zazzles Mike, the GOOD news with Apple is they now are talking to anyone for free anytime! AppleCare is for repair of the product but the call-in support is free for lifetime even for older products. At least that's what I was told at my last session. I'm going to verify that today. But I think it's true because I had to call a few weeks ago about my Time Capsule and I never had AppleCare on it and it's way beyond 3 years anyway! I HOPE this is true... will definitely verify TODAY!

I'm stumped for a good PJs design that would be comfy and presentable lol Hmmm, maybe PJs with a design like those men’s T-shirts that look like a tuxedo coat, shirt and bow tie, only the complete outfit. Or PJs designed like culottes to look like an eveing gown. Seems like it’d even be a business opportunity for somebody on Home Shopping Network.

Sounds like a completely new business model, and one that recognizes their products last and go on for years beyond the 1- or 3-year warranty period and need ongoing support. I can live with that!

susiq25679 pbnj hpeterson1951 sullicat1 linda72 DebDoesWW thyme2 lmenglish zazzles doordie50 Thanks for all the love....I'm about to sit down and do some googling for the body shop that gave me the estimate. I think we're going to skip insurance, it's insanely expensive here and I'm not sure I wouldn't pay more than $2000 down the road to get it covered; the irony of selling a car and having some $$ to use.... zazzles Sadly, I HAVE the backing up alert...which definitely says something about my mental state in the car. Ugh. And of course that sensor is one of the things that's damaged! zazzles pbnj That is REALLY exciting to think of out of warranty products being covered, my iMac is about a year out of warranty, and while it's good for me to try to figure out what is wrong myself, how nice to be able to still call; I hope you're right, Pat. Mike, back before Apple became popular (I can still remember the first time I had a student say, "Oh, you have a Mac!" and I realize the iPhone had pushed me into *cool*), I always thought that Apple's customer service and training was worth every penny of the extra that they cost. I was not a natural by a long shot with technology, but a bunch of patient, helpful employees kept me learning. It was so amazing to be out in the sun for a while, even if it didn't last. And I did pass through the various forms of security that the church and school have to restore J to the cyberworld!

zazzles and ksbruns Mike and Kathy... It's TRUE!! You can call for any Apple product (iMac, iPad, iPhone, MacBook,etc...) even if it's out of warranty. You can call 1-800-275-2273 But what works even better is to go to the support page www.getsupport.apple.com . You can set up a specific time and Apple will call you immediately or at your convenience. I've used it and it is wonderful!! Oh, happy days!!!

I really want this desktop to plug on a bit longer, trying to break my *oh, out of warranty, must need a new one* way of thinking!

pbnj, how exciting for us all! I’ll have to pass this on to my Mac-owning friends. One had a Mini start giving him problems recently and it was out of warranty so he set it aside and I send one of my spares over to him.
ksbruns, I’ve always felt that way about Apple products. I spent a 25-year career in the computer field, going back to days before IBM came out with the PC and Microsoft was even started. And for all the years after Windows was introduced, I used Windows—most people did. But I eventually started a small desktop publishing service and decided to get a Mac for that work. And one day while shuttling between the Windows machine and the Mac, a lightbulb went off over my head when I realized: “Hey, when I’m using the Mac I spend my time focused on what I need to do. When I’m using the Windows machine I spend my time focused on figuring out HOW TO DO what I need to do.” The differences are that dramatic for me. So when I retired I said “Ain’t buying any more Windows machines.” I do run Parallels Desktop on the Mac and us Windows in a virtual machine, but I ony need to use Windows for developing and maintaining Access databases for the non-profit I support.

Mike, I knew literally one person that used a Mac, but she was a friend of mine, and when my son was finishing middle school I knew we needed a computer...I was working in a college and you got a discount on Macs, LOL. My friend was my first guru and I was sold. I had never been on a PC until I worked for WW's and, what a misery that awful software was.
