with weight must be good for posture, yes?
Daily Affirmation: I can do anything for 30 minutes. (other than nap) Fitness Goal: one hour of strength training this afternoon Health Goal: get rid of my "anxiety-tummy". Mind over matter? Gratitude: For a great support system.
Waves to all who follow! Suzanne

Greetings all! Thank you for starting us up, Suzanne. I hope your knee is 100% soon. Meh, I'm not as active as it seems - I workout almost every day, but spend most of the day seated at my desk. Today has been bad - crouching over a forms project, and my back is starting to act up. Walking with the weights in a backpack is to hopefully improve bone density in my spine. I've developed osteopenia from the RA meds I've been on so many years. Anetta, did you eat your veggies, girl? I really do like the Oprah book. It has negatives - only points, no nutritional info, and a lot of the recipes are complex for a step by step cook. However, I love her stories and anecdotes, the art is beautiful, and as for recipes, I can get a feel for it and conjure up my own using those as a springboard. Truffle oil will not be found in my house! Best to Lisa, Michelle and Carol! Daily Affirmation - I will enjoy a walking workout tonight. Fitness Report - Pilates class at the M.O.G. Health Goal - See affirmation. Gratitude - Mild day today.

Hello and happy over-the hump day, all! Suzanne, thanks for getting us rolling today! Suzanne, your dance class sounds like lots of fun and I'm sorry that the discomfort with your knee has put you out of commission for a couple of days. Give yourself credit for paying attention to the cues from your body and allowing for needed rest. Sending healing vibes so you can get back to it on Friday! Yes, just resume "365 Days" and let go of any thoughts about the lapse. Bottom line is that it's really about cultivating daily practice over time rather than focusing on the number of days. I've spent time perusing the meditations offered on IT and am constantly bookmarking ones that I might want to try one day. Sometimes, I'll sort them according to length, then decide what I'm in the mood for. And, of course, I've found some favorites like davidji, Sarah Blondin, Bethany Auriel-Hagan, Tibetan singing bowls, just to name a few. My suggestion is to try different ones and you'll soon discover what speaks to you. Pat, yep, I ate my two servings yesterday! Advance planning and tracking seem to be the best strategy so that's what I'm sticking with this week. Hmmm, no nutritional info in the cookbook? Not sure I would try a recipe without being able to monitor things like carbs, fat, protein, and sodium. But, as you said, there are other good points about it, including some good basic recipe ideas. No truffle oil in my house either!! lol Lisa, I think the veggie-lovin' gene must have passed me by because I really don't like the majority of them very much...BUT, I do eat more today than I ever have! Your boy quilt sounds like a fun project and I hope you'll share a photo of it when it is finished. Waves to Michelle and Carol! Daily Affirmation - I am blessed with good physical, mental, and spiritual health. Fitness Report - Walk got rained out so I did 20 minutes of Turbo Jam and 20 minutes of yoga standing poses. Aaahhh, that felt great!! Health Goal - More veggies, hot tea because the damp weather is making it challenging to drink cold water. Stay mindful about carbs. Gratitude - Self-care that took the form of postponing a planned lunch outing with a friend. I was feeling low-energy and am appreciated that she understood my need to stay in and recoup today. Hope you're all having a great day!
